Bienvenidos de nuevo a nuestra revista, VermonTic. Iniciamos este año escolar no con una sino con seis revistas creadas por estudiantes usando temas de los cursos de IB.
En esta ocasión, Claudia Morales, Aaron Cody y Laura Malagón, guiaron con toda su magia a los estudiantes de décimo grado en su propia exploración en diferentes temáticas.
Es hora de probar el fruto de estas creaciones, saborear este contenido encantador y deleitarse en las mieles de estos mundos mágicos que nos harán volar la imaginación.
Esta es de nuevo nuestro espacio de reunión, y este, nuestro pastel de bienvenida con muchas sorpresas hoy y muchas más por venir.

Everyone Benefits When Students Use Their Voices

The second term magazine project asked 10th grade students to put their phones down, and to go ask questions of people in the Gimnasio Vermont (GV) community. Using the IB course themes for language as a basic framework, students were then given free reign to choose the topics and text types that most appealed to them and wrote some amazing articles, covering a wide range of issues: from climate change to a Puss in
Boots review; from the importance of art in our everyday lives to the favorite foods of our foreign teachers; or from how color choice played a major role in the schools recent renovations to what makes GV students feel truly ALIVE!
What we, as teachers, learned from the weeks-long project was that when students had the freedom to write about their own interests and preoccupations— whether good or bad—they produ-
ced stellar thoughts that made us want to listen more!
So, whether you’re a younger student and this is your first chance to see our IB students’ work, you’re a classmate, a graduating senior, a teacher or a parent, please read, digest and enjoy!!!
