Congratulations to Brian White MBE on receiving his insignia as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire from His Excellency Neil Wigan OBE, Her Majesty's Ambassador to The State of Israel. Brian received his honour for his work as Chairman of The Nicky Alliance Community Centre and the wider community in last year’s Birthday Honours List.

The saplings were planted at a special ceremony by Karan Lee, a Deputy Lieutenant of Greater Manchester who has responsibility for promoting The Queen’s Green Canopy in the county. She said: “I was delighted to be invited to represent the Lord Lieutenant and plant the new trees on a day that coincided with a very special day for trees in the Jewish calendar. The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 which invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.

Known to many in the community as the former police commander for Bury, Karan toured The Centre and had lunch with the members.
