VT state’s attorneys endorse Ted Kenney Saying it was time for a change in protecting the public, four current and former Vermont state’s attorneys endorsed Ted Kenney Monday afternoon in the primary contest for the Chittenden County State’s Attorney. Current state’s attorneys James Hughes (Franklin County) and Douglas DiSabito (Grand Isle County), as well as former Chittenden County state’s attorneys Lauren Bowerman and Bob Simpson, issued a joint statement supporting Kenney in the Aug. 9 Democratic primary.

All four are Democrats. It is unusual for sitting state’s attorneys to endorse a candidate in another county in a contested primary. The group is familiar with the work of Kenney, who has been a lawyer for 30 years and served most recently as a divisional chief for the Vermont Attorney General’s Office.
