On the 70th anniversary of the British North Greenland Expedition, TUDOR released the latest rendition of the storied Ranger, which was a derivative of the TUDOR watches that accompanied the explorers on their mission from 1952-1954. The Ranger, designed as a 21st century expedition watch, commemorates this momentous expedition. The British North Greenland Expedition was a two-year mission aimed to carry out scientific studies in glaciology, meteorology, geology and physiology, as well as radio wave propagation and useful information for the British Armed Forces. During the expedition, the crew experienced temperatures below -75 degrees⁰Fahrenheit on 16 occasions. They used a combination of air, sea and land transportation to traverse and supply the camps. As a result of their brave expedition, they were awarded the Polar Medal (1954), and Commander Simpson was presented the Patron’s Medal (1955) from the Royal Geographical Society and made Commander of the Order of the British Empire (1956). With these extremely rough conditions in mind, the crew trusted their TUDOR watches as steadfast companions as they traversed the treacherous terrain. They knew that TUDOR watches were robust, reliable and practical instruments and entrusted the TUDOR Oyster Prince. TUDOR, however,
