Vygon in the world

OUR STORY Pierre Simonet founded Vygon in France in 1962. He was one of the first to introduce the concept of disposable medical equipment. Shortly thereafter, the company established subsidiaries in Europe, the United States, India, South America, and more. Today it is present worldwide. Vygon also relies on many production units, starting with its first plant in France and continuing on to its latest, brand-new plant that opened in Portugal in 2015.

Boussignac CPAP is a device for respiratory assistance for spontaneously breathing patients, enabling the continuous delivery of oxygen (or air) maintaining positive end expiratory pressure (PEEP) in the respiratory system. Boussignac CPAP is compatible with all face masks, endotracheal tubes and tracheostomy tubes (via a green adapter code 555.01) which comply with ISO 5356-1; it does not hinder the insertion of a suction catheter and can be used by a first aid worker as well as by a clinical specialist.

8

This device acts as a virtual valve, which is created by the acceleration of oxygen flow through the micro channels of the device. Boussignac CPAP is fitted with an integral oxygen connection tube. The translucent colourless port can be used for: • controlling the generated pressure (use the manometer connector) • monitoring EtCO2 • adding oxygen

5576 bougie Boussignac

PVC tube with low-pressure cuff. Adjustable fixation collar.

Oro-tracheal flexible guide for difficult endotracheal intubation (Cormack superior to 2) with duct for oxygen injection and oxygen connector.

Quantity box/case: 1/90

bougie Boussignac features 2 ducts: • The first duct (transparent) is closed at the proximal end and open at the distal end. • The second duct (green, code 5576.01 or blue, code 5576.02) is open at the proximal end and closed at the distal end. An opening of the coloured duct at the coude level allows passage of the oxygen. The delivery of oxygen is confirmed by an audible whistle. In case of spasm, decompression openings will avoid any risk of barotrauma, allowing oxygen to pass out of the main tube. bougie Boussignac is available in 3 sizes (see neonatal bougie at www.vygon.com)

Boussignac CPR system

6508 Boussignac CPR system The Boussignac CPR system is an endotracheal tube equipped with 5 microcapillaries for continuous insufflation of oxygen. During cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, the green extension tube is connected to a source of oxygen. When passing through the microcapillaries built within the wall of the endotracheal tube, the speed of injection of the oxygen is hugely accelerated. The 5 jets of gas exit at the distal end of the tube and the collision of these 5 jets creates a turbulence generating a « virtual valve ». Continuous insufflation of 15 L/min of oxygen through the microcapillaries generates a positive intra-pulmonary pressure. A single resuscitator can perform continuous external cardiac massage, as it is not necessary to interrupt cardiac massage for ventilation. Because there is no interruption of chest compressions, both cerebral perfusion pressure and coronary perfusion pressure are preserved. Oxygen enters passing through the microcapillaries, air (during the chest compression phase) exits passing the internal lumen of the tube, thus any risk of barotrauma due to non-synchronisation between the resuscitator performing chest compressions and the resuscitator ventilating the patient is avoided. Other benefits: • F acilitates the pulmonary mechanism of CO2 elimination and oxygenation without interrupting cardiac massage • I mproves overall hemodynamics by continuous supply of oxygenated blood to organs and tissues •P reservation of the functional residual capacity (FRC) allowing the prevention of alveolar collapse by insufflation of a constant flow of oxygen to keep the alveoli open. •P revention of rib and sternum fractures often caused by chest compressions. Characteristics of the Boussignac CPR system: - Transparent PVC tube with radiopaque line - 5 micro-capillaries for continuous intra-tracheal insufflation of oxygen - 1 capillary for inflating the low pressure cuff - 2 capillaries for capnometry and/or pressure monitoring and/or injection of medication - Green extension tube (200 cm long) to connect the device to the source of oxygen and fitted with an "anti-connection" device. In case of ROSC (return of spontaneous circulation), the green extension tube is removed and the lateral opening on the proximal adaptor can be occluded with the green cap provided. The proximal adaptor is a standard 15 mm male adaptor which allows to connect the Boussignac CPR system to a mechanical ventilator.

Each pack contains a separate lid for safe sealing and transport of the aspirate. Supplied with an adaptor code 816 (see below) and a connecting tube for the vacuum source (code 536.xx only).

Protected distal bronchial sampling 538 aspisafe2

Double catheter for bronchoalveolar lavage for diagnosis of ventilator-associated pneumonia. The distal end of the external (radiopaque) catheter is closed by a polyethylene glycol plug allowing protected distal bronchial sampling.

While aspisafe2 code 538.25 is introduced blindly through an ET tube in the airways, aspisafe2 code 538.34 is inserted through the tubing of a bronchoscope for a precise sampling location in the lungs.

At the proximal end, there is a spacer between the external and internal catheters to avoid premature expulsion of the polyethylene glycol plug.
