KINETIC 25 AND THE YEAR THE INDUSTRY MOVED FORWARD TOGETHER In September, Kinetic’25 turned Telford International into something more than a conference venue. Over two days, we brought over 1500 people together - insurers, repairers, OEMs, suppliers, trainers and technologists from across the UK and beyond, filling two arenas with people and ideas that don’t usually share the same room. 4

5

FOCUS Hosted by Quentin Willson and myself, Kinetic’25 was never designed to be “just another event.” The intention was simple but ambitious. Educate, challenge, connect and move the entire sector forward – together. From the opening session, our theme was clear. į Collaboration over silos į Joined-up thinking over transactional relationships į Shared strategies over isolated fixes Speakers from leading insurers, global vehicle manufacturers, coatings partners, data specialists, EV and sustainability experts took the stage not to sell, but to share and debate where the industry really is, and where it has to go next. Visitors walked between cutting edge EVs, technology, and digital platforms on one side, and current and classic vehicles on the other, a visual reminder of how far the industry has travelled, and how fast the next chapter is arriving, ‘progress will never be as slow as it is now.’ The feedback since has been humbling, Kinetic has been widely described as one of the standout industry events of the year, and “a must-attend event” for those who want to be part of Automotive 2.0 rather than watch it pass by. The evening networking event, Konnect, brought 1,200+ people together, not around slide decks or panel questions, but around conversation, relationships and a bit of fun. Magicians, caricaturists, a no-risk casino with Vizion dollars, and even the now-famous (infamous!) BYD karaoke car. Kinetic’25 wasn’t perfect, nothing worth doing ever is, but it did what we needed it to do, remind everyone that the future of this industry will be built by those who are willing to collaborate, to innovate, to share, and to be honest about the challenges ahead.

2025 IN CONTEXT, CONSOLIDATION, COMPLEXITY AND OPPORTUNITY We’re operating in a phase of intense pressure and change. Consolidation in both insurance and repair has

6

accelerated again, bringing familiar uncertainty alongside fresh opportunity. This isn’t new, the industry has operated through similar phases before, but the stakes feel higher now. į Vehicle technology has leapt forward, ADAS, EV, connected platforms į The skills gap is widening faster than the pipeline can naturally fill it į Regulation, ESG requirements and Consumer Duty obligations are sharpening į Customer expectations, real-time, transparent, low effort are non-negotiable At Vizion, we’ve always tried to see the industry horizontally rather than from a single vantage point. We sit across manufacturers, insurers, repairers, customers and the supply chain, and that gives us something precious, perspective. That perspective has allowed us, and our partners, to navigate 2025 not as passengers, but as co-pilots. We haven’t just reacted to change; we have tried to prepare for it, shape it, and in some cases, accelerate it.

VIZION IN 2025 WENT FROM A NETWORK TO ECOSYSTEM. Vizion is a network of more than 1,000 repair centres, supporting around 45 insurer and vehicle manufacturer clients from multiple locations in the UK, with a growing footprint across Europe. Our platforms, in particularly AutoFlow, Cortex and the wider Digital Experience Platform stack, have continued to evolve and expand, enabling: į End-to-end digital repair journeys į Real-time triage and “right first time” allocation į Connected data across insurers, repairers, OEMs and customers į Modular SaaS and fintech solutions that can be tailored for different brands and territories Behind the numbers have been some outstanding

AVERAGE SPEED OF ANSWER IN OUR UKBASED CONTACT CENTRES OF AROUND 35 SECONDS

INBOUND DEMAND REDUCED TO JUST 1.2 CALLS PER CLAIM ACROSS ALL PARTIES

outcomes: į Average speed of answer in our UK-based contact centres of around 35 seconds į Inbound demand reduced to just 1.2 calls per claim across all parties į Only around 40% of claims generating a customer call at all, not because people are disengaged, but because expectations are set and met through the digital journey į Vehicles land with the correct facility, first time, based on damage, capability and capacity Internally, we see this as stress prevention rather than stress management. If customers are informed, mobile, and confident that their vehicle is in the right hands, the emotional temperature of a claim drops dramatically. We have always said ‘it’s about how we make our customers feel’. Externally, our performance continues to be recognised. In 2025, Vizion appeared for the fifth consecutive year in the FT1000 ranking of Europe’s Fastest-Growing Companies, qualifying us for the Financial Times and Statista Europe’s Long-Term Growth Champions list, where we ranked among the top cohort of high-growth European businesses. These recognitions are not the goal in themselves, but they do confirm something important, our model works, and it works consistently over time. Customer service, technology doing the heavy lifting, humans doing the caring. One of the things I am personally proudest of in 2025 is how we’ve held the line on what “good” customer service actually means.

ONLY AROUND 40% OF CLAIMS GENERATING A CUSTOMER CALL AT ALL

FCA Consumer Duty, vulnerability awareness, and communication skills. We’ve kept all contact centres UK-based, and when something goes wrong, we place customers into priority support pathways that focus on ownership, honesty and resolution rather than deflection. The metrics reflect that approach: į Internal CSI 4.5 / 5 į Trustpilot 4.8 / 5 į Exceptionally low complaint volumes But the truth is, the numbers only tell part of the story. What really defines our service are the individual decisions our people make every day; staying on the phone with a distressed driver long past closing time; slowing down for someone clearly shaken after a collision with children in the car; rearranging mobility around childcare, night shifts or health appointments rather than expecting customers to “fit the system”. Those are the moments that matter, these are the things I value the most. And they are happening, quietly, every day.

SUSTAINABILITY, FROM NARRATIVE TO MEASURABLE CHANGE One of the defining features of 2025 has been the shift from talking about sustainability to actually building it into the operational fabric of the industry, in claims and repair. Through Green Earth, customers can choose to plant a tree instead of taking a courtesy car. It’s a simple option, supported by a small amount of our AI, but its combined impact is anything but small.

We have doubled down on a few non-negotiables:

Planting more than 35,000 trees to date, through our Green Earth initiative represents a long-term carbon benefit equivalent to removing 1,000’s of tonnes of CO₂ from the atmosphere.

į No scripted empathy. Our advisors are trained, not programmed į No hiding behind automation. Technology should remove friction, not push people away į Wellbeing first. Our opening question is still, “Are you okay?”, because collisions are not just logistical events, they’re emotional ones

This is based on recognised UK Woodland Carbon Code and Defra benchmarks and is comparable to more than 50 million miles of average UK car travel. It’s a powerful demonstration of how small choices from customers and repairers can contribute to real environmental progress. Also eliminating more than £5 million in mobility-related costs so far.

In the last 12 months, our customer teams have delivered over 3,000 hours of training across emotional intelligence,

In parallel, Drive has continued to address courtesy car supply and, more recently, EV adoption, putting thousands of BEVs into the hands of repairers along with charging 7

FOCUS

solutions and operational guidance. What began as a post-Covid intervention has become part of a broader decarbonisation and capability story. The launch of ARIES – the Accident Repair Industry Environmental Standard – in April 2025 has been another milestone. ARIES replaces PAS 2060 with something built by and for the industry, measurable, practical, and open to all repairers, whatever their starting point. Developed with cross-sector input and supported from day one by most major insurers and many major organisations from manufacturers and suppliers, and of course repairers, with 952 now aligned.

In simple terms, this allows our partners to benefit from a highly connected, multi-party claims environment without carrying disproportionate cyber and continuity risk on their own. We see this as another shared asset, a rising floor of security and governance that protects everyone in the chain.

OUR PEOPLE ARE EPIC BY DESIGN Underpinning everything in 2025, Kinetic, ARIES, Green Earth, Drive, FT recognition, European expansion, is one simple truth, Vizion is its people.

ARIES is already giving insurers and repairers a common language and common framework for carbon reduction that translates directly into operations, investment decisions and ESG reporting.

We started life in 2008/9 as a small group of repairers with a clear mission and a strong sense of responsibility. That DNA hasn’t diluted as we’ve grown; if anything, it has hardened.

Taken together, Green Earth, Drive and ARIES are helping the sector prove something vital, that sustainability, cost control and customer experience do not have to be competing priorities. They can, and should, reinforce each other.

This year, our employees formalised what many had felt for a long time into a simple cultural framework, EPIC – Evolve, Positively, with Integrity and Compassion.

CYBER, DATA AND TRUST, THE VIZION STANDARD With every year, more of the claims journey is digital, and with that comes more risk if it isn’t done properly. To support insurers, OEMs, repairers and customers, we’ve continued to build and re-enforce The Vizion Standard, our security and operational framework covering how data is captured, moved and stored across our ecosystem. It is underpinned by: į ISO 27001 (Information Security) į ISO 22301 (Business Continuity) į FSQS - HELLIOS į FCA-aligned handling of sensitive data į End-to-end encryption and robust access controls

8

across systems

EPIC isn’t a poster on a wall. It shows up in: į Quarterly EPIC Awards for people who live those values out loud į Gold Shout Outs, Director’s Awards, and day-to-day recognition į The principle that nobody works on their birthday į Long-service celebrations, Free Food Fridays, meaningful Christmas and summer events į A genuinely open route for people at every level to raise issues and ideas We’ve invested heavily in wellbeing and inclusion: į Trained Mental Health First Aiders in every office į Access to GP and counselling services į A Menopause Workplace Pledge backed by actual support, not just language į Sensitivity to neurodiversity, disability, ethnicity and

gender, not as a compliance exercise but as part of being a decent place to work In 2025, our staff turnover has remained low, 13% in the year, a significant result for a business of our scale and profile. That isn’t achieved through perks; it’s achieved through trust, flexibility, respect and purpose.

apprenticeships, partnerships and initiatives like AutoRaise į A stronger, more intentional focus on Automotive 2.0 – connected, electric, data-driven, but always peoplecentred As I said on stage at Kinetic...

And through our Community Fund and charity partnerships, from local projects to national charities such as Marie Curie, DEBRA and the Irish Cancer Society, our people shape where and how we give back.

“We need to believe in our power, as repairers and suppliers, to reshape the automotive and repair industry into one that works for everyone. What we do now, together, will shape what happens next. Our focus will determine our reality."

They don’t just work for Vizion; they are Vizion.

LOOKING AHEAD TO THE HORIZON AND BEYOND 2025

2025 has shown that this isn’t just rhetoric. When we act together, across insurers, manufacturers, repairers, suppliers, technology partners and our own teams…we move mountains.

If Kinetic’25 was a snapshot of where we are, it was also a preview of where we are going.

Kinetic’25 was the moment we saw that power in one room.

The years ahead will bring:

The rest of 2025 has been about proving it across thousands of claims, hundreds of sites, and millions of customer moments.

į Deeper European growth, with platforms, workflows and teams tailored to local markets and legislation į Expansion of ARIES as a true sector standard and international reference point į Further evolution of Cortex, AutoFlow and our DXP stack, including AI-assisted journeys where it genuinely reduces effort, never at the expense of humanity į Continued support for the skills pipeline through

And the most important part? ..... We’re nowhere near finished yet.

THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS, PARTNERS AND EXHIBITORS Kinetic's exhibition was a huge success, we couldn't have achieved Kinetic without the support of the best the industry has to offer. We are preparing a supplier digital directory showcasing all the sponsors, exhibitors and partners who were part of Kinetic, we will be in touch as soon as this is live.

A TRIBUTE TO QUENTIN

Quentin first joined Vizion at our 2016 conference, Ignite. From that moment, he became not just a supporter, but a true advocate of Vizion and everything we believe in.

10

His passion for progress, quality, and integrity left a lasting impression on everyone who met him. When the pandemic put a pause on live events, Quentin remained a firm ally. So, when we returned in 2023 for the first Kinetic, it was only natural that he would host the twoday event.

VIZION KINETIC 2025

VIZION KINETIC 2023

“I’m delighted to be hosting the Vizion Conference for the second time and looking forward to hearing and seeing how this industry does so much to further quality, sustainability, value, and professionalism. The 2023 conference promises to be a real treat.” Kinetic 2023 was indeed a success, and Quentin played no small part in that. He brought insight, warmth, and sharp wit to every moment, engaging speakers with tough but thoughtful questions and challenging perceptions in a way that inspired genuine reflection. Despite his status, Quentin was never one to stay behind the scenes, he walked the exhibition floor, chatted with delegates, joined evening conversations, and was always happy to discuss the future of electric vehicles, a cause he championed tirelessly. At Kinetic ’25, Quentin once again brought his trademark energy and conviction to the stage, sitting alongside Chris McKie and continuing to challenge, inspire, and spark debate about the future of our industry. Quentin was much more than a host, he was a voice of reason, a champion of change, and a friend to Vizion. His presence will be deeply missed, but his passion and belief in progress will continue to inspire everything we do. Thank you, Quentin.

THE COURTESY CAR EVOLUTION

EV'S ARE THE SMARTER, CLEANER CHOICE FOR BODYSHOPS 18

Courtesy cars are the quiet workhorses of every bodyshop. They keep customers mobile, preserve trust and turn what could be a disruptive repair experience into something smooth and stress free. Yet one important factor is often overlooked: the carbon footprint behind the convenience. A typical ICE courtesy vehicle travels around 8,000 miles each year. At an average of 280 gCO₂e per mile, that single car emits 2.24 tonnes of CO₂e annually. Scale that to a modest fleet of ten, and a bodyshop is indirectly responsible for 22.4 tonnes of CO₂e every year. For a sector working hard to strengthen its sustainability credentials and align with frameworks such as ARIES and the Green Earth Initiative, these numbers carry weight. They become even more significant when you consider that, ethically, courtesy car emissions fall under Scope 1. They are tied to a business’s operations, even when the customer pays for the fuel, which means bodyshops have both an opportunity and a responsibility to act.

Switching courtesy fleets to electric vehicles offers one of the clearest, fastest, and most impactful ways to reduce emissions. The benefits extend far beyond carbon savings. EVs provide a quieter, smoother drive that enhances the customer experience, while also reducing running costs and maintenance demands for the business. Add in current government grant schemes the move becomes even more compelling. Vizion is already supporting repairers on the transition. From EV courtesy car options to practical charging infrastructure solutions, the resources, guidance and partnerships are ready to make the shift simple and sustainable. Combine this support with available Government grant incentives, this now becomes the perfect time to EVolve.

THE CASE FOR EV COURTESY CARS BECOMES UNMISTAKABLE Against these real-world ICE figures, electric vehicles stand out even more dramatically. Independent UK and European testing shows:

EVs typically produce 50g – 60 gCO₂ per mile, mostly from grid electricity That’s a 60 to 70 percent reduction compared with a small petrol car Compared with a large SUV, the reduction is 75 to 80 percent Vehicle

EV Infrastructure and Charging Grants Helping UK businesses access funding to install and future-proof their electric vehicle charging facilities.

PLUG IN & POWER UP

THE GOVERNMENT'S BUYING THE FIRST ROUND….(OF EV CHARGING) You know that feeling when the government actually gives you money and it makes business sense? No, it’s not a trap. It’s the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS), and it’s here to help you future-proof your fleet, impress your ESG board, and make your car park look like it belongs in 2030. WHAT’S THE DEAL? The UK Government is dishing out up to £350 per EV Charging socket to help businesses, charities, and public sector bodies install EV charge points on their premises. You can claim up to 40 sockets per business. That’s £14,000 of charger cash – not bad for a country that just taxed your meal deal. Whether you’ve got a single Nissan Leaf or an army of BYD’s, this scheme is a no-brainer.

PRO TIP:

Pair this with solar panels (yes, there’s a grant for that too), and suddenly your depot becomes a selfsufficient, grid-smashing, eco-warrior HQ.

WHO QUALIFIES? Got a Companies House number and a car park? Great. You're basically halfway there. No need to run a fleet of Teslas or be carbon-neutral since birth. It’s open to most UK-registered businesses. The only real requirement? You must own the premises or have landlord permission and install through an OZEV-approved installer. (Don’t worry – PowerDrive is one.)

WHY SHOULD YOU CARE? Let’s be real – fleet electrification is no longer a someday conversation. It’s here. It’s fast. And it’s going to be expensive if you leave it too late.

SO WHAT’S THE HOLDUP? This isn’t a fence you want to waste time sitting on, this grant is only available until end of March 2026. You’ve got the space. You’ve got the vehicles (or will soon), and now, you’ve got £14,000 worth of reasons to start plugging in. Want to find out more, give the team a call or drop us an email.

This is the brand that gave Britain the Escort XR3i to the boy racers, the Fiesta to first-time drivers, and the Mondeo to motorway business warriors. Everyone’s either driven a Ford, been in one, or learned to drive in one. Which is why, when you hand over the keys to a Ford Puma Gen E, customers instantly feel at home and it’s only fitting that they get to experience electric motoring in a Ford. It looks familiar, drives effortlessly, and has enough room inside to keep school-run parents happy, plus plenty of kit to feel modern without being baffling. The range? More than enough for commutes, kids’ evening activities, and the weekly shop, without sparking the dreaded “But I don’t have a home charger” debate. For your bodyshop, it’s a no-brainer: lower running costs, no fuel hassle, and a modern EV that makes you look bang up to date. Handing over a Ford courtesy car is like slipping into an old pair of trainers, comfortable, trusted, and exactly what customers expect. The Puma Gen E Select: Ford reliability with a future-proof twist. Customers will love it. If you run a bodyshop, you know the golden rule of courtesy cars: they must be easy to drive, easy to park, and not inspire panicked calls of “I don’t understand the handbrake!” Enter the Ford Puma Gen E Select, the EV crossover that might just be the smartest tool in your fleet. From the kerb, it looks like any other Puma. That’s deliberate. Courtesy cars shouldn’t scream eco-pod from Mars, they should look like something your neighbour already owns. Inside, it’s classic Ford: big screen, real buttons, a driving position that makes even your gran feel like Colin McRae. The E Select trim hits the sweet spot, enough toys to impress, none of the pointless fluff. And yes, there are cupholders. More complaints are caused by the lack of those than you’d believe. On the road, it’s smooth, silent, and idiot-proof. No necksnapping launches, no trolley-pace sluggishness, it just goes and goes. The range covers school runs, work trips and supermarket dashes without the dreaded “It’s run out!” call. Charging? As simple as plugging in at Tesco. And here’s the clincher: it makes your bodyshop look sharp and forward-thinking. Customers see an EV courtesy car, you get lower running costs and fewer trips to the petrol station with the fuel card. Everyone wins.

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE ELEVATED Together, We Define What Exceptional Service Looks Like Here’s how repairers across the Vizion Network can continue to deliver first-in-class customer service and elevate the experience even further.

KEEP CUSTOMERS INFORMED

TAKE OWNERSHIP

SMALL GESTURES CREATE LASTING IMPRESSIONS

MANAGE EXPECTATIONS FROM THE START

Uncertainty creates frustration. Proactive updates are key, call before the customer needs to chase. Whether it’s a parts delay or a revised timescale, transparency builds trust and confidence.

A great service provider doesn’t pass blame. Own the situation, reassure the customer, and take control of finding a resolution. Responsibility demonstrates professionalism and care.

It’s often the little things such as a courtesy call, a clean car, a follow-up thank you that turn a routine experience into a memorable one. These thoughtful touches make customers feel valued.

Be upfront about repair timelines, costs, and potential changes. Setting realistic expectations prevents disappointment later and reinforces transparency and trust.

Customers might forgive a delay, but they never forget being left in the dark.

LISTEN FIRST, RESPOND SECOND

BUILD A RAPPORT

REFLECT AND REFINE

Listening is one of the most powerful service tools. It shows empathy, diffuses tension, and helps uncover what truly matters to the customer.

Connection is at the heart of service. Address customers by name, personalise your interactions, and show genuine interest in their situation. Rapport builds reassurance and reassurance builds loyalty.

Outstanding service is built on reflection. When things don’t go perfectly, ask what could have been done differently. The best repairers evolve by learning from every experience.

VIZION'S EVERYDAY HEROES RAISING THE STANDARD IN CUSTOMER SERVICE

30

Every year, the first full week of October marks National Customer Service Week. A week dedicated to recognising the people who make a difference through their everyday actions within Customer Service. October 2025, Vizion Operations came together across our sites to celebrate exactly that: our people. In a world where digital processes often take centre stage, the week served as a powerful reminder of what truly drives exceptional service...genuine human connection. The energy, creativity, and pride from everyone across our teams were incredible. From cupcakes and recognition boards to quizzes, “Kings and Queens of Customer Service,” and back-to-the-floor sessions, the celebrations reflected who we are at our core: a business built on people who care. For us, customer service isn’t a department, it’s our reputation. It’s not something we simply do; it’s how we operate, how we communicate, and how we make others feel.

TURNING MOMENTS INTO MEMORIES

Delivering outstanding customer service is never about being perfect, it’s about being human. It’s about listening properly, showing empathy, and turning a negative into a positive. Every time we take what could have been a difficult situation and turn it into a reassuring and professional experience, we strengthen the trust our customers place in us. I see this in action every day and that that doesn’t happen by chance, it’s the result of consistent care, pride, and accountability from our teams.

OUR VISION: BECOMING A CONTACT CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE

Being an outstanding, first-in-class Contact Centre of Excellence is our ultimate goal, and we are well on our way in achieving this. The continued positive feedback from our clients, our upward trend in quality assurance results, shows that we’re not only improving, but we’re also leading. But excellence isn’t static; it’s a continuous journey. There’s always more we can do, new ideas to explore, and better ways to deliver service that leaves a lasting impression. We actively welcome fresh perspectives and suggestions from across the business and some of our greatest

improvements have come from those closest to our customers.

PRIDE IN WHAT WE DO

What we loved most about National Customer Service Week was the sense of pride it brought to the forefront. Seeing people smile, support one another, and take time to appreciate their colleagues’ work captured what makes us unique as a team. Excellent service isn’t built on scripts or processes, it’s built on authentic care, professionalism and genuine connection. When we lead with kindness, curiosity, and professionalism, we create customer experiences that truly stand out.

DELIVERING FIRST-IN-CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICE: A GUIDE FOR OUR REPAIRERS The celebration of customer service doesn’t stop within our contact centres. For our repairers, it continues in every conversation, every update, and every handover. The Network is the face of the customer journey and the final impression customers take away often comes from you, our repairers.

THE ROAD AHEAD

Each of us plays a vital part in the customer journey from the first call to the handover of repaired keys. By combining empathy, ownership, and communication with operational excellence, we don’t just meet expectations, we redefine them. Our goal is simple: we want every customer to walk away knowing they’ve been looked after by the very best... because they have. That’s what true customer service excellence looks like. And together, every customer service advisor, every repairer, and every member of the Vizion Network are making it happen.

CLIMBING THE DATA MATURITY LADDER ARE YOU TRULY READY FOR ANALYTICS, OR STILL FINDING YOUR FOOTING?

When Sam Goffin, MD of AutoFlow, took to the stage at Kinetic’25, he brought an important message, not just about AI and Analytics, but about the human elements necessary to succeed in digital transformation, business culture and people. Whilst technology can give us important tools, they are part of a much broader journey towards digital maturity that require understanding and practical application in order to make a business impact.

34

At Kinetic’25, AutoFlow shared a Data Maturity Framework, which is useful to help businesses understand where they are at today and the steps they need to take, to be ready for tomorrow. Any business working with AutoFlow can receive help at any level, but it is first important to understand which level your business is at. Level 1 (Running Blind) refers to companies who operate using instinct over simple signals like cash flow or foot traffic. At Level 2 (Static Reports), basic reporting is introduced for compliance or hindsight, but lacks any insight for forward planning. Level 3 (Live KPIs) enables real-time monitoring and allows for faster responses, but still relies heavily on manual interpretation. At Level 4 (Predictive Analytics), data models help forecast future trends, shifting decision-making from reactive to proactive. Finally, Level 5 (Automated Playbooks) sees AI and automation driving action automatically, embedding data into the business operations. Importantly, there is no judgement on any bodyshop regarding their position on the ladder. Sam explains; “We cater for all skillsets and all types of corporate culture when it comes to tech, from those who are familiar with AI to those who are less savvy or may even dread the thought of sitting at a PC or using new apps on their phone. Our support means there is something for everyone. We have regular training sessions called Elevate and Pulse and have a team of experts who are only a phone call away. If you’re worried about staying up to date with AI and the fast pace of change, you needn’t be, that is the job of AutoFlow’s IT specialists, leaving you free to focus on the practical insights from AutoFlow that can help to grow your business." Aside from understanding which level of the Digital Maturity Framework your business is at, there is something else we can all do now to make sure we are ready for the

future. AI is, as Sam says, “an enabler” but like all tools, is only as good as the data it relies on. By being accurate in recording information now, from vehicle detail entries to job information, it is critical that everyone starts to take the time to log activity correctly. The benefits of AI and analysis are self-evident in the retention rate of AutoFlow customers which stands at an impressive 99%. As more and more businesses join the tech revolution or (at Level 5) push the boundaries of tech enablement, the future looks bright, filled with bodyshops running connected ecosystems for everyone’s benefit. Or, in the words of Kinetic, “infinitive possibilities”. CARBON CAPTURE IS THIS THE LONGER TERM ANSWER? New UN data suggests greenhouse gas levels rose last year more than any year since 1957.

The World Meteorological Organisation, an agency of the UN, says carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere are the highest ever recorded. 2024 was the biggest one year jump since their records began. This was not entirely down to human energy use, as last year wild fires contributed 9% above average, and warmer temperatures meant that the sea and earth absorbed less carbon than we might normally expect.

In October 2025, Susumu Kitagawa, Richard Robson, and Omar Yaghi were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for creating molecular constructions with large spaces through which gases and other chemicals can flow. These constructions, known as metal–organic frameworks, can be used to harvest water from desert air, capture carbon dioxide, store toxic gases or catalyse chemical reactions. This brings hope.

About a quarter of annual emissions are taken up by the biosphere, and about another quarter taken up by the oceans, which we call ‘sinks’, and they will continue to do their jobs. However, they are becoming less effective due to the warmer climate, and half of annual emissions remain in the atmosphere.

The International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says we must reduce our dependence of fossil fuels to get to net zero by 2050. But even if we succeed, the existing CO2 in the atmosphere will continue warming the planet for hundreds of years. That’s why the IPCC says some of this carbon needs to be removed as well.

A recent study led by Oxford University calls for huge expansion in carbon capture. It says the amount of CO2 our forests and oceans can absorb has been overestimated. They say we can’t rely on mother nature alone helping us out here. As the world warms, carbon stored in natural sinks is actually being re-released into the atmosphere. This may bring us to the tipping point and cascading effect of melting permafrost, die out of the Amazon rainforest and all the other tipping points that follow. 36

We’re emitting something like 40 gigatonnes (40 billion tonnes) of carbon dioxide per year. There are now approximately 420 parts per million in the atmosphere, compared with 280 ppm before the industrial revolution. History has seen society come together and achieve things. We are curious as a species, and we want to find solutions to problems. There is going to be someone who comes along with a solution that we can’t yet comprehend. Perhaps the 2025 Nobel Prize winners for chemistry are paving the way.

STEPPING FORWARD WITH CONFIDENCE THE INDUSTRY’S MOVE FROM PAS 2060 TO ARIES The collision repair industry is standing at an important moment of change. The move creates consistency, clarity and a shared commitment to genuine, measurable reduction, not just offsetting.

A TURNING POINT FOR THE SECTOR The coming months represent a real opportunity for repairers to step forward with confidence. Transitioning to ARIES ensures continuity and reliability for insurers, reinforces the professionalism of the industry and demonstrates a willingness to lead on environmental responsibility rather than follow it. The shift away from PAS 2060 signals a new era where credible action and transparent reporting matter more than ever. ARIES is designed to support that direction, providing the structure, tools and clarity repairers need to move ahead.

This isn’t just an administrative change. It’s a chance for the collision repair community to set a new benchmark and show customers, partners and insurers what leadership looks like. Repairers who begin their ARIES journey now will be ahead of the curve, supported by a system built

CASE STUDY

MAKING CARBON REDUCTION SIMPLE:

1ST CHOICE’S EXPERIENCE WITH ARIES

1st Choice is one of the largest vehicle repairers in Wales, if not the largest. Established over 20 years ago, the company relocated to its impressive new premises on Ipswich Road, Cardiff, during the COVID-19 lockdown and hasn’t looked back since. With their state-of-the-art 33,000 square-foot facility, they face both opportunities and challenges when it comes to reducing carbon emissions. Every month, a skilled team repairs between 200 and 250 vehicles. We asked Matthew Willecome, Commercial Manager at 1st Choice, about his experience adopting ARIES (Accident Repair Industry Environmental Standard), the new carbon standard for bodyshops.

answer our questions. It was straightforward and probably

When did you first hear about ARIES as a replacement for PAS2060?

pay per job, it’s a great opportunity to re-invest back

I was approached earlier this year by Vizion to be one of the first bodyshops to trial the new ARIES system. We’d previously worked under PAS2060, but the old system never quite felt right as it was mostly about recording carbon and then offsetting it by planting a few trees, which seemed disconnected. What’s great about ARIES is that it’s designed specifically for bodyshops. It’s far more relevant than the blanket approach we had under PAS2060.

Can you talk us through the process? First, we registered and then gathered data on our fuel usage, including gas, electricity, and courtesy car fuel. That was the most challenging part, but once you’ve done it, it becomes much easier. The data is then verified by an independent auditor. We worked with ECA, who were very responsive and always came back within a few hours to

40

took no more than six hours, all in.

What are the immediate and longer-term benefits for your bodyshop? Bringing ARIES into our business held a magnifying glass up to what we were doing and how we work. It’s helped us make improvements on fuel use and, as our Insurers into a greener business. We are at Level 1 now and are exploring every opportunity to keep improving, from new spray booths in Q4 to courtesy car options. Insurers are under pressure to reduce their own carbon footprint and demonstrate sustainability across their supply chain, so this is a win-win.

What advice would you give to other repairers considering ARIES? Start recording your data properly now because it’ll make the process smoother later on. The importance of data was a key take-out for me from Kinetic and I brought that back to my team. When people at Kinetic asked me about ARIES, I told them not to be afraid of it. ARIES will do you a lot of favours, so don’t put off the first step, just push on and make it happen. It’s simple to set up and then it’s cool running from there.

EFFICIENCY THROUGH TRAINING IN CHALLENGING TIMES Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Cornerstone Technologies Ltd has firmly established itself as the market leader in non-structural training for the automotive repair industry.

“The most inspirational and important training ever. We saw immediate benefits” Mark Baldwin, East Bilney Coachworks Group

44

Founded by Tony Ward and Lee Caswell, the company emerged from a shared vision to raise repair standards and to close the knowledge gaps that existed within the non-structural repair process. Exhibiting at Kinetic in September, Cornerstone reconnected with long-standing partners and met new clients eager to discuss the evolving challenges within the repair market. The event reinforced how Cornerstone’s training continues to deliver measurable value, and why it is even more essential when the industry faces economic pressure. “A key theme at Kinetic was the need for repairers to future-proof their businesses,” explained Tony Ward. “When repair volumes decline, every job must deliver maximum efficiency and profitability. It was rewarding to hear first-hand how our courses are helping technicians achieve that from the moment they return to the workshop.”

DELIVER BEYOND EXPECTATIONS Quality is visual. Safety is assured, Deliver both with World Class Training from Cornerstone. Repair Standards beyond Compliance

RAISING STANDARDS FOR INSURERS | MANUFACTURERS | VDA’S

Lee Caswell added, “The most successful repairers are those who upskill their teams to deliver safe, smart, and cost-effective repairs. Training builds resilience and growth when the market tightens.” In partnership with Vizion Network, Cornerstone has also aligned training with environmental goals, helping repairers reduce carbon emissions by safely repairing more parts and supporting the ARIES sustainability initiative. As Cornerstone looks to expand into new markets including Ireland and France, its training goals remain, delivering safer, more profitable, and environmentally responsible repairs, especially in challenging market conditions.

APPRENTICESHIPS:

BUILDING THE FUTURE OF OUR INDUSTRY Apprenticeships have become an increasingly important topic across the automotive repair industry. A subject frequently discussed within Vizion teams and throughout the wider network.

It’s inspiring to see how apprenticeship programs and charities such as AutoRaise and School of Thought are creating real impact: opening doors to new opportunities, roles, and long-term careers for individuals. Beyond this, they’re helping to shape a more diverse, inclusive, and future-ready workforce, one that reflects the evolving needs of our industry and the communities it serves. At Vizion, we view apprenticeship not as a standalone program, but as a way of life. We see it as a skill in itself, something to be learned, taught, and shared. Apprenticeship sits at the heart of our culture of development, forming the foundation for long-term mentorship, sponsorship, and growth across every level of our organisation and network.

46

WHY APPRENTICESHIPS MATTER FOR REPAIRERS For repairers, apprenticeships represent a vital investment in the future of their business. Apprentices bring enthusiasm, new perspectives, and a readiness to learn, while contributing valuable support to daily operations. By developing apprentices within their own workshops, repairers can shape talent to their specific standards, culture, and processes. This builds a pipeline of skilled technicians who are loyal, capable, and aligned with the values of the business from day one. Apprenticeships also play a key role in addressing the industry’s growing skills gap, ensuring the next generation is equipped to work with the latest repair techniques, materials, and technologies, including electric and connected vehicles. The result is a stronger, more sustainable future for both individual businesses and the wider repair network.

THE POWER OF ONE VOICE IN VEHICLE REPAIR The vehicle repair industry has never been short of talent, ingenuity, or determination. What it’s often lacked, however, is the ability to speak with one, collective voice. In a sector that is both highly skilled and deeply fragmented, collaboration is not just a “nice to have”, it’s essential to secure our future. This was the central theme that emerged during the recent AutoRaise Partnership Alliance meeting, which Vizion was part of. Around the table sat leaders from across the ecosystem: repairers, manufacturers, insurers, and industry stakeholders. Each brought their own perspectives and challenges, but what was most striking was how much common ground they shared.

This spirit of collaboration must extend beyond the

These collaborations emphasise what is possible when partnership takes centre stage. Conversations that could easily have been defensive instead become constructive. Ideas are shared, myths dismantled. A roadmap begins to take shape, and in the Partnership Alliance this formed around six key areas - from modernising education to broadening diversity, from smarter use of funding to coordinated lobbying at government level.

The message was clear: we are stronger together. When the industry aligns around a shared purpose - inspiring young people, supporting employers, and making apprenticeships a visible, attractive career pathway - we can achieve far more than any single business or network working alone.

meeting room though. It means sharing best practice across networks, celebrating success stories publicly, and recognising that the rising tide of skills and reputation lifts every repairer. It means being honest about the barriers smaller businesses face, and working collectively to remove them. And it means presenting a unified message real, and with the right support we can deliver the skilled, future-ready workforce the UK needs. One voice does not mean one opinion. It means recognising the value of diverse experiences, and channelling them into common goals. When collaboration replaces competition in progress is enormous. The future of our industry will be shaped not just by innovation in the workshop, but by the power of our collective voice.

WHAT’S NEXT? The hard part starts now: turning good intentions into real more doors for young people, and make automotive repair a career they actively choose, not one they fall into by chance.

They're not really toy types, they just love cuddles and being with humans

Favourite Food/Snack

Ohhh without a doubt sausages (Alf would sell his soul for a sausage)

Favourite place to visit

The love paddling in the river down at the woods or paddling in the sea....not swimming, far too posh for that lol!!

Describe your day with UK Carbody Ltd We get up in the morning around 9am, have a light breakfast of sausages and if it’s a treat day, perhaps some melon. Then head to the office with our chauffeur (normally our Mum) for around 11am....have a wander around the site and see if there are any of our friends in to play with, if not we tend to have a sniff around the office teams desks as they usually have some treats for us. Then its lunchtime, we head to the staff canteen to see what everyone's having for lunch, most visits we get lucky as people sneak us something tasty....its exhausting!! Then its off to Dad’s office for a nap until around 3pm, then dad takes us for a walk around the block. 4pm its home time, our driver collects us and takes us home. 48

CREATIVE DISCOVERY Creativity only emerges once you have mastered the medium of your work. We are not talking about creativity with a ‘small c’ where someone is good at baking a cake, choosing colours that match, or designing a house. Truly creative people have the capacity to change the fundamental way we see, understand, appreciate, or do things. The common idea of a creative individual coming up with great insights, discoveries and inventions in isolation is wrong. It comes from a complex relationship with the person and their environment, or culture, and depends on timing.

of all time, Gary Player, once said ‘the more I practice, the luckier I get’. Like the very best quotes, it’s not just applicable to golf, or even sport, but to the whole of life itself. Good things never come easy. You have to put the work in.

If Michelangelo was born 50 years earlier the culture of artistic patronage would not be in place. Similarly for Galileo, if someone had not invented a glass lens, the telescope would not exist, and many individual astronomers would not have found far away galaxies. Darwin also held back his theory of evolution and natural selection due to the culture of the time.

The idea of the tortured creative person is largely a myth. Everyone who creates genuine change has first mastered their own field of knowledge. It’s only later, having achieved this, that people make their mark. You have to fully understand the rules to break them and create something new. To do new things, you have to do the old things well.

Development of the domain in which people work deserves more attention as only this can properly explain how advances are made. Einstein worked out the theory of relativity and Edison electricity, but this was only after many years of work and learning from others. Creative breakthroughs rarely come out of the blue, they are almost always the result of years of hard work and close attention to something. Truly creative people work for work’s own sake. They love their work, and their dedication makes them better and better. One of the greatest golfers

Creative people take their intuition seriously, looking for patterns where others see confusion, and are able to make connections between discrete areas of knowledge. They have two things in abundance: curiosity and drive. Schooling is not a defining factor for truly creative people, nor does having a rich or poor family. Success usually comes to those that are curious and value endeavour over comfort. While others may be seen as more brilliant in their field, those with sheer desire and determination accomplish more.

VAUXHALL ANNOUNCES NEW ASTRA AND ASTRA SPORTS TOURER FOR 2026

SHARPER, SMARTER, GREENER. Vauxhall is doubling down on its refreshed line-up with the new Astra and Astra Sports Tourer, joining the recently updated Mokka, Frontera and Grandland.

56

The pair will make their official public debut at the Brussels Motor Show, running from 9 to 18 January 2026, bringing a sharper design, upgraded lighting tech and a stronger sustainability focus to Vauxhall’s compact-class bestsellers.

At first glance, the changes are all about a cleaner, more technical look. The Vauxhall Vizor front end has been tightened up, and for the first time on Astra, the Griffin badge is illuminated, a feature that previously premiered on Grandland. That emblem becomes the anchor point for new compass-inspired light signatures that stretch into the headlamps and into the bonnet creases, a design cue first seen on the Vauxhall Experimental Concept in 2023. New alloy wheel designs include 17-inch “Kaddett” and 18inch “Pentagon” and “Rekord” options, complemented by

time. With more than 50,000 individual lighting elements,

finished off with a contrasting black roof as standard. Tech upgrades are headlined by Intelli-Lux HD headlights, arriving on Astra and Astra Sports Tourer for the first the system is designed to deliver adaptive, glare-free illumination while reacting faster and more precisely to traffic ahead and oncoming vehicles than previous matrix systems. It also adjusts output in poor weather and fog to reduce glare from wet road surfaces, and can detect traffic signs, dimming LEDs to help prevent distracting reflections back to the driver. Inside, Vauxhall is pushing comfort and clarity. A more

streamlined cockpit layout aims to make infotainment and key controls more intuitive, following the approach seen on newer models like Grandland. Across the range, Intelli-Seats now come as standard, bringing a distinctive recessed channel through the front seat bases that Vauxhall says helps reduce pressure on the coccyx for long-distance comfort. For customers wanting more, higher-spec versions offer AGR-certified seats with features including multi-stage heating, electro-pneumatic lumbar support and optional massage and memory functions. Sustainability is a big part of the story too, with Vauxhall’s “Greenovation” approach bringing increased use of recycled materials throughout the cabin. Seat upholstery options include ReNewKnit, a mono-material with a suede-like finish made from 100% recycled content, chosen specifically to avoid the waste and complexity of separating composite fabrics at end of life. On the electric side, Astra Electric now offers a quoted WLTP range of up to 282 miles from its 58kWh gross battery capacity, extending the distance between charging

stops versus before. It also gains Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability for the first time, enabling the car to power or charge external devices such as e-bikes when you are away from a plug socket. Practicality remains a core selling point, particularly for the Sports Tourer. The hatchback offers up to 1,339 litres of cargo space with the rear seats folded, while the Sports Tourer increases that to up to 1,634 litres. The estate also adds flexibility with a 40:20:40 split-fold rear backrest for mixing passengers and longer loads. Catlin, Managing Director of Vauxhall, says the new Astra is “sharper, more modern and more sustainable than ever,” pointing to the illuminated Griffin and Intelli-Lux HD lighting as standout upgrades designed to take the brand’s compact-class favourite to “the next level.” More details are expected to be confirmed around the Brussels premiere in early 2026, with Vauxhall noting that availability and final consumption and range figures will be released closer to launch. 57
