A brand is the promise you make about who you are as an educational institution, the needs you fulfill for students and families, and how you are different from peers or competitors. A key component of your brand is your verbal identity: a carefully crafted positioning statement and three key messages that articulate your brand promise in words.

WHY ARE WE FOCUSING ON OUR BRAND?

Villa Maria offers an exceptional educational experience for our students. With a verbal identity that clearly and concisely articulates who we are integrated throughout our marketing materials, we will raise awareness of our unique identity and successfully attract prospective families.

THE VILLA MARIA ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL BRAND Positioning Statement Villa Maria Academy High School is an independent Catholic college preparatory school founded by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, where motivated young women grow with intention and uplift others in a faith-filled and nurturing community. Located on 45 acres at the west end of the Main Line in Malvern, Villa Maria encourages students to build lives of purpose at a pivotal time in life through process-driven intellectual rigor, excellence in athletics and the arts, spiritual growth, and a commitment to service. In an all-girls setting that is caring and structured, students explore their love of learning, identify passions, and discover the meaning of true leadership as they grow into the best version of themselves.

Challenged and supported by devoted faculty and a sincere sisterhood of peers, students have a welcoming space for real confidence to take root and for all of their unique strengths to emerge. YOU CAN HELP IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS 1. Familiarize yourself with the brand identity, key messages, and the value they offer.

2. Communicate the unique value of a Villa Maria education to your network of family, friends, neighbors, and fellow educators at other schools.

3. Regularly share news and successes with the Director of Communications and/or the Director of Marketing to help us communicate the Villa Maria story to a broader audience.

4. Provide feedback to the Communications and Marketing Department on how your network receives our newly articulated verbal identity.

5. Recognize that you make Villa Maria’s brand identity a reality by living it daily and advocating for it through relationships you have with people inside and outside the Villa Maria community.

Key Messages GROW WITH INTENTION • Villa Maria Academy High School provides a true independent Catholic school experience in which motivated young women build lives of purpose as they grow through intellectual rigor, excellence in athletics and the arts, spiritual awareness, and a commitment to service.

• A culture defined by love, creative hope, and fidelity—the charism of the school’s founders, the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM)—is the foundation for all aspects of the Villa Maria experience and permeates everything that is taught and practiced.

• Together, the school and students set high expectations, and the students are not afraid to pursue them knowing there will be support and encouragement every step of the way. Students forge their way with intention and determination, qualities learned from and shared by the IHM sisters, teachers, staff, and peers.

As a grade 9 through 12 school, Villa Maria specializes in how this particular age group of girls learns and develops best.
