Bobby works hard. really hard.

point is, bobby earned everything he ever got.

it’s how he was raised.

and with the 47th pick of the 2012 nfl draft, the sea le seahawks select

he went on to win the super bowl in only his second season in the nfl.

he was a first-team all-pro by his third season. and he made the top 100 players as voted by his peers, all the while still finding time to volunteer.

I know, I know--you know all this already. but there’s something you don’t know about bobby…

bobby wagner!

the guardian said that she was part of a special organization dedicated to helping and healing others. and she wanted to recruit bobby--

okay, I’m just gonna tell you. it was a

following his rookie season, bobby was approached by a mysterious guardian angel.

very hush-hush--hidden identities, secret headquarters, epic missions to save the world. pretty much everything you read about in comics, and see in the movies. I mean, I grew up wanting to be a superhero, and now someone was offering me the chance to be one? sign me up!

do I have powers?

not exactly --I’m not that type of superhero. no superserum, no radioactive spider-bite, no mutating green ooze…but lots of pizza, if we’re being real. so how’s a superhero gonna hang if he’s got no superpowers?

need I remind you of a particular caped crusader, or man in a flying iron suit? technology can do some crazy things these days.

the guardian-we call her “dr. s”-said that tech is a gift, and one that can be taken away if abused and misused. as someone wise once said, “with great power comes great responsibility.” so, as always, I had to earn my spot on the team. be humble and know that at any point it could all be taken away.

everything is temporary. maybe that's part of what makes life so beautiful. you have to savor the good moments before they're gone. I’ve learned that the hard way…

but enough with the sob stories. let’s get back to why we’re here

I’m the wily vet now in both the NFL and the “Other League.” Both worldrenowned, one far more secret than the other

and dr. s has recently brought in some new blood

and now you’re pretty much all caught up to speed.

but don’t go thinking this is public knowledge--

a rookie that she wants me to mentor-take the kid under my wing, show him the ropes. that sorta thing.

it’s super-secret superhero stuff the safety of the world depends on it

don’t worry about me I can handle myself.

Everybody says that in the beginning Even I did. But we all need someone to watch our six.

look, I’m happy to help the next generation and all, but I’m no babysitter.

your “fit”?

my digs. huh?

my superhero costume thing

understood. so, when do I get my ‘fit?

ah. patience, young padawan. for now, put this on

it’s how we get our missions from dr s. it’s got satellite coms, and a laser cutter. also, a nausea dampener with a quantum core

sweet! my first superhero watch! so, where to next?

woah! no mids here. so which one we takin’?

oh snap look at this relic.

don’t touch that. it’s dr. s’s interdimensional slicer.

and let me guess--is that a hoverboard with projectiles? nah. that’s just morgan’s skateboard. I keep telling him to put things away when he’s done. it’s a dang safety hazard!

we’re taking this one.

which one? there’s nothing here

no way!

nice work, bobby. hope the kid learned something watching you work.

taught him to pick up after himself morgan left the skateboard out again?

yup. but seriously, I think the rook’s ready for the next phase.

dry cleaners?

ok. meet me at the dry cleaners.

hi, ms. kim! my friend here needs to get his measurements it's for a suit yeah, so I thought “dry cleaners” was code for something else. but we’re literally just at a dry cleaners.

in there. go ahead.

now, don’t move.

I

and maybe some new drip in general. this fit is all wrong.

come on, new guy!

woah. so this is--

--where you get your suit. your super suit, that is.

I like purple

said, “don’t move.”

all done.

excellent

ready by tomorrow

we got an update from HQ regarding operation: red storm. everyone made it! zero casualties. nice job, wagz, on reading the situation.

thanks, but I’m only one part of the equation. while my “defense” may have kept us in the game, the special teams at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health had our back all the way.

superheroes are always going to need hospitals. and we got the best.

wellsaid.

so rook, you ready for your first assignment?

yes, ma’am. you know it!

good.

easy there, buddy

for this particular “mission,” rook will be in full uniform, which ms. kim will have tomorrow. bobby will be going incognito…

each team consists of one seahawk and six community members--friends, family, and fans! let’s hear it for our teams!

welcome, everyone, to the Seahawks Annual Flag Football Community Day!

Let's thank Nurse Diaz and Virginia Mason Franciscan Health for supporting this event. We’re here to bring people together and help raise awareness about how to live healthier and longer lives. since we only get one!

as always, we have some of your favorite seahawks, competing in a friendly tournament of seven-on-seven.

we also have a surprise guest for you today! from the extraordinary superhero group the other league, please welcome root!

shake hands, and may the best team win.

I’m bobby. nice to meet you.

I mean, rook! welcome! who? must be a new guy.

I wish they brought space-hawk.

I’m familiar with your game. big fan. but you’re going down. we’ll see about that.

“rook.”

set… hut!

Our first game is underway!

now let’s see you try to score. and remember, I play defense.

b-wagz drops back… hauled in down the sideline by his own brother with a nifty catch! gotcha! rook makes the tackle, stopping the play inside the 10 yard line! a beast-mode juke move from the nine-time all-pro! touchdown!

game number two--green team versus grey team!

whoah. you’re space-hawk...

our little secret, yeah?

hey, kid. I got something for you. for me?

yeah, bro!

I thought we’re supposed to keep our identities hidden.

yeah, I hear that, dude. speaking of which, I think I’m ready for some real missions

rule #1 of the ol is to inspire the next generation. as a kid, my younger brother inspired me to be the best version of myself. superheroes need inspiration too.

call an ambulance
need a Medic now! She's having a stroke!
are you ok?
We
Lelia,

I’m so ha y you’re okay, nana!

me t , honey. me t .

luckily, someone acted fast and got me help.

we’ give you guys some family time.

so, bo y, I go a know. what tech was that? thermal detector, sonar transmi er?

how did you know she was about to have a stroke?

what do you mean? I just read the situation, and reacted. no tech

seriously?

yeah. anyone can do it so long as they know the signs

Mr. Wagner, Rook, you remember Nurse Diaz from the event?

of course.

what’s this?

looks like you’re the spokesman now.

doctor s. nurse diaz.

f -- face drooping.

Some of you may not know that I lost my own mother to a stroke some years back. That’s why I am so dedicated to helping educate the 12s about stroke awarene and the F.A.S.T. program. Today I am proud to a ounce that I’ join the Seahawks and Virginia Mason Franciscan Health to raise funds and awarene for this important e ort

you don’t have to have super powers to be able to help someone who is having a stroke

as coach ca o always says, “the best offense is a good defense.” you got to be able to read the o ense in order to react and diagnose the play.

the same is true with health risks, and specifica y with strokes. just remember “f.a.s.t.”.

a -- arm weakness. my grandma’s eighty-nine, and she can sti hold a Venti co

s -- speech difficulties.

and t-time to ca 9-1-1. once you read the signs, you go a react quickly.

so bo y, te us what’s be er: tackling quarterbacks or tackling strokes?

as much as I love sacking a qb, it pales in comparison to knowing that lelia br ks is recovering and wi get to make more memories with her family.

and she’ get to watch you sack more quarterbacks t !

you’re a hero on and o the field

is there anything else you want the world to know about bo y wagner?

but in a seriousne , we n d to thank the real heroes here:

The incredible nurses and doctors at the Stroke center, Dr. S, and the entire medical team at virginia mason franciscan health.

I’m grateful for them, and to be able to do my part in contributing to our amazing co unity here in sea le.

we , actua y, there is one thing…

Be a Playmaker Help Bobby Wagner Support Stroke Care & Education

The Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Foundation and Seattle Seahawks have teamed up with Bobby Wagner to honor his mom, Phenia Mae, who was lost to a stroke.

A donation to the Phenia Mae Fund can provide rehabilitation equipment to support patients’ recovery at home. $54 can provide a walker or blood pressure monitoring kit for one patient. Mobility and monitoring devices are vital to reduce the risk of falling and track progress.
