PORT D’ESCALE Il se passe beaucoup de choses dans le port de Gustavia, où les mers entourant Saint Barth accueillent un cadre international de marins testant les eaux au cours d’une myriade d’évènements nautiques chaque année. Superbes bateaux faisant la course autour des rivages, gigantesques yachts superbement alignés sur les quais, voiliers traditionnels en bois évoquant les temps où les navires se frayaient un chemin d’île en île. Head off the beaten path to discover the “other” Saint Barth. Tiny traditional cottages with a hundred years of history are tucked away on hillsides. Unspoiled landscapes are populated only by cactus and numerous species of native flora and fauna. Undeveloped beaches, for sunning or shell collecting, and rocky coasts define the coastline. An incredible light by day, starry skies at night, there’s a special naturalness to the ambiance of this tiny “rock” floating in the sea.
