To the 2016-2017 Senate of the USD Student Government Association: Senators, I hope you are reading this message after the veto message from President Steinlicht about Senate Resolution #23. I know some of you might be upset by the actions taken by our administration, but I stand by President Steinlicht’s decision wholeheartedly. This resolution has brought a lot of unwanted attention from around the state, specifically Pierre. President Steinlicht and I have been in countless meetings these past few weeks with members of the BOR and USD administration. These meetings have lead me to be very concerned about the future of funding for SGA and other much needed services on campus. If the Senate feels the need to override this veto, I would simply remind everyone that the resolution would go nowhere because of the change in administration.
