Around 200 whānau and invited guests gathered at Pāpāwai Marae on Friday 8 November to honour Robert Kinsela (Kim) Workman, Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa/Rangitāne, who was named a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to prisoner welfare and the justice system, in the New Year Honours list, the first of his iwi to be knighted.

The wānanga, with the theme ‘Nationhood and Identity’, commenced with a pōwhiri for arriving guests at 9.00am and later, the Governor General, Dame Patsy Reddy, and her party were welcomed with a pōwhiri.

Murray Hemi, MC for the day, commenced proceedings with an introduction to the day. Dame Patsy delivered a short address that covered pre-European history of New Zealand; Crown/Māori relationships and events in Wairarapa that included the ceding of Wairarapa Moana to the Crown; the Māori Parliament at Pāpāwai; and the

development of the first sheep station in New Zealand, established at Wharekaka, south Wairarapa.

Tā Kim gave an in-depth, often entertaining, account of his formative years, of growing up in Greytown and identifying with Pāpāwai Marae, his turangawaewae, the centre of his universe, where he felt protected. His public service career, spanning four decades, included the Police; the Office of the Ombudsman; State

Services Commission; Department of Māori Affairs and Ministry of Health, including a period as Head of the Prison Service. From 2000 to 2008, Tā Kim was the Director of Prison Fellowship. Thus began the journey advocating for criminal justice and prison reform.

Tā John Clarke, Ngāti Porou/Ngāpuhi, Chair of the Māori Heritage Council, was proud to confirm wāhi tupuna classification on the New Zealand Heritage List, recognising significant and valued historical and cultural heritage, on Pāpāwai Marae. A plaque was presented by Andrew Coleman, Chief Executive, of Heritage New Zealand and was accepted by senior kaumātua, Nelson Rangi.

A delicious lunch, prepared and served by members of the Workman whānau, followed and entertainment was provided by the Kuranui College kapa haka group and Te Wānanga o Raukawa.

The Honourable Chris Finlayson, former Treaty Negotiations Minister, provided a thought-provoking address on the definition of treaty settlement frameworks and navigating the future. The Treaty environment is constantly changing, shifting and accelerating so Māori need to be responsive and meet those challenges with hope.

Tā Tipene O’Regan, Ngāi Tahu, contributed an inspiring address on ‘Nationhood and Identity’. Māori have been subjected to a huge demographic revolution. Determination of social and cultural policy has not been worked out by the New Zealand policy machine and the State. The greatest challenge is the redesigning and rethinking of how we’re going to meet the changing shape of society. There’s no real aspirational dream of moving forward. There is no clear articulation of how we should become. Māori now have the transformative capacity to take the lead in what we want to be. How we dream about the future confronts us. Let us resolve to grow our dream and to focus on that dream.

Murray Hemi then spoke. Key focus points included: Identity; Belonging; Connectivity; and Sense of Place and the opportunities to meet something new and to embrace change.

Students studying at Te Wānanga o Raukawa, supporting Tā Kim as a fellow student undertaking a Diploma of Te Reo Māori, provided an explanation of the four pillars, the guiding principles, established by Te Wānanga o Raukawa circa 1975. A waiata, “I te Ao, i te Pō”, composed by the students, ended their kōrero.

Education Funding 2020 Scholarships are available to descendants of an original Wairarapa Moana owner.

Criteria is applied to all funding.

Future Leaders Scholarships – Ngā Kete o Te Wānanga – Tertiary Scholarships are targeted at students undertaking study in post graduate, under graduate and diploma programmes.

Ngā Mahi Ā-Rehe – Trade Training & Apprenticeship Scholarships are provided to those studying and working towards a trade or an apprenticeship.

Poutama Grant Funding – Members of Tā Kim and Lady Carolyn’s whā nau with Rt Hon Patsy Reddy.

Laura O’Connell Rapira, Te Ātiawa/Ngāpuhi/Te Rarawa/ Ngāti Whakaue, Director of ActionStation, spoke of her work with Tā Kim on justice reform through JustSpeak. Her acknowledgement of Tā Kim’s work would see a justice system in the future that was fair for everyone and vowed to continue the legacy of his work to create a more just and equitable future for Aotearoa.

These grants are provided to allow whānau to undertake a course of training that will assist them to take the next step in their career. This could include either further training or employment opportunities, such as a bridging course or similar.

WAI 85 Update May 11-15, 2019 – the final full week of hearings of the Waitangi Tribunal on our Wai 85 claim, and the Wairarapa Moana Incorporation (WMI) application for the return of lands taken from us for the Maraetai Dam in the 1940s.

The week started with evidence from Murray Hemi on behalf of WMI in response to that of Historian Bruce Stirling.

Mr Stirling, on behalf of Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa Tāmaki Nui-ā-Rua Settlement Trust (NKKWTNR) presented evidence to the Waitangi Tribunal in September 2019 that challenged the list of owners on the 1883 title to Wairarapa Moana. It was this list of owners, and their descendants (230 by 1916) to which the lands at Pouākani were transferred.

During the presentation of our closing submissions, WMI advised the Waitangi Tribunal that if the land is returned we will hold it in trust for current and future WMI owners and all descendants of the original owners of Wairarapa Moana.

Mr Stirling’s evidence was that the list of owners should have been significantly larger, and that the ownership list was “controversial” at the time.

Murray (one of our own, and a respected Historian in his own right) refuted this evidence. He told the Waitangi Tribunal that while our people in 1883 were opposed to the individualisation of ownership through the Native Land Court processes, the list of owners was correct.

Murray provided extensive evidence of the processes and numerous Wānanga that our people went through to determine the 139 owners.

The remainder of the week was devoted to hearing closing submissions from WMI, Raukawa Settlement Trust, Ngāti Tuwharetoa and the Crown. NKKWTNR will present their closing submission on 9 December 2019.

Te Reo Māori Ako tōu hoa Tēnā koutou ngā uri o Wairarapa Moana.

As a trustee of Wairarapa Moana Trust and the Moanatanga portfolio, I’m going to present a Te Reo program in the Mailer. Beginning with consonants, word structure, sentence structure, and ending with the structure of whaikōrero. This is not a comprehensive introduction, it is a quick overview of some of the basics in learning te reo Māori. It is an opportunity for those with no understanding of Te Reo Māori to get an understanding and hopefully sow the seed to seek more matauranga Māori. I will do my best to make this an enjoyable and pleasant experience. I’m not a tohunga of Te Reo, my passion is to keep Te Reo alive.

Lesson 2 – Consonants This will consist of what we have learnt from lesson #1 into a six part sentence structure – tense markers, and locatives and modifiers.

Ok whānau carrying on from lesson #1, by now you should have 10 verbs, 10 nouns and 10 adjectives.

The first part of the sentence structure are called tense markers; Ka ..... has a timeframe of past future and present tense Kei te ..... has a timeframe of present tense I ..... has a timeframe of past tense Kua ..... completed tense.

E ..... ana …..

Tense markers begin a sentence and indicate a period of time as to when the event took place.

Kei te - Is a tense marker that indicates the thing you are talking about and is occurring as we speak, eg: Kei te haere a John = John is going ..... as we speak / present tense.

I haere a John = John has been ..... completed / past tense.

E haere ana a John = John is going ..... in the future / future tense Kua haere a John = John has gone /John has been / John has gone

A sentence structure begins with a tense marker Ka Kei te Kua I E ….. ana This is followed by the verb Ka haere Kei te haere Kua haere I haere E haere ana The verb is followed by the subject or person/thing who is doing the action Ka haere a John Kei te haere a John Kua haere a John I haere a John E haere ana a John = John is going If you notice the pattern in this part of the sentence structure we have the tense marker followed by the verb Then followed by the subject or person/thing doing the action An (a) is used always in front of a person’s name.

Ka haere a John = John is going Kei te haere a Jane = Jane is going as we speak I haere a Peter = John has been When a person’s name is used to begin a sentence we use Ko Ko John = its John Ko Jane = its Jane Ko Peter = its Peter

Death is never easy to announce and we will all find ourselves in this position at some time in our lives.

There are instances when the office is unaware of a shareholder having passed away and so correspondence and the Wairarapa Moana Mailer continue to be sent to the deceased shareholder.

On some occasions whānau members have become upset when mail addressed to their loved one continues to arrive at the address on the share register.

It would be greatly appreciated if whānau could let the office know of shareholders who have passed on.

2019 Highlights from AGMs The three-year rotation took us back to Pouākani for the Wairarapa Moana annual general meetings. This gave us the opportunity to visit Miraka on the Friday followed by the pōwhiri at Pouākani Marae and then a visit to our farms on the morning of the meetings.

Our thanks and appreciation go to the whānau of Pouākani Marae. We acknowledge the effort it takes to ensure our shareholders and whānau are well catered for during their time at Pouākani. All those that work on our various marae will understand the effort it takes to prepare meals and manaaki whānau. Ki a koutou te whānau o Pouākani, ‘Kei runga noa atu!’ Kāore he kōrero tua atu o tērā.

The Wairarapa Moana Incorporation Farm Visits It was an early start, 7.30am, when four buses and a mini van loaded up and left Mangakino Area School to visit the Farms. Owners and whānau were taken to view cows being milked at the Dairy Shed on Farm 4, followed by a briefing from Trevor Hamilton and Michael Allan, our General Managers and their teams on the performance of the Dairy farming operations for the 2018/19 year. As has become part of our custom on these visits, owners and whānau were also given the opportunity to plant native trees, shrubs and flaxes in memory of our whānau who have passed.

A visit to the Old Wool Shed (now a training facility) at the Dairy Support Unit at Ropiha Rd, was the opportunity to be briefed on the performance of the Dairy Support Units. A highlight at Rophia Rd was the opportunity to meet some very beautiful Charolois calves, being reared for on sale to the Wi Pere Trust. A quick walk to the nearby yards and we were taken through the process of weighing some of our heifers.

This year we decided to take our whānau on Farm and asked our very brave bus drivers to maneuver many of our farm tracks, so owners could get ‘up close’ to their whenua.

It would be fair to say we took buses where no buses have gone before. Two buses got a little stuck and had to be rescued. In our defense we did have a tractor ready and waiting for this exact purpose!

Thank you to all owners and whānau that made the journey to Mangakino for the 2019 Farm visits, and that early morning start. It was an honour to host on Farm such a large number of owners and whānau, some on their first

visit, others returning to Mangakino and the Farms after long absences.

The Wairarapa Moana Incorporation meeting commenced after lunch with a welcome from Chairman Kingi Smiler.

As there were no additional nominations there was no need for an election to the Committee of Management and Kingi Smiler and Sonya Rimene were returned unopposed.

Business was conducted as per the agenda and the Business Update was followed by Michael Allan’s presentation on the Incorporation’s accounts.

The proposed dividend as recommended by the Committee of Management and outlined in the Notice of Meeting book was presented and passed. The proposed dividend will be distributed in early December.

Anne Carter provided an update on the Wai 85 and Pouākani Lands Claim highlighting closing submissions due to be heard in November.

The Auditor and Share Valuer were re-appointed for another year; the minutes of the 2018 general meeting were approved; and the 2020 AGM will be held on October 17th at Greytown.

The Chairman acknowledged shareholders and whānau for their commitment to attending the AGM and recognised the technical team, the farm and office teams and the Committee of Management.

The meeting concluded and the Wairarapa Moana Trust AGM commenced.

The Wairarapa Moana Trust meeting commenced at 2.20pm with Chairperson, Deborah Davidson, welcoming everyone to the meeting.

The Performance Report for the year ended 31 May 2019 was presented by Anaru Smiler. Amy Kerr and Associates were approved to be the appointed Reviewer of the Financials for 2019/2020; and the 2018 Minutes were passed with no amendments or matters arising.

There were two vacancies to the Board of Trustees due to the rotation of Deborah Davidson and Raumahora Waata. One nomination was received from Deborah Davidson who was welcomed back to the Trust for another term.

Tiraumaera Te Tau presented the education portfolio with a recap on the different types of funding available through the Trust. Jefferson Dew provided a positive presentation on his educational journey and gave thanks for the funding and support received to date.

Raumahora Waata provided an overview on Marae Development for the year and spoke about the tīpuna marae trustee training held in July 2019. All six tīpuna marae were represented and again proved to be successful for attendees. Rawiri Smith provided an informative presentation and thanked the Trust for the Marae Development funding contributions received by Hurunui-o-Rangi Marae.

Rutu Namana, presented the Wairarapa Moanatanga portfolio, promoting the Lake Book and the Whakakaha paepae programme, Te Pou Pūmau. Four of Six tīpuna marae have programmes either in place or about to start in the new year.

PRE-AGM ROADSHOWS 2019 This year Wairarapa Moana directors and trustees visited whānau in Auckland, Hastings, Gisborne, Wellington, Masterton and Christchurch in preparation of the 2019 AGM. Notification of venues was provided via the Mailer, facebook, website and letters to shareholders. Attendance at all venues were down from numbers registered but had increased from the previous year. While we realise there may be situations that come up at the last minute and prevent you from attending, a call to the office if circumstances change is appreciated.

Thank you to all who attended and supported the preAGM roadshows. We value your questions and feedback during these hui.

Deborah provided a brief report on the waiata being promoted via the Wairarapa Moana facebook page and encouraged whānau to subscribe to You Tube and Spotify to view all waiata in their entirety.

General Business Acknowledgement was provided by Maryanne Stuart to both the Trust and Incorporation regarding the support her daughter Marise Stuart has received.

On behalf of the trustees and whānau of Wairarapa Moana, Deborah Davidson thanked everyone for their attendance and participation and acknowledged the support from the office staff and fellow trustees during the past year. The meeting concluded at 3:12pm with karakia.

Marae Update Te Rangimarie Marae – Te Hepara Pai On 12 September 2019, the Mihingare church received its first NZ born Māori woman Bishop.

Waitohiariki Quayle of Ngāti Kahungunu and Whakatohea whakapapa, is the first New Zealand born female Bishop across the Anglican Church and is the first Māori woman to hold this role.

Following the pōwhiri it was time for kapu tī, then priests and bishops changed into their robes for the service. About 200 priests lined up, Māori and Pakeha to welcome into this space our new Bishop.

We at Te Rangimarie Marae are proud to have her based here at the little church, Te Hepara Pai.

Archbishop Don Tamahere led the service with Archbishop of Pasifica and Archbishop of Tikanga Pakeha alongside.

Choirs from Rathkeale College, Hukarere Girls College and Te Aute College joined the local Kura Kaupapa and Taikura Kapa Haka. It was a wonderful celebration of faith and joy, and an honour to have Bishop of Toronto, Bishop and Assistant Bishop of Wellington, and Assistant Bishop of Adelaide join Archbishop Don, and others on the day.

What a glorious day it was, God poured sunshine on the 1200 people who came to celebrate, and celebrate we did!

The day began with a pōwhiri, the maraeikura of Te Rito o Te Reo Karanga, accompanied with the voices of tauira from Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Wairarapa who added their support.

We look forward to a new day in the Mihingare church as we are led into the future by this wonderful new Bishop of Upoko o te Ika, Waitohiariki Quayle.

Our Marae is always a busy place with meetings being held there every week and plenty of catering to see to. The most recent being the induction of the newly elected Masterton District Council Members. We hope that their beginning on our Marae will indeed bless and strengthen them for their service ahead to the community.

We now start to prepare for the Christmas season; how fast this year has gone. Being a church Marae, obviously this is an important time for us as we ready our hearts and lives to welcome the Christ child.

Hurunui-o-Rangi Marae Tū mai ki runga i a Uhi Manuka, tū mai ki runga i a Parikouiti, titiro whakararo ko te auahi o ngā ahikā, e pupū ana.

It’s been a busy year, always something to do around the marae, groups to assist and whānau to support. But this year has been a little more complex. We’ve seen the papakainga with homes under the umbrella of social housing spearhead the revitalisation of our Hurunui-oRangi community, then there’s the new marae development that’s been on the radar for a long time and now getting some serious momentum.

The annual general meeting was held in August where we received various trustee and committee reports; and confirmed new trustees Irene Ratapu and Charlie Grant.

The annual financials were not available but will be presented at the special general meeting in November.

We would like to share with you the intricacies associated with the role of being a trustee on our marae reserve. In essence, it’s no longer just about the day to day governing role. It’s more likely to be about cultural competency, strong governance, vision and strategy, liability and striving to understand the legal complexities associated with our goals for the future. So what does all that mean? Quite simply, as trustees we must be committed to improving our skills and knowledge in order to provide better outcomes for our marae community.

and our tanks were filled as needed; some years later, water was pumped under the Gladstone road from the Kintyre Abattoir to supply the marae; and more recently water was pumped from a joint supply on Queenie and Ivan Rowe’s adjoining property. But now we have our own supply of water and what a journey that has been!

To sustain the papakainga, the current marae and the new marae build it was decided to drill a water bore and provide the marae with its own water supply. The most appropriate place for the bore was on the lower terrace so an application was applied for and granted along with resource consent for domestic supply. Yay, finally our own water supply……. but wait that’s not all!

It was several months later when we discovered the water bore was one meter outside the boundary of the marae reserve. Legal advice was sought and an application to the Māori Land Court for a water easement was made in early 2018. Communication and discussions were held with lawyers on behalf of adjoining neighbours and in April 2019 the water easement was mapped by Land Information New Zealand and a new fence was erected in October under instruction from the Māori Land Court.

We are grateful to the owners of the adjoining land for not opposing the water easement.

There is a lesson to be learnt here…. Dot your i’s, cross your t’s, and leave no room for error. We may not be as fortunate next time!

Tikitikiorangi Vernon Te Whaiti is my grandfather.

I have just finished my six years of study at the University of Otago and have gained a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery degree to enable me to practice as a doctor in Aotearoa.

Most of my studies were completed in Dunedin and Wellington, which has enabled me to briefly return back to the Wairarapa and train at the hospital and in the community there, but also complete various research projects with my whānau from the Wairarapa.

Aspirations from beginning to end of study?

Did they change? Why/how?

Ever since I started school I always thought I was going to be a commercial pilot as I was fascinated by travel and aeroplanes. However, this took a turn to Medicine due to various different reasons. When I was in year 10 at school, my mother gave birth to an extremely premature baby (my sister Tia Rose) whom was cared for in the Neonatal intensive care until at Dunedin hospital for 4 months.

During this time, my exposure to the health service was enormous and I witnessed what hard work the doctors

and nurses undertake. It was then that my passion for health was sparked. Subsequently during my time in senior school, my grandparents started coming into contact with the health service more frequently. Our experiences as a whānau were somewhat negative, due to a variety of factors. As I gained entry into medical school after a gruelling entrance year, I started to develop a sense of difference as I was Māori, in the way that we were treated and still continue to be treated within the health service. I have a huge passion for Māori health and clinical outcomes for whānau, which has seen me produce various pieces of research for Māori health and Māori health workforce units. Recently, I was also appointed commissioner for the Lancets Standing Commission for Adolescent Health and Wellbeing of which I am co-leading a project exploring the health status and interventions for indigenous adolescent populations globally.

How did the Future Leaders scholarship assist you?

Wairarapa Moana provided me immense support throughout my initial three years at University. Financially, University is a huge cost, and without scholarships, I would not have been able to support myself to live independently.

Six years of study on a $200 per week Government allowance is not sustainable to succeed in University and many whānau aren’t in a position to support an expensive University lifestyle. There are many hidden costs such as textbooks, computers, tutorials, travel and tuition fees.

Future plans? Current Employment?

I have just secured a position as a house officer (junior doctor) at Canterbury District Health Board. I see myself training to become a clinician, probably a career with a surgical aspect, as I like to use my hands and undertake cool procedures. I am also passionate about research, so an academic career is also on the cards. Currently, I live in Otautahi/Christchurch with my fiancé Lucy and we have just purchased our first home, so it may be a while until I return back home to the Wairarapa. However, I do want to maintain a connection with my whānau and community in the Wairarapa.

Any advice for other Future Leaders scholarship recipients?

Give it your absolute all! Many opportunities will present themselves when you get to tertiary education, and my advice is, say yes to everything and sort out the details later. That was always my philosophy during my training. It enabled me to take on a lot of extra-curricular stuff which looks great on my CV and put me in a position where I was able to confidently select my first choice for the job market here in Christchurch.

Stay connected to your whānau – they are your biggest support. It’s also a gentle reminder that they are the reason you are doing this mahi, and they are probably the people that have supported you from the skin off their backs just to get you here. Cherish that.

Finally, balance in life is important. Exploring the world, undertaking hobbies that you love and spending time with your friends and whānau is what will get you there. Don’t let your mahi bog you down, or you’ll quickly learn to hate it.

Tēnā koutou Firstly, let me introduce myself to those of you I didn’t get to meet at the October AGM in Mangakino.

I started in the role as General Manager in August this year.

I have over the years been involved with Wairarapa Moana Incorporation (WMI) as an adviser, so I was fortunate in knowing a lot of WMI’s commercial background.

I originally trained as a farmer and then moved on to be a farm accountant. I live in Taupo with my wife Jane. We have two grown up children and two beautiful moko (one boy and one girl) who give us a lot of joy.

Here is the update on the WMI enterprises.

Dairy Farms The spring got away to a reasonable start with good grass covers. Calving was initially a bit slow and then picked up.

In October we got some cold weather and grass growth slowed. Our key results are: • We are about 6.0% behind on our new production budget and production remains at the level of last season. We may still pick up on production and get closer to our new target

• We budget on a milk price of $6.00 per Kilogram milk solid. We are pleased with the forecast milk price which will be above our budget number. Miraka have given us an update milk price range of $6.90 to 7.40 per Kg MS and to consider a mid-point of $7.15 including our Te Ara Miraka premium • NIWA are forecasting weather conditions for the summer with normal to near normal rainfall and soil moisture levels so with the help of our irrigation indicators are lining up for a dairy result better than budget and in excess of last season • Mating is currently underway, and the farm teams are still very busy with artificial breeding. Soon it will be managing the bulls to ensure a good in-calf rate • The spring born calves now weaned are being moved on to the dairy support farms; Ford Road and Kaharoa Farm • I want to acknowledge the Farm Teams and the good efforts they make together with the Operation Managers to deliver leading farm performances and thank them for what they do.

The dairy farms are looking a picture as I am sure everyone who attended the AGM in Mangakino will confirm.

MIRAKA – Small player with big dreams In the middle of the North Island a little dairy company is doing big things. Miraka’s chief executive Richard Wyeth believes being small works to its advantage.

Māori-owned Miraka, established in 2011, is a dairyprocessing company with strong values founded on the cultural beliefs of its owners. It is unique in the dairy industry through its use of sustainable and renewable geothermal energy - a world first for the whole milk powder processing industry.

It collects milk from 100 farms within an 85km radius of the factory, which gives it a farm-fresh advantage and results in superior quality products.

Forestry Some of the forestry land (306 hectares) has completed its second rotation which under the agreement with Forest Products Limited (now owned by Taumata Plantations Limited), becomes available to WMI to plant and manage its own tree crop. WMI has taken the opportunity to do this and the initiative will provide a long-term investment together with diversification for the WMI enterprise.

Miraka Miraka is WMI’s main off-farm investment. Miraka launched a new nutritional range of 3 new products under the Taupo Pure brand in China during the ‘China International Import Export’ week in the first week of November. The nutritional products launched are; Seniors 50+, Family, and Kids 4+.

Its relatively small size gives it an edge and allows it to show leadership in the dairy industry and it is not hamstrung by the challenges and complexities of a large company.

One of the key values is kaitiakitanga, meaning guardianship and protection or sustainability. Here, it takes the lead over bigger competitors and uses things like renewable geothermal energy, worm farming and closedloop recycling at the factory.

The goal is to protect the environment so future generations benefit from the work it does. Instead of dictating to suppliers what they should be doing Miraka has an incentive scheme, Te Ara Miraka, that rewards them for doing better.

If suppliers can meet five criteria for people, environment, animal welfare, milk quality and prosperity they can

potentially earn 20c/kg MS extra at the end of the season. It’s a win-win situation for everyone with more money in the pockets of suppliers and Miraka can tell its story to the consumers and demand a higher premium for the products.

But it also means showing urbanites there are farmers doing a great job and making changes and improvements and looking after the environment and animals.

While some might say Miraka is too small, others might say the likes of Fonterra and Synlait are too big. Either way, Miraka is showing size doesn’t matter and it can make a splash to rival the big boys.

50 Unclaimed Dividends Shareholder Bank Account Details Payment of dividends to shareholders living in New Zealand is made by way of Direct Credit to shareholders’ bank accounts.

A Direct Credit Account Form is available from the office. if you have changed your bank account or your account has been closed please advise the office and complete another direct credit form.

Bank account details are required to be verified by the bank or a pre-printed bank deposit slip can be provided. The office cannot accept bank account numbers over the phone, or by fax, email or letter.

Shareholders living overseas are currently paid by cheque unless the shareholder holds a New Zealand bank account and elects to have the dividend paid into the New Zealand bank account.

Cheques must be presented at the bank within six months of the date of issue.

Wairarapa Moana Incorporation is reviewing the method of payment to overseas shareholders. We are progressing toward the option of direct credit to overseas owners.
