Theburnerbodyisofasplitdesign whichallowsforeaseofaccessto theburnerinternalcomponents.The airtotheburnerisdrawnintothe burnerbyahigh-performanceradial fan.

Theblowerfanisdrivenbyan externallymountedthreephase motor.Duetothetwo-partdesign featureoftheburneritispossibleto serviceandreplacethecombustion chamber,lance,swirlplateand ignitionelectrodeswithminimal effort.

Thestainless-steelalloycombustion chamberandthefixedairdirector canwithstandtemperaturesupto 1110°Cor2012°F.Theburnerhasa viewingwindowforflame observation.

TheVulcanrangehasbeen developedforvariousheating applicationsandparticularlyforthe productionofasphalt.Theburners canbemountedhorizontally,in-line orcanbeangleduptoorientation.

Thedualfuelrangecanbeused withPFO,Kerosene,LFO,Natural Gas,LNGorLPG.Acombinationof fuelsisofferedandotherfuel optionsareavailableonrequest.

Pressures. TheVulcan’sfuel liquidsystemoperatesatlow pressure.Theminimumoperating pressureisaslowas8bar/116psi.Ithas ahighturndownratioof1:7whileburning fueloiland1:8whileusingnaturalgas.

DESIGN. Theburnerisdesignedtocompletelyseperateatthebodymidsection.Thisallowsagenerous workingspacedirectlyintotheinternalsoftheburner.ThisfeatureisuniquetoVulcanburners,makingroutine maintenanceextremelyeasy.Accesstotheinternalsoftheburnerisinstantwithnowaitngforthedryertocool downbeforechecksarecarriedout.

AngledOption. Theburnerhasbeendesignedasan alternativereplacementforanytypeofasphaltplant.Therefore, toovercomeproblemssuchasplatformspaceandexistingplant design,theburnercanbesituatedatanyangletothedryer.Thishas provenverypopularintheretrofitmarketandisjustoneofthemany innovatedfeaturesoftheVulcanburner.Thedesignstillallowsforfull internalinspectionastheburnerstillsplitsevenwithanangledsection.

AutomaticControl. Precisecontrolofthe combustionprocessisachievedviaaMindsburner managementsystem.Mindstakescompletecareof thecontroloftheburner,ensuringthepositionofthefuelvalve ispreciselycontrolledto0.1degreeofaccuracy,thusensuring combustionefficiencyisoptimisedthroughoutthefullfiring rangeoftheburner.Reducedelectricalconsumptionandfan controlisachievedthroughtheuseofavariablefrequency drive.

ExcessAir. Alltheairrequiredforcombustionis providedbythehighlyefficientblowerfan.Theburneris fullysealedattheburnerendboxbytheexternal combustionchamber.Theairpressuresystemwithinthe combustionheadismonitoredandcontrolledviatheMinds B.M.S.Duetothenatureofasphaltplantdesign,excessairis verydifficulttocontrolandiseverpresent.Theinclusionofthis featureintheVulcandesignisparamounttotheoutstanding efficiencyresultsthatareachieved.

FuelOptions. NaturalGas,Propane,FuelOil, includingHeavyandRecycledOils,LPGandLNGwith theoptionforacombinationofanythreefuels.The liquidfuelmodeliscomplimentedbythepatentedVulcan regulatorvalve.Thevalveisdesignedtocreateadirectfuel feedtotheburner,eliminatingtheneedforanyfuel changeovervalvesormanifoldsinthepipework.Asingleor doublefuelvalveoptionisavailable.Thedualoptionallows bothfuelstobeoptimisedforcompletecombustionatalltimes. Bothfuelscanbeusedtogether.

Components. Concernsrelatingtoreplacementpartshavebeen addressed,availabilityandcostswereparamountinthedesign concept.Downtimeassociatedwithreplacementpartsisamajor concerntherefore,theVulcancomprisesofstandardofftheshelf components,withtheexceptionofthefuelregulationvalveandfuellance, otherwiseeverythingelsecanbeobtainedlocallytoyoursite.Thisgives freedomandchoicetothecustomer.

LongNose. TheversatilityoftheVulcandesign makesitanidealchoicewhenselectinga replacementburnerfordryersthatprocessRAP. ThelongnoseVulcancanbeutilisedforanydryerthat hasanextendedtubeforcontainmentoftheflame.The VulcanlongnoseburnerissuitableforallAstecplantsand adirectreplacementforHauckburners.

SurfaceMounted. Thesurfaceburnerrangeisthesecond generationoftheVulcandesign.Thecombustionchamberislocated outsidethedryingdrum.Thereareanumberofkeyadvantagessuchas avoidanceofcontaminationtotheflame.Thisensuresacleanburnandlow emissions.Thecompleteburnerincludingthecombustionchambercanbefully retractedawayfromthedryer,givinginstantaccessintothedryingdrum.
