COVID-19......................................................................4 Economic.......................................................................6 Social...........................................................................11 Environment.................................................................24 A Group CSR strategy..................................................28 Our "Value Life" signature is much more than a philosophy. It conveys our commitment to harness the skills and energy of all our employees so that we can rest assured that we are fully deserving of our customers' trust. This fifth CSR report offers renewed evidence of this ambition by using indicators and initiatives that illustrate our Group’s contribution towards economic, social and environmental issues. Value Life reflects our philosophy: • We value life through our care and respect for patients • We value life through the development of innovative products and their impact in protecting and saving lives • We value life through our environmental commitment and social responsibility • We value life by providing our employees with a pleasant work environment and taking care over who we choose as our business partners • Our customers/partners value life through their missions. Value Life is also a statement that encourages everyone to do exactly that - value life.

Like for many companies, 2020 was marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, which had a strong impact on our organisation and our activity. Yet, we managed to rise to the challenge, adapt, and maintain customer confidence. As a result of our combined efforts, business operations continued and we were able to deliver our products thus helping to save lives. The pandemic greatly accelerated the use of new information systems and the development of remote working. It gave impetus to the strategic directions taken in recent years at Vygon in relation to digital transformation and changes to our operating and organisational model. Our collaborative project, Echo, allowed us to continue our activity remotely and also facilitated collaboration and information sharing, thus improving our performance. Many projects are underway to support our transformation, to adapt our business to market developments and regulatory requirements, and to help us meet the challenges that lie ahead. In this uncertain and increasingly competitive international environment, it was imperative for our Group to prepare for the future and redefine our strategy to maintain growth. VYSION is an enterprise-wide business plan in line with our company culture and our values. After an initial diagnostic review, the business plan will continue to mobilise large numbers of employees in implementing our strategic objectives for the next five years, including corporate social responsibility. It is in this unique context that we are pleased to bring you our 2020 report. Laurent Millet Human Resources Director Vygon Group

C O V I D - 1 9
Our company and the COVID-19 pandemic A COVID-19 committee was set up at the beginning of March 2020 to coordinate the development of business continuity plans (BCPs), disaster recovery plans (DRPs), follow them up and decide on any measures to be taken in response to pandemic-related developments. Between March 2020 and June 2021, there were eight versions of the BCP and one DRP to respond to different health protocols and ensure employee safety.
Personal protective measures Employees were informed about personal protective measures through a widespread communication campaign (posters, screens, Workplace, etc.). Hand sanitiser dispensers were installed at the entrances to buildings and in common areas (toilets, cafeterias, meeting rooms, open-space areas, etc.). Disposable cups were eliminated. Floor and furniture markings were introduced to clearly indicate social distancing rules to be observed. Plexiglass panels were installed in reception areas. Capacity limits were put in place in shared spaces. Cleaning of high-touch surfaces was increased to several times a day. A disinfection protocol was drawn up for swift decontamination after identification of a suspected or confirmed case of Covid-19. From April, employees working on site received a supply of disposable masks while sales teams received surgical and/or FFP2 masks.
4
C O V I D - 1 9 Business continuity The first BCP identified the company's crucial operations and the resources required to maintain them. Factory and laboratory activities were maintained and redirected to medical devices used to treat Covid patients. Insofar as possible, all employees worked from home. At head office, our customer service department and distribution centre also maintained an on-site presence to provide customer support and ensure product delivery. To maintain pleasant working conditions, the company funded 50% of a remote work package comprising a monitor, a keyboard and a USB hub. Employees were also able to avail of a very attractive price on an office chair for home. The digital transformation work already initiated by the IT department facilitated remote working through tools such as "Zscaler" or "Teams". To limit the flow of workers at the company's premises and in public transport outside of lockdown periods, work arrival and departure times were extended without compromising the observance of daily and weekly working hours. The shuttle bus that usually runs between Ecouen railway station and the Vygon/SIPV site was maintained and redeployed during the first lockdown to assure the home-work commute for certain employees who no longer had any transport solution.
Adapting to the situation Internal activities or events were suspended or cancelled: sport at work, osteopathy, quality of life at work sessions, Christmas meal, New Year ceremony, etc.). During lockdowns, the company cafeteria was closed. Employees working on site were given a meal allowance. To offset the cafeteria closure, food trucks set up in the company car park twice a week. This initiative not only provided an alternative catering solution but also supported local businesses. Intra- and inter-company training on site was mostly replaced by distance learning. Despite the difficult context, a lot of communication took place on Workplace enabling employees to stay in touch.
Volunteering and assistance Assisting others is a core value at Vygon. Several of our employees provided assistance during the first lockdown, whether internally to help with our main activities, i.e. manufacturing and shipping our products, or in healthcare facilities where our sales representatives who had previously worked in the medical sector provided assistance.
Covid bonus A bonus of €1,000 was paid out to reward employees working on site, corresponding to a total amount of €500,000.

Our investments in France Installation of chillers at our SIPV factory After the two factories in the North of France, the SIPV factory in Ecouen withdrew two chillers to replace them with two new ones using the less polluting gas R1234ZE. From now on, the heat produced by these chillers is recovered and injected into the hot water network to reduce the boiler's gas consumption. The boiler only operates when the outside temperature is below 5°C. The SIPV factory also took advantage of this project to install a centralised technical management system for the air handling units and the boiler. This system allows precise control over the installations, resulting in energy savings. This €540,000 project will reduce gas consumption by 20% at the Ecouen site

The VYSION project, our 5-year strategy Vygon has undergone a profound transformation over the past 10 years. Many challenges have been successfully met allowing the Group to continue to expand and invest. However, more challenges lie ahead. In a difficult context due to an increasingly competitive environment and growing regulatory constraints, it is essential for the Group to prepare for the future to maintain its growth and dynamism. VYSION is an enterprise-wide business plan in line with our company culture and our values involving employees from our various subsidiaries, our distributors, and also some of our customers to conduct a diagnostic review and set out our ambitions and strategic objectives. More than 250 employees were given the opportunity to express themselves at individual interviews or roundtable meetings, while 70 customers and distributors as well as 7 suppliers were also interviewed. Our strategic objectives have been broken down into 29 strategic projects for which the first groups will begin in 2021 bringing together a large number of employees according to their field of expertise.
An Anti-Corruption Code of Conduct in line with our company's values After the adoption of Vygon's Ethics Policy and to continue its deployment of the compliance programme,Vygon established an Anti-Corruption Code of Conduct. This code aims to set out the standards of conduct to be observed within the Group in relation to the fight against corruption. It outlines key concepts giving concrete examples. Any employee or external or occasional collaborator of the Group who is faced with a situation that they consider to be contrary to the principles and rules of the Internal Regulations, the Group Ethics Policy and/or the Anti-Corruption Code of Conduct, may directly alert one of their line managers, a manager of their entity, or the Compliance Officer, in full discretion.
Communication Vygon uses various media to reach out to its employees, including the Workplace communication platform, an internal magazine, posters, an intranet and briefing meetings. Our employees are regularly informed of the following: • Vacancies, internal transfers and new hires • Initiatives taken or advice given to improve health, safety and the environment at our sites • New products • Core business activities • Development work carried out at our sites • The company's different projects • Charity, community and sponsorship initiatives • The company's strategic decisions and results

Value Life sessions: the new way of communicating at Vygon The quarterly meetings led by Vygon CEO Stéphane Regnault presenting the company's performance, strategic directions and current / future projects, have been extended to all Group employees. Indeed, since the Workplace communication platform was introduced in June 2019, meetings have been filmed and can be watched on the Workplace platform with the live stream or replay feature by all employees, whatever their position in the company and their location in the Group. Since March 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this meeting is held online only, led by Stéphane Regnault directly from his office. This event gives all employees a live feed into the company's latest news, as well as the opportunity of proposing topics and taking part in a meeting that is open to everyone.

Professional development For our employees
Healthcare professionals
Vygon goes over and above its legal obligations by ploughing more than 3% of its payroll into its training budget. - 868 people trained in France in 2020 - 84.6% of employees in France have taken at least one course: representing a total of 9,588 hours of training at a cost of €541,743. - 8.7% of those trained were employees over the age of 45. - 64% of employees trained in 2020 were women.
Vygon opens its doors to apprentices and interns every year. They include future pharmacy assistants and healthcare professionals, who come to develop their knowledge of our company and the management practices at our factories. Following an internship in the medical sector also gives healthcare professionals a different perspective on medical devices by looking at them through the eyes of an industrial firm. These experiences are also beneficial for the production staff in direct contact with the people using our products.

Growing TOGETHER: Promoting individual development is how Vygon invests for the success of the entire company. For more than 50 years, each employee has contributed to building a unique company whose culture is based on innovation, product quality, customer service and respect for Vygon's own values and management principles. Growing TOGETHER builds on these foundations and adapts to the changes experienced by the company: the Group's internal and external growth, new sites and new markets. It also responds to new expectations and requirements arising within the company. New generations and new cultures are prompting us to overhaul our management practices by giving greater emphasis to cooperation, feedback, interactions and informal sessions, as well as greater guidance and formalisation. Growing TOGETHER helps each individual to grow and contribute towards the Group's collective success. It guides all employees in building their career plans within the company and in developing their skills. The gradual deployment of Talentsoft at Group level facilitates the sharing of best practices with regard to performance and skills management.
12
This is a first step towards giving everyone the opportunity to be more visible at Group level, thereby facilitating internal mobility. This year in France, 20% of job vacancies were filled internally.

Workplace equality Vygon is committed to maintaining equal pay and career development prospects for women and men with equal skills and performance. Our "comparative situation reports" confirm that there are no significant differences in remuneration between women and men within the Group or discrimination in terms of career development. Workplace equality agreements are applied at each of our sites.
Mobility and career development Vygon supports and encourages its employees to develop their career prospects, particularly through internal transfers both in France and abroad. Employees transferring within the Group receive special support and care.
I
joinedVygon in 2015, first as a packaging manager in the Industrial Division. I was in charge of developing packaging for Vygon CE mark products that preserves device sterility up until boxes are palletised. This assignment involved supporting the BUs on the packaging aspects of their various projects, rationalisation of materials used, label management, and validation of the packaging in a stringent regulatory context. The head office industrial teams have been expanded over the years to actively contribute to harmonising Group practices, to provide support to our factories on projects involving the Business Units and to improve our qualification and validation process. In 2020, I had the opportunity to take up an internal transfer by joining the Methods team as a Group Methods Engineer. My new role allows me to apply the knowledge I've already acquired on packaging processes while learning about the many other processes used at Vygon. The fact that I had an already-established network of contacts facilitated execution of the first few projects, despite the lockdown context. At the Group Methods Department, we follow up on projects involving the Industrial Division and Business Units, we manage the qualification and validation process for industrial tools, and we work on many inter-factory projects relating to continuous improvement, cost reduction and standardisation. For example, one of the subjects I worked on involved reviewing manufacturing documents to meet quality and regulatory requirements and make company data more reliable. Although I’m not in direct contact with the users of our products, I appreciate the fact that Vygon is a patientfocused company. Regardless of our profession, we’re all aware that our actions have an impact on the care chain. This is what I like and it makes my day-to-day job meaningful. Cassandra Him Group Methods Engineer

Our values Human values form the backbone of our organisation, and Vygon enforces the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact among its various entities and its partners in terms of human rights, labour (freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, elimination of forced labour, abolition of child labour, and elimination of discrimination), the environment (precautionary approach, promotion of environmental responsibility, and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies) and anti-corruption.
An internal campaign building on our values There is something deeply entrenched in our history, something that inspires our projects, something that remains unchanged. That something is our system of values. It is our company's ethical signature. In a world where the rate of change is continually gaining pace, these values keep us on track to realise our ambitions and unite all the men and women who work at Vygon. We realised that while these values well and truly exist, we had never really set them down in writing and that it was important, for all of us, to make them visible and be proud of them: integrity, commitment, open-mindedness, the drive for continuous improvement, respect for one another.
A communication campaign was therefore organised internally to honour public figures who embody our values better than anyone else in the history of humanity. Scientists, intellectuals, historically-important political figures, each in their own way they have exemplified the values we espouse. Their names? Gandhi, Darwin, Marie Curie. Our values are instilled in all new employees and are taught as part of our management principles during internal management training.

Training for back-up response team members The back-up response team plays a vitally important role within the company. Members are required to complete a qualification-based firefighting course and are familiar with the different stages involved in delivering a coordinated team response. There are nine "company firefighters" at the Ecouen sites (head office, French subsidiary and SIPV factory) and seven at the Verneuil-en-Halatte site (warehouse and sterilisation). Twice a year, team members take part in a training course where they are required to tackle a real fire.

Vygon spares no effort when it comes to its determination to provide employees with the best possible working conditions. For several years, we have been redesigning and rearranging our different sites to ensure a premium work environment for our employees. Special care has also been taken to improve the ergonomic design of our workstations and thereby make certain activities less strenuous. Several ergonomic studies are carried out in liaison with the methods and production departments, as well as with qualified human factors experts and occupational health services. Multiskilling is also developed, so that employees can carry out activities at a number of different workstations, which tackles musculoskeletal disorders, keeps employees focused and alert, and improves product quality. All ergonomic studies share the same goal of reducing the risk of occupational disorders. These initiatives have resulted in a low number of work-related accidents at our sites and improved well-being in the workplace, bearing in mind that our workforce includes a high proportion of long-serving employees. The number of work-related lost-time injuries fell by 58% between 2019 and 2020. The frequency rate for all our French sites combined is 6.13 compared to a national rate of 9.10 for the sector. The severity rate for all our French sites combined is 0.50 compared to a national rate of 0.90 for the sector. Vygon is currently striving to improve the work-life balance by accepting requests for part-time work (the company does not impose part-time work).

Vygon e-learning Vygon has produced an e-learning platform, so that employees can train online. The system was initially used to provide our sales representatives with training on our product ranges, but the HSE Department lost no time in developing the platform further by adding an Introduction to Health, Safety and Environment module in January 2018. This module is available for all of Vygon’s French-speaking sites. It is run locally by the site's HSE manager or can be monitored remotely. Creating an online version of the Introduction to HSE course allows managers to keep better track of training statistics and eliminates paper assessments at the end of the session, which are being phased out in favour of digital tablets. At the present time, 1584 users have enrolled on the e-learning platform, which is continuing to grow.
Health cover increasingly tailored to employee needs Each year Vygon develops its health cover by offering benefits that are increasingly tailored to employee needs and simplified services to track out-of-pocket costs and find out the maximum reimbursement for a healthcare procedure in just one click. In 2020, the average coverage rate for health expenses was 95 %, taking into account the amounts reimbursed by the French social security scheme and Vygon's private health insurance scheme.

Employee-centric HR tools All Vygon employees in France can access a collaborative portal from any computer, smartphone or tablet. After signing into a secure area, employees can respond to any administrative requests online and in real time, or they can simply modify their address, bank account details or any other personal information. Employees can also access their counters (hours worked, time off in lieu, holidays, etc.) and their rosters, and submit their leave requests directly online. Since 2015, a Total Rewards Statement (TRS) has been produced for each executive. This comprehensive and individualized document details the total compensation and benefits received by each employee. This innovative tool provides an insight into the Group's compensation policy.
A new, more agile company retirement savings plan Each Vygon employee has a supplementary pension scheme funded entirely by the company. This will allow each employee to receive a higher pension than on the basic state scheme. In a context marked by increased worker mobility, non-linear careers and the debate on the future of pension funding, Vygon always aims to keep as close as possible to best practices in social welfare. The new company retirement savings plan allows each employee to: - Make early withdrawal of their assets resulting from voluntary contributions without any conditions regarding age or duration to purchase their principal residence. - Transfer their assets accumulated to date under old schemes at Vygon or at previous employers. - Deduct voluntary contributions from their income tax. - Receive Vygon's contributions as capital if the total amount does not exceed €30,000. - Avail of customised fund management with the possibility of choosing between 5 financial products.
E-payslips Since October 2017, our employees have had the choice of receiving their payslips in electronic format. Every month, almost half of our employees receive their payslips in a personal electronic safe. Not only are e-payslips practical, but they also help reduce our impact on the environment. Our employees can also use the platform for their personal documents.

The onboarding programme: a crucial step Onboarding is a key step for our employees in their career at the company. Indeed, this phase is decisive for each employee's subsequent professional life. We pay special attention to defining a personalised onboarding programme to ensure a positive experience. We support them in their new work environment so they can quickly settle into their job and find their bearings. In 2020, the generalisation of remote working in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on our onboarding programme. As part of a drive to continuously improve our internal processes, in November 2020 we conducted an online survey on onboarding of newcomers to assess our current programme, identify areas for improvement and make the necessary adjustments. For this first survey, we interviewed newcomers from the last two years and their managers. The results were very positive: 90.6% of the employees surveyed are satisfied, or very satisfied, with the initial welcome. 73.6% of new employees find their onboarding programme interesting, inspirational and useful. The results of the survey on onboarding of new employees allowed us to introduce some adjustments and provide a new programme, which is currently underway.

Vygon is committed to protecting personal data! On 25 May 2018, a new European regulation came into force to support the wide-ranging digital changes sweeping our societies. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was enacted in April 2016 and defines a framework for increasing the protection of personal data. Faced with GAFAM’s growing dominance (Google, Amazon, Facebook, Apple and Microsoft) and the spate of scandals involving massive personal data leaks, Europe wanted to implement a data protection tool with unprecedented reach to reinforce the privacy of its citizens. The main principles involve pro-
18
moting greater transparency, improving protective measures for children and setting up a one-stop shop to address such issues. The regulation introduces new rights, tightens up existing rights and establishes the right to be forgotten. The European authorities are still defining the process for putting these measures into action, but the broad outlines are very much in evidence! In June 2017,Vygon launched a process to improve and secure data at every level of the company. Vygon is currently continuing its efforts to comply with the GDPR through an international action
plan encompassing all its production sites and partners.

Corporate sponsorship: Vygon demonstrates its commitment During 2020, Vygon donated €598,747 to various associations working almost exclusively for the healthcare sector.
Les Matins du Soleil Founded in 2008, Les Matins du Soleil is a humanitarian association that supports development, education and care for people living in Niger, one of the poorest countries in the world. The association sets up sustainable projects to help inhabitants find the means to live in their country (installing water pumps to irrigate their plantations and feed the population or livestock, taking part in repairing and consolidating community wells, installing grain mills, building schools, carrying out healthcare, prevention and health education roadshows in camps and villages far from health centres, and so on). Vygon has been lending its support to the association since its creation and makes donations every year, so that these specific initiatives can be implemented out in the field.
Château d’Écouen For many years,Vygon has been working to protect and develop Ecouen's cultural heritage (where the company's head office is located), represented in particular by the Château d'Ecouen, which is home to collections from the National Renaissance Museum.Vygon supports the castle's exhibitions every year.

Our commitments
Once again this year, World Prematurity Day garnered great support from Vygon's teams around the world In 2020 for the sixth year running,Vygon took part in World Prematurity Day in France on 17 November. Every year, 15 million children are born prematurely around the world. This event, the brainchild of our partner EFCNI (European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants), aims to raise awareness of the challenges inherent in premature birth through various initiatives organised within renowned French and international hospitals. World Prematurity Day is an opportunity for Vygon’s neonatology teams to discuss with parents and healthcare professionals, especially using feedback from parents who have experienced hospitalization with a premature baby, videos and demonstrations of medical devices. Year after year, this initiative galvanises a growing number of our distributors and subsidiaries into
action across the world, including Ireland, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Japan, Philippines, Vietnam, Taiwan, Malaysia, Cambodia, Australia, Peru, China,Thailand, Indonesia, India, Qatar, Lebanon, South Africa, Turkey, Tunisia and Portugal.

First participation in World Cancer Day by Vygon teams in 2020 World Cancer Day (WCD) is an initiative by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). Each year on 4 February, this event aims to unite people the world over in a common goal: to put cancer high on the global health agenda and to promote greater equity in patient care by speaking out positively under one voice. As a medical device manufacturer, we join forces with healthcare professionals to care for their patients, so it is a natural step for us to join this initiative to help raise awareness. Cancer being the second-leading cause of death in the world, Vygon has made a priority out of the fight against this disease, which affects all of us directly or indirectly. Our slogan, Value Life, illustrates our strong and sincere commitment to this cause. All together, we focus our day-to-day efforts on developing and designing increasingly high-performance, user-friendly products for patients in collaboration with oncology specialists and experts: surgeons, anaesthetists and nurses. For this first participation, which we organised in February 2020 at our head office in Ecouen and at our site in Ivry-le-Temple in France’s Oise region, we were honoured to have as our ambassador Yannick Agnel, world champion swimmer and gold medallist at the London 2012 Olympic Games. We were also pleased to welcome Mariano Capuano, Head of Donor Relations and Fundraising Events at the Gustave Roussy Institute, and his colleague Alexis Imbert, a nutritionist and dietician, for some very instructive nutrition workshops for Vygon staff. Other events were organised by our teams locally around the world. In the Covid-19 context, where continuation of care is sometimes difficult, it is important to remain mobilised for the most vulnerable and to support them in their daily struggle.

Vygon supports the association SOS Préma About SOS Préma SOS Préma is a French parents’ association that endeavours to: • support families going through the life-altering event of having a premature child. • ensure that each premature child in France has the best possible opportunity to grow and thrive. • represent the voice of the families vis-à-vis public authorities and advocate for their rights. • SOS Préma works closely with healthcare teams to make these goals a reality. Why did Vygon choose to support SOS Préma? Vygon has been active in the neonatology field for over 40 years, developing high-tech, single-use medical devices designed in cooperation with the healthcare profession. SOS Préma’s work is in line with Vygon's goal of helping healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care for premature babies. Giving these babies the best start in life requires a team effort on an everyday basis. What joint actions are planned for 2021? • Healthcare Workers Event (7 and 8 October 2021) This event is aimed at all healthcare workers specialising in prematurity. It mostly involves testimonials from parents of premature babies.Through this sharing of experiences, healthcare workers gain a better understanding of prematurity with a view to improving quality of care.Vygon will actively participate in this event with a stand. • “Course des Héros” charity race (June 2021) This race, organised in four French towns as well as online, brings together 400 associations and 400 companies to raise funds for numerous causes. It is a great opportunity to take part in an altruistic sporting event to support the work of SOS Préma throughout France. Vygon employees will be encouraged to participate in this challenge in 2021 alongside SOS Préma. • World Prematurity Day (17 November 2021) Like every year since 2015, Vygon will observe World Prematurity Day in France and around the world. This will be an opportunity to organise even more events in France in partnership with SOS Préma.
The safe-enteral.com website specifically dedicated to enteral nutrition In April 2017, Vygon launched safe-enteral.com, a dedicated website for safety connectors and the associated therapeutic implications. Vygon has developed the website to clue healthcare personnel into the benefits of the new ENFit™ standardised enteral connector and its potential risks when used with premature babies. After spending several years involved in creating the ISO 80369-3 standard, which defines the new safety connector, and leveraging over 10 years' experience in neonatology, Vygon is offering an extensive range of ENFit™ products but has also decided to maintain Nutrisafe 2, its dedicated range for premature and newborn babies for its accurate dosing. "As a specialist in medical devices for enteral nutrition,Vygon felt it should offer a full range of safety products from neonates to adults, in accordance with the new standard," says Stéphane Regnault, Chairman of Vygon's Management Board. "However, our teams regularly work alongside hospital staff and were alerted to the need for accurate dosing for enteral nutrition for the very smallest patients, who weigh

between 750 g and 2 kg. That is why we created safe-enteral.com to answer questions from medical staff and raise awareness about the risks of potential overdose via enteral tube therapy." The site is currently available in six languages.

This association features a number of local economic
players, councillors and company directors, including Reynald Lespinas, Director of the SIPV factory and representative for the Vygon Group.

ISO 13485:2016 ISO 13485 is an international standard that specifies the requirements for a quality management system in the field of medical devices. In other words, it is an ISO 9001 standard for medical devices. In 2016, a new version of ISO 13485 was released: the regulatory approach was strengthened, some requirements were made more explicit and others were added. Manufacturers were given three years to align with the new requirements. Early 2018, our renewal audit was conducted against the criteria of the new standard, following which we were awarded ISO 13485:2016 certification.

Car-sharing to reduce travel Vygon is an international group with a host of sites. In a bid to minimise the impact of business travel on the environment, Vygon has implemented a whole range of videoconferencing systems. In 2015, the Group introduced a professional car-sharing service for employees. This service is open to everyone and helps provide a simpler, freer and more modern form of mobility. In 2020, the car-sharing system notched up 35,262 km. Furthermore, employees owning an electric or hybrid vehicle can plug them into one of the charging points in Vygon’s car parks.
Bicycle commuting To encourage the use of low-polluting means of transport, Vygon compensates the kilometres travelled by regular and electric bicycles for all employees.
Employee engagement Employees are alerted to the latest environmental initiatives every month through newsflashes, and courses are regularly organised to address specific needs. The environment is an integral part of daily life for our employees. Learning is key to turning best practices into second nature. On arrival, all new employees follow an onboarding programme that systematically includes a Health, Safety and Environment training module to raise their awareness and engage them with the Group's HSE policy.

ISO 14001:2015 Renewal of ISO 14001 certification In November 2020, an audit took place for renewal of our ISO 14001:2015 certification. Obtaining renewal of our certificate continues to reward the extensive work commenced by our teams almost 10 years ago. During this audit, the auditor noted a number of strengths, including • staff involvement and their sound knowledge of environmental risks, prevention methods and instructions; • resources deployed for storing chemicals; • energy-saving projects.
Reducing the impact of our products on the environment Eco-design principles are an integral part of Vygon’s HSE policy. We are gradually reducing the environmental impact of our medical devices by adopting an eco-design approach to our packaging (blister packaging) and manufacturing processes (such as solvent-free UV adhesive).
Eco-friendly paper Paper consumption has decreased by 8% between 2019 and 2020 and, in addition, our consumption continues to shift towards products with a lower environmental impact. In 2020, 52% of paper purchased will be eco-friendly (eco-efficient, eco-label or from sustainably managed forests) compared to 47% in 2019. The proportion of recycled paper we use has also increased from 9% in 2019 to 17% in 2020.

Preventing pollution Setting up waste management practices is an effective way of shrinking the environmental footprint of our activities. For instance, each type of waste (chemical, electronic, etc.) is sent to the appropriate treatment centre. A programme is also being developed to monitor air, water and noise emissions. Procedures to ensure operational control during emergency situations have also been set up and are tested at regular intervals. Since 2016, the Group's response to gas leaks and accidental spills has also been tested.
New charging stations Vygon expanded its infrastructure of electric charging stations with the installation of 10 new charging points at the Ecouen site. This project costing over €23,000 has led to the Vygon Group now having 26 charging points for electric vehicles. In 2020, these electric charging stations provided 15,831 kWh of charging power to both company and staff vehicles, representing approximately 105,541 km covered and 13,722 kg of CO2 emissions avoided.
More charging points are planned with the logistics hub to be equipped in 2021. • 4 electric vehicles (5 in 2019) • 16 hybrid vehicles (5 in 2019) • Installation of 10 additional electric charging stations

Let's recycle our waste The Vygon site in Ecouen produces nearly 130 tons of ordinary waste every year. Part of the waste is already transformed into energy, but some could also be recycled as raw materials. The procurement, communication and work environment departments have joined forces to lead a project aimed at sorting and separating waste in the offices and encouraging greater involvement from Vygon’s employees. Our graphic designers have produced fun illustrations to show which waste goes into which bins, and they have also created an animation explaining the instructions for sorting and separating waste. The procedure is intended to be as simple as possible: recyclables go "here" and everything else goes "there". Individual bins have been replaced with collective sorting areas. This additional action for the environment reflects Vygon's ambition of reducing its impact on the planet.

Waste recycling and social responsibility For many years, Vygon has been working locally with a disability-positive company to treat some of its waste, namely waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), paper, cartridges and batteries. This partnership improves social integration for disabled workers while protecting the environment.
Fight against waste We use indicators to control and keep a close eye on our water, gas and electricity use, and thereby prevent any discrepancies. Using and sending electronic documents considerably curbs our paper consumption. Every year, Vygon is focused on reducing its paper use by 10%.The company has put a number of measures into practice, such as digitising documents and monitoring consumption. Videoconferencing systems are regularly used for national and international meetings in an effort to rein in our travel. In 2020, approximately 30% of the total volume of orders in France were processed in EDI format (a completely electronic process) compared to 17% in 2015. All our product brochures and datasheets are digitised in our Vylink system.

Our commitments These commitments reflect our desire to model our business activities on the expectations of our various stakeholders (employees, customers, suppliers, service providers and local communities).
Promoting our values Human values form the backbone of our organisation – Vygon enforces the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact among its various entities in terms of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. Long-term relationships We guarantee the safety of our products – Vygon ensures that every tier of the company is consistently focused on the highest quality to guarantee that the millions of products used worldwide every year are flawless. Vygon products are continually updated to meet the increasingly stringent regulations governing the medical devices sector. Ensuring the health and safety of both patients and practitioners is always a top priority at Vygon. We are committed to a long-term strategy and vision - Vygon is a family-owned Group whose stability and shareholders' commitment are instrumental for investing in the long term, and prioritising quality and innovation over short-term profitability. As such, we can guarantee our customers and employees a future-proofed company. Each year, more than 70% of Vygon SA’s profits are pumped back into the Group, especially research & development and production facilities.
We create jobs in the countries where our Group is active – Vygon has seen its workforce increase by 50% in 10 years to reach 2335 employees in 2020 through internal and external growth. This growth has been achieved while respecting and maintaining jobs in all our manufacturing and sales subsidiaries. We foster partnerships and support local economic development – Vygon and the Curie Institute signed a partnership agreement in 2010 (extended in 2013) to develop a new generation of medical devices and consequently make an active contribution to improving care for cancer patients. In addition, Vygon is strongly involved at the local level and has chosen to operate as close to its customers as possible. For example, its factories are mostly located in Europe and the United States, not far from its development centres and markets.
Protection of the environment We protect the environment - Vygon took its first steps towards ISO 14001 certification many years ago. The first ISO 14001 certificate was obtained in 2003 and renewed in 2020. As part of its development, the Group ensures that all new infrastructures are built to reflect HQE criteria and blend seamlessly into their environment. We reduce our environmental impact – Vygon pays special attention to environmental criteria as early as the design and development of its products. This is why Vygon implemented an eco-design policy for packaging in 2013. In addition, each type of waste is forwarded to the appropriate type of treatment centre. We respect applicable environmental requirements – Vygon works alongside experts in gathering intelligence on applicable environmental legislation, so that it can track and comply with all the latest changes. Our "Value Life" signature is much more than a philosophy: It conveys our commitment to harness the skills and energy of all our employees so that we can rest assured that we are fully deserving of our customers' trust.
