HERITAGE ...

A Vision Inspired by Tradition

The story of Rowland Taylor began with a moment of inspiration that shaped the vision of its founder, Kerr Taylor. During a transformative trip to Europe after college, Kerr was captivated by the timeless beauty of Florence, Italy. While enjoying coffee in a quaint café, he struck up a conversation with an elderly gentleman and asked about the ownership of the stunning properties surrounding the ancient plazas. The man’s reply was simple yet profound: “The founding families of Florence own these properties. They are passed down from generation to generation. They are never sold. They are grandissimo!”

The word “grandissimo” translated to the Italian word for “great” to mean “Irreplaceable®”, resonated deeply with Kerr. To him, it signified something far more valuable: the Irreplaceable®. This epiphany led Kerr to dedicate his life to “Investing in the Irreplaceable™,” a philosophy that became the cornerstone of Rowland Taylor’s mission. This vision has guided the company’s endeavors across real estate, private equity, agriculture, and philanthropy. The commitment to preserving and enhancing what is truly irreplaceable continues to drive the company’s success and growth.

A Legacy of Proven Success

Rowland Taylor’s commitment to Investing in the Irreplaceable® is more than a philosophy — it is a proven track record. Under Kerr Taylor’s leadership, AmREIT became known as “The Irreplaceable Corner Company™,” growing to over $1 billion in assets and delivering historic returns for shareholders before its acquisition by Blackstone-backed Edens in 2015.

Building on that success, Kerr established the family farm in 2012. For more than a decade, Rowland Taylor has been farming with precision and care, focusing on world-class husbandry and stewardship of both land and livestock. Today, the company continues to expand this legacy through a diversified portfolio spanning real estate ventures at Fifth Corner, agribusiness at Old Three Wagyu and Rowland Taylor Vineyards, and philanthropic efforts through Pathways for Little Feet.

OUR NAME ...

Old Three - A Dedication to Tradition and Excellence

Old Three Wagyu is more than a cattle operation; it is a living tribute to Texas heritage and the enduring values that shape Rowland Taylor. Established in Washington County — the birthplace of Texas — the farm draws its name from the Old Three Hundred, the first settlers of the Republic.

Just as those pioneers laid the foundation for a new republic, Old Three Wagyu is laying the foundation for an Irreplaceable® herd. With disciplined stewardship, advanced husbandry, and respect for tradition, the farm is preserving the purity of the Wagyu breed while enhancing it for future generations. Rooted in heritage, guided by faith, and committed to excellence, Old Three Wagyu stands as a modern expression of timeless values.
