“I love it so far, everybody in the math department has been super nice, all the staff at West Albany has been “super nice and welcoming,” math teacher Samuel Hartman said. “I think the transition for me has been good because I am surrounded by really good teachers who know what they’re doing and have made the transition easy for me.” “It’s great, first off I’ll say it’s awesome, I was lucky enough to teach at West with all the other teachers, so they have been super welcoming, super helpful,” Love everything about West. I went to high school here so it’s good to kinda come back home to get back where it all started.” “Student behaviors are something I’m used to, it’s challenging but it’s nothing new I couldn’t handle.”
“Yeah. I really like working here, it’s a really awesome opportunity because I went here and my dad works here,” daycare teacher Meghan Lien said, “ I never thought that I would be working here because you know, Working with young kids, you don’t think you’re gonna be working in a high school.”
Being a new teacher is overwhelming but can be very exciting. From juggling the needs of your students to learning how your school runs can be tense, so how can we as make this adjustment smooth for everyone? “I love it so far, everybody in the math department has been super nice, all the staff at West Albany has been super nice and welcoming,” math teacher Samuel Hartman said. “I think the transition for me has been good because I am surrounded by really good teachers who know what they’re doing and have made the transition easy for me.” “It’s great, I was lucky enough to teach at West with all the other teachers, so they have been super welcoming,” health teacher Drew Halverson said. This year we have opened a new daycare center for high schoolers to hang out and teach preschoolers for an elective. A teacher in charge of the daycare is the daughter of Don Lein who is the Athletics Director for West Albany High School, and is going to do great teaching high schoolers to take care of the little ones. These new additions here at West Albany make our school that much more enjoyable, we want to make sure they feel welcome and accepted here.
