The site assigned is adjacent to the Asif nagar Traffic police station, Masab Tank, Hyderabad.

The project brief was to design a police quaters with satisfying all the design elements and requirements, The programme was to construct about 80 units structures with 2BHKs and 3BHKs.

Slender beams and columns are used in the chosen structural system. This function expands the flat’s carpet area. All of the electric fixtures are concealed into the slab thus making the ceiling unnecessary for functional purpose.

The water consumption was brought down from the base case of 135 lpd to 75 lpd by efficient use of water saving fixtures, front load washing machines.The total occupant

Long columns which act as shear walls are used in between the floor plate without intrusion to maintain the lateral stability. Shear wall is used to construct the lift core walls.

Balconies were installed with safety invisible grills installed on the balconies. They’re composed of high-quality stainless steel cable (316L GRADE)

PROJECT CONTEXT

The project brief was to design a community center for handloom weavers in pochampally.

The site was given in pochanpally village which is located in Telangana state

It is placed at the very entrance of the site near to the parking which outsiders can also come and visit the exhibition placed in the art gallery

Semi circular form is for free circulation and the centre partion is for different types of arts can exhibit in the space provided in the middle of the building

It is designed in a form of two circular detached shape each circular form is for each different sections for handloom working process with a partition walls and the outer space is also used as for drying process

It is designed in a concept of proximate, a space which can access to everybody as near as possible to the visitors

A glass is placed in one corner of the building which people can sit and enjoy the view while eating

03. SCIENCE MEMORIAL 23

The design brief is to honor the contribution and struggle of Indian scientists under the British rule it is proposed to construct a memorial and museum in India

The objective is to give them eternal salute to the scientists and to make young generation aware about their contribution towards science in pre independence period.

It is proposed to locate the memorial at ancient city of Ujjain in the State of Madhya Pradesh. Land is available inside a plot of Planetarium Complex whose area is 8.8 hectare (21.74 Acres) out of which 2.42 Hectares (6 Acres) can be allotted / used for designing memorial and Museum. The location of the plot is Planetarium site, Near Nana Khera Bus Stand, Antariksha Parisar, Sector-C, BasantVihar, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh (Pin – 456 010)

SCIENCE MEMORIAL

MEMORIAL is designed in a circular form because of the free movement in the building to exhibit and it was placed in the middle of the site it acts as a centre of focus

open air theatre is a space for gathering and interacting with others. The center space is for minimal stage with the height of 45 cms.

Open air theatre is placed at a very entrance of the site as intentioned to be one of the landmark for the whole community center. It stays very interacctive space and formal space.

Library is designed in a huge scale in the height of 6 meters which has a internal stairway and a computer lab for 100 members

It was placed in the corner of the site to avoid noise from the surroundings, people can peacefully spend their time in the library with the pleasent environment

Playground is placed at the backside of the site to avoid any disturbance from the ground to the visitors

DESIGN BRIEF MASTER PLAN

Urban analysis of the site: The analysis of land titles and regulations based on administrative documents, roads and urban mobility, bio climatic analysis, building facilities, greenery, socio-economic analysis, nuisances and security analysis, urban morphology, immediate environment impact on the site, relevant design considerations.

• An area reserved for events including stands: 33% and parking area for events: 7%

• Public spaces including green spaces: minimum 10% and Development plan (p.a.) roads and service roads: maximum 20%

• Different facilities depending on the chosen scenario including administration and logistic building. the chosen facilities must respect the vision of the s.d.a.u, p.a and the existing elements on the site: maximum 30% including parking areas.

INTERPRETATION CENTRE

Interpretation center placed in the middle of the urban site it acts as a landmark place to the entire site it is for cultural museum to showcase the traditional arts and handcrafts of the cusco city

Explore bamboo as a construction material and its joineries at various phases of construction, as well as planning. Hands on experience of construction in 1:1 sizes as an outcome, and also learned designing and erecting bamboo structures for public areas
