Production is stable enough but has good prospects for growth taking into account activization of export demand. During the first half of 2016/17 MY, 1.12 million tonnes of flour were produced by 335 plants of various capacity. TOP-10 accounted for 41% in the total production. Timely upgrading allowed leading enterprises to increase their production significantly. The leader of the industry doubled its output.
ACTIVE EXPORT AND MARKET EXPANSION Ukrainian flour is exported to more than 80 countries with increasing demand each year. The main export market for Ukrainian flour is North Korea. In the first half of 2016/17 MY, the Republic bought 40% out of the total volume exported from Ukraine, directly or through intermediaries countries such as China. Ukraine gradually increases its supplies of flour to Africa: Angola, Somalia, Libya. Significant volumes are exported to UAE.

Beside that Asian market is very perspective for Ukrainian flour. This season flour has been exported to Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore and India. Ukrainian millers take part in the trade shows around the world where introduce local produced flour to potential buyers.
CLEAR COORDINATION OF ACTIONS – A TICKET TO SUCCESS The creation of the Union “Millers of Ukraine� played an important role in the development of the milling industry of Ukraine. Over 30 powerful milling enterprises of Ukraine are members of the union, which provide more than 50% of total flour production in the country and about 70% of its exports. The Union allowed to coordinate foreign markets expansion actions of key producers and represent industry interests in the government. Ukrainian millers belonging to the union were able to take part in the biggest world food exhibitions in Hong Kong, Indonesia and Tanzania. After participating in exhibitions, the shipments of Ukrainian flour to these regions increased significantly.
