Wairarapa’s top Young Farmers put to the test at Woodville Young Farmers will be pushing the limits of their mental and physical farming skills at Woodville this Sunday 14th November. The FMG Young Farmer of the Year East Coast South District Contest is one of 18 district qualifying rounds taking place around New Zealand before Christmas.

The winner will go on to compete in the East Coast Regional Final in March next year at Waipukurau and Waipawa.
Dannevirke is a “real community focused club”, says Sam Cooper, co-convener of the event.
And that winner will compete in the Grand Final in Whangarei in July 2022.
“Young Farmers is about being a part of something special – with a real history behind it.
This District Contest is being organised by the Dannevirke Young Farmers Club, which is based in Dannevirke, with competitors also coming from the Wairarapa, South Wairarapa and Dannevirke clubs. Comprising 15 practical and theoretical modules, the spectator-friendly event is an opportunity to see NZ Young Farmers’ members testing their skills. District Contests are the entry level for the contest.
