




The Jaguar Promise is a last-dollar promise program that awards FREE tuition, fees and books* to eligible first-year and transfer students!
Top 10%
Graduating within the top 10% of your graduating class from high school in Texas.
Early College HS
Graduating from a TEA Designated Early College High School with at least 30 credit hours.
Transfers
Earned an associate’s degree or 60 credit hours and has a family AGI of $70,000 or less.
Top 35%
Graduating within 11-35% of your graduating class from a high school in Texas and has a family AGI of $70,000 or less.
All students must be Texas Residents, must be enrolled full-time and must have graduated from a Texas high school. Eligibility criteria is subject to change.

What does the Jaguar Promise cover?
The Jaguar Promise is a last-dollar promise program that covers any remaining costs for tuition, fees and books* after possibly grants, scholarships and waivers are applied (excluding loans). If there’s a remaining balance, we will fulfill our promise to cover the remaining cost of tuition & fees. *A book stipend of $300 per semester will be provided as part of the Jaguar Promise.
Am I eligible for additional scholarships on top of the Jaguar Promise?
Yes! All institutional and external scholarships will first be applied to the total cost of tuition, fees and books; any remaining balance will then be covered by the Jaguar Promise. Any extra scholarships can then be used for housing, food, transportation and living expenses.
Why do I need to be a Texas resident for this program?
The Jaguar Promise is partially funded by Federal Pell and Texas State grants. To be eligible, students must meet all Texas state residency requirements and must have graduated from a Texas high school.
When does the Jaguar Promise begin?
The Jaguar Promise program is available for eligible students enrolling in the Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 semesters. Those starting in Summer 2025 are not eligible. Jaguar Promise is renewable for up to 4 years if you maintain eligibility, and you do not need to reapply each year.
Am I eligible if I have already earned a bachelor’s degree?
Congratulations, but not at this time. The Jaguar Promise program only covers those who are attentding A&M-San Antonio for the first-time and have not yet earned a bachelor's degree.
Do I have to attend Alamo Colleges to be eligible for the Jaguar Promise?
No, the Jaguar Promise program is open to any transfer who has attended any community college and is a current Texas resident.
