Help shape the future of Frome Gateway

Bristol City Council are working on a project to guide the long-term transformation of the land either side of the River Frome in St Jude’s, known as Frome Gateway.

They have been speaking to local residents, businesses, and landowners about their aspirations to create new homes, jobs and public spaces that better meet the needs of the city and the local community.

Over February and March, they hosted three in-person community workshops at Riverside Youth Project and one community walkabout nearby.

“It was great to speak to so many local people at our recent events. We’ve really enjoyed learning what people value in the area and what their ideas for change are. At this early stage in the project local people have the best chance to influence the long-term vision and strategy for change in the area. That’s why we’re encouraging anyone interested to get involved now”, said April Richmond, Community Development Practitioner at Bristol City Council. You can learn more about the project and keep up to date with future opportunities to get involved at www.fromegateway.co.uk. You can also contribute online by adding your ideas and comments to the interactive map.

Any questions are welcome by email at info@fromegateway.co.uk

In the coming months the Council will be reaching out to the community again to discuss and build on the outcomes of the first stage of engagement. This will include a new round of events to begin scoping early options for regeneration plans in the area.
