Context According to a study published in 2008, ICU patients receive on average 13 different medications per day, 7 of which being given intravenously. Another study about Critical Environment revealed in 2003 that over a 24-hour period, an average of 178 activities were required for a single patient, and that a single nurse carried out 84% of these tasks.
