Voorhees College holds 2019 National Alumni Association Convention

The Voorhees College National Alumni Association (VCNAA) recently held its convention in Augusta, Ga. The three-day event engaged alumni members about the happenings at Voorhees. David Miller, VCNAA president, said the convention provides an opportunity to network and keep abreast of fellow alumni members. “I want to thank the alumni members for supporting everything the association and institution has done this year. I also want to salute President W. Franklin Evans, Dr. Gwynth Nelson, and the Division of Institutional Advancement and Development for their service,” Miller said. During the convention, eight new members were inducted into the third class of the Young Alumni 10 Under 40 Program. The Class of 2019 inductees include Captain Dominique Abner, Quillie Hunt, Jr., Trayvone Johnson, Tiffany Jordan, Cory J. Mikel, Alisha Nicole Sparks, India Williams, and Delacroix Johnson (posthumously). In addition, there was a series of workshops and informational sessions and a “Denim and Diamond” affair. The convention concluded with a Sunday morning worship service at Beulah Grove Baptist Church where Reverend Dr. Sam Davis, alumnus and Board of Trustee member, is pastor.
