early two years after hurricanes Irma and Maria made landfall on Puerto Rico with devastating effects, the construction sector of the economy remains one of the fastest-growing industries, thanks to multi-million dollar funding meant to rebuild structures that can withstand nature’s blows more resiliently. THE WEEKLY JOURNAL interviewed Humberto Reynolds and Umberto Donato, director and first vice
president respectively, of the General Contractors Association’s Chapter in Puerto Rico (ACG by its Spanish initials), to discuss how recovery funds will contribute to the development and growth of a recovering economy, which has already reported gains in other areas. Donato mentioned that there are two areas within the industry with great potential for investment: infrastructure and housing.
