D

r. Rasheed Adedoyin Ismaila Otun professionally known as, Otun Rasheed studied and taught at the Department of Creative Arts, Faculty of Arts, University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria. His areas of interest include Dramaturgy, Playwriting, Traditional, and Contemporary African Drama.

Dr. Rasheed has presented scholarly papers at several local and international conferences and has papers published in reputed journals. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Theatre and Film Studies, University of Georgia, Athens, US (2012 to 2013); Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky, US (2017-2019); and a two-time alumnus of the prestigious Andrew Mellon Fellowship sponsored annual summer program at the School of Theater and Performance Research at Harvard University, Cambridge, Boston, USA (2018 and 2022). Dr. Rasheed has written, published, and directed several plays and has some of his stage plays now in films made by Nollywood, the Nigerian film industry. In 1999, his play, The Third World War was commissioned by the Lagos State Government and performed for all secondary schools in the state. He is the winner of the 2000 Bode Osanyin Award for the Best Graduating Student in Playwriting. In 2008, Arugba Osun was commissioned as the 2008 University of Lagos Convocation Play and was staged at the Main Auditorium, University ofLagos. The same play was also performed at the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana to mark the 48th independence anniversary of Nigeria. His plays continue to enjoy attention in higher institutions in Nigeria and abroad. The Gods Are Still Not to Blame was selected for staged reading at the 36th Comparative Drama Conference at Stevenson University,Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A. His play, From Idi-Araba to Akoka was performed as part of the activities marking the fifty years anniversary of the University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria. You Must Be Mad! Yes, You! (2016) has toured several institutions and was selected as part of the 2017 British Council/Lagos Theatre Festival. His other works include Wait Today, Our National Flag, We are Worse, Hired Mourners, etc. Dr. Rasheed is committed to the preservation of traditional African mores, worldviews, andfestivals, many of whom are fast dying and forever forgotten. He is the founder and coordinator of the annual TAFT (Traditional African Festival and Theatre) which involves the reenacted and dramatization of traditional African festivals. Some of the festivals already preserved include; Eyo Festival (Lagos State, Nigeria); Igue Festival (Edo State, Nigeria); Argungun Festival (Sokoto State, Nigeria); Leboku Festival (Cross Rivers State, Nigeria); Osun Osogbo Festival (Osun State, Nigeria); Ikeji Festival (Imo State, Nigeria); Igogo Festival (Ondo State, Nigeria); Iri ji Festival (Anambra State, Nigeria); Gelede Festival (Ogun State), Agba Festival (Lagos State), Khaghir Festival (Benue State, Nigeria); Oke Ibadan Festival (Oyo State, Nigeria) and several Egungun festivals. Dr. Rasheed is currently at the Department of Comparative Humanities, University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky, USA.

A

mos Girard Johnson, Jr. was born and raised in Louisville, KY. The son of a Baptist minister (father), and schoolteacher (mother), AJ (as he is known), excelled in music and art throughout his years in school. Heeventually became the pianist for his father’s church, after teachinghimself how to play the piano. After high school, AJ was given ascholarship to attend Eastern Kentucky University with a major in music performance, majoring on the alto saxophone and minoring on piano. At the age of 19, AJ decided to take a different direction in life and joined the United States Marine Corps, in which he achieved the rank of Corporal in 4-years. Because of his military occupation, he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps and obtain employment in California with the Space Shuttle program, by way of Rockwell International. After returning to Louisville in 1990, AJ decided to return to college, where he obtained a degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. He was hired by Motorola, where he achieved the position of a Senior Surface Mount Technician, repairing the front end of the UPS Total Tracking System. In 1999, he decided to use the knowledge that he had obtained and start his own computer networking and servicing company. He has successfully run his company to this day and looks forward to the daily challenges that he may face in this fast-changing industry. At 60-years old, AJ has no plans to slow down and hopes to one day, spread his level of education within the continent of Africa, where he will then call home.

Afterwards, she studied Library science Education B.L.S. at University of Ado Ekiti (UNAD). She relocated back to Ilorin & established a business enterprise known as BABEXVENTURES. a.k.a (OyeOlohun) which specialised principally on fabrics & small scale businesses. It was on this background when she got married and relocated to the USA, she continued with the BaBexVentures now dealing in Wholesales, Retails and Shipping services from USA to other parts of the world, in addition to her profession as a graduate of Associate Nursing of Censa International College FL. she is in the medical field. She married Chief (Prince) Kayode Olorunnisola and the marriage was blessed with children. She is equally a TREASURER of Eruku Progressive Union in the entire North America and Canada branches and a very active member of KSANG, Georgia chapter. O

luyemisi Oyelola was born on Tuesday, September 6, 1960 to the family of Late Retired Major David Olufemi Somefun and Late Madam Victoria Eniola Somefun both parents from ancient city of Abeokuta before relocation to Lagos Nigeria.

She started her Elementary School in Ladi Lak Primary School Alagomeji Yaba, Lagos, and later attended Egba High School, Asiro in Abeokuta. She later proceeded to Government Technical College, Abeokuta to study Catering and Hotel Management. Vibrant Oluyemisi was employed by Concord Press Newspaper in lkeja Nigeria as Catering Manager until 1991 before her migration to the United States of America to join her Husband. Upon her arrival in New York, she was worked as a Home Health Aide taking care of Elderly and Challenged individuals. In order to create a path to endless possibilities; Oluyemisi enrolled at Borough of Manhattan Community College in 1992 and completed her Associate Degree in Arts in 1995. She later transferred to New York City Technical College to complete her Bachelor's Degree in Human Services in year 2010. Oluyemisi Oyelola is currently working with Tri County Care as Cares Manager. A happy grandmother of Titilayo Oyelola, she is blessed with two boys; Michael a Master's Degree in Public Administration working as Administrative Officer with his alma mater and Olayinka studying Finance at Buffalo State. aron Lincoln Smith, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, is currently a teacher at Eastern High School where he works with multilingual learners.

His degrees include a B.A. in Religion from Centre College (2006), an M.S.Ed. in Literacy, Culture, and Language Education from Indiana University (2013), and an M.A.T. from Asbury University (2015) in English as a Second Language teaching. Mr.Smith resided in Japan from 2006 to 2012 where he taught English in public schools as part of both the Japan Exchange in Teaching Programme and the Interac Network. After returning from Japan, Mr.Smith has worked for Jefferson County Public Schools as an ESL teacher, first at Seneca High School (2012-2022), and now at Eastern High School, where he is a member of the Instructional Leadership Team, Literacy Committee, Racial Equity Committee, and the Eastern High School Alumni Association. He resides in Middletown with his wife Kyoko and their three children: Leon, Esther, and Lily.

He left government job in 1999 and started his own brand, Soundcheck Media in 2000, which has produced a lot of Radio and Television presenters and producers. A member of Association of Nigerian Authors. Member and first PRO of freelance and independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria. A Paul Harris fellow of Rotary club international. Mr Valentine Gbenga Olasehinde was the first presenter to bring Oba James Buremoh, the Onidera of Idera on TV after his accession to the throne. C

hief Engr Francis O’gaga Ugbo is an articulate individual who without mincing words accords high degree of respect to people of all cultures, religions and languages and he is well known for his dedication, resourcefulness, and professionalism in any activity he offers. To him, everyone is the same. Their is no discrimination in races and colour. He is of our own Nationality, a Nigerian, a Deltan and precisely an Urhobo speaking by dialect. He was born and brought up in his maternal home town, Okpara water side. He grew up in Sapele in Sapele LGA, the home town where The African Timber and Plywood (AT&P) was situated during the European administrative era, and usually attended the Cinema to watch his highness (Kabiyesi) at the Olympia Cinema as the Famous African Black Tiber. He met Kabieyesi physically for the first time while in active duty as a contract staff, under the Department of Homeland Security of the Immigration Service), at the African burial Ground museum, ABGM along with other principal officers the Nigerian extraction such as the then Nigerian ambassador to the US. And currently, he is the President and CEO, Frank Alloy, Inc. An Engineering consultancy firm situated in New York. And today he is in his 50’s. Chief Engr Francis O’gaga Ugbo, The “Aare Ataiyéshe” of Idera kingdom, is mostly known and considered a transformational leader because he is capable of sharing multiple ideas of whatever he might have learned, and thus re-distribute them to impact others. Apart from his early education, he had his first and second degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Akure. Ondo State and became an adjunct Professor with the Kebbi State Polytechnic after his NYSC. He believes in charismatic leadership, but with unreserved humility, prefers giving humane services to person within his immediate environment. His style relies on the charm and persuasiveness of first being a very good follower, and religiously, as a preacher, a teacher and an evangelist. He can blend conveniently with any form of social and political instincts, especially when challenged philosophically and psychologically. He is happily married with kids.

r. Mukaila Alagbe Kareem was born in Iwo, Osun State, Nigeria. He had his primary and secondary school education in Iwoland before he was admitted to the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, where he received the Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Physiotherapy in 1988. In 2013, he obtained a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Utica University, Utica, New York.

Combining his lived village experience and professional training, Dr. Kareem demystifies metabolism with his unique ability to explain how physical inactivity and excessive food consumption fuel modern chronic diseases such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes and heart diseases. He writes articles for some Nigerian newspapers and KevinMD, a leading USA social media on health for physicians. Mukaila is a member of African Christian Fellowship and the current president of the Community of Nigerians in Kentuckiana, (CONK). tunba (Dr.) Toba Oloyede is an innovative medical doctor, certified Information Systems Auditor, and advocate for youth leadership in politics. With extensive experience in IT compliance, cybersecurity, and auditing, Dr. Toba brings a unique perspective to the discussion on values-based political participation. He has worked in public accounting, financial services, and communications, gaining a deep understanding of enterprise risk management, business consulting, and IT strategy. Dr. Toba holds an MBA in Information Systems and Knowledge Management from California Intercontinental University, as well as an MD in Medicine from Windsor University School of Medicine. He is certified as a CISA, CRISC, CDPSE, and CISM. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Toba mentors young Africans in the US, particularly in information technology, nurturing the next generation of leaders. He has actively participated in politics since 2011, supporting the ACN and later APC through campaigns and rallies in Kwara South during elections from 2011 to 2023. Currently, Dr. Toba is an IT Audit Manager at Altria Client Services, overseeing IT audits, reviewing security protocols, and conducting tests of IT controls.
