A vCard is in essence, an electronic business card. They are a fast, easy way to transfer relevant contact details to another person, using a standardised format that is recognised by all relevant medias today: computers, smartphones and tablets.

MARK HADAWAY EDITOR PLENHAM LTD MARK HAS MORE THAN 15 YEARS’ WORTH OF EXPERIENCE WITHIN THE ACCIDENT REPAIR INDUSTRY, HAVING UNDERTAKEN VARIOUS ROLES AT PLENHAM LTD. Currently editor across Plenham’s portfolio of media outlets and publications, Mark is responsible for bodyshop magazine’s UK conference agenda and acts as chair for the bodyshop hosted Industry Forum initiative.

Mark is also a board member of IBIS and has acted as event moderator at both domestic and international events.

Mark has recently completed a level 7 diploma in strategic management and leadership as part of a bodyshop led, pioneering industry educational programme. His aim now is to continue the programme to MBA level.

Outside of work, Mark is a competitive sportsman competing in running and triathlon events.

SPEAKER PROFILE

CHRIS MCKIE NETWORK OPERATIONS DIRECTOR VIZION NETWORK CHRIS HAS WORKED IN THE BODY REPAIR SECTOR FOR 26 YEARS GAINING EXPERIENCE IN ALMOST ALL SECTORS. Starting his Bodyshop career in restoration Chris was trained in all aspects of the repair.

Moving to VWG in 1989 was the start of his strong manufacturer relationships. In 1993 a move to a multi-franchise business with responsibilities for Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Seat and Volvo strengthened this still further.

In 2001, Chris was recruited by Clarkes Accident Repair Centres as Group Operations Director to enhance their vehicle manufacturer strategies and insurer relations.

In 2009 Chris was appointed as Director Network Operations for Vizion Network, conceptualising several new important 28

initiatives for write-off avoidance and recycling and a string of very important IT system modules and processes which in turn has helped him and the team grow the Vizion business from 4000 to nearly 200,000 claims in 2015 in just over 6 years.

Chris has a high level of energy, ability and determination to get things done.

Experienced, knowledgeable and passionate about the industry, and uses his many connections within the Body Repair Industry to influence change. He holds strong opinions however is open to other’s views.

Chris is also Managing Director of WRC which utilises his passion for driving innovation through technology still further via advanced Web and App technologies.

ANDREW MARSH AUTO INDUSTRY INSIDER ANDREW GAINED A DEGREE IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING IN 1984 AND WORKED IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY AS A DESIGNER, DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER AND PROGRAMME MANAGER. Companies include Aston Martin, Ford of Europe, GM Europe, Lotus, Renault, Saab and Volvo. The technologies covered include whole vehicle, cooling systems, engines, transmissions, vehicle emissions and more.

From 2004 Andrew joined MIRRC Thatcham to provide them with sight of what vehicles and technologies would arrive, and when. In late 2007 he took over the collision repair information service ‘escribe’ production, increasing model coverage by 50% with just 75% of the original department headcount.

In 2011 Andrew became a founder member of Auto Industry Consulting Ltd, together with Mr Ben Cardy.

BEN DENSHAM CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER (CTO) NETTITUDE

BEN HAS A PASSION FOR CYBER SECURITY, HAVING WORKED IN THE INDUSTRY FOR THE LAST 18 YEARS. During his career in network security, Ben has been deployed as a penetration tester and risk management consultant and has developed an in-depth knowledge of cyber security and compliance issues Over the last eight years he has led and advanced the capabilities of the IT security, penetration testing, and governance, risk and compliance teams at Nettitude. As the CTO, he now oversees longer-term objectives at Nettitude, including establishing the firm’s R&D capabilities. Recent projects have included developing Nettitude’s managed logging and incident response service (www.Threat2Alert.com) and security awareness training services. Ben is a regular conference speaker, a member of various industry working groups for PCI and penetration testing, and holds technical accreditations with CREST, PCI (PCI, PA and P2PE) and CISSP.

“High-profile data breaches continue to dominate headlines and the cyber threat landscape is continuing to evolve. As more and more personal information finds its way online, individuals and organisations alike are increasingly vulnerable to the tactics used by today’s sophisticated cyber attackers. With the stakes this high, cyber security must be a top priority for everyone. Organisations are wise to assume that their networks are actively being targeted and must turn their attention to establishing a robust Response-in-Depth plan in order to contain an incident when, rather than if, one arises.”

WHAT’S THE MOST COMMON OVERSIGHT IN SECURITY?

“People are more often than not the weakest link when it comes to security. Organisations that just focus on technology are missing half of the picture and will not be able to accurately assess the threats facing

their business. As employees are such an important part of security, security awareness training is an essential, proactive control that businesses can take to mitigate the growing risks.

Those that focus on technology at the expense of their workforce do so at their peril.”

DO ALL BUSINESSES WHETHER BIG OR SMALL NEED TO REVIEW THEIR ONLINE SECURITY?

“Absolutely. Given the rapidly evolving cyber threat level, networks and employees in organisations of all sizes must be regularly put to the test with penetration testing exercises, and security processes should be continuously reviewed accordingly. For instance, as social engineering remains one of the most common forms of attack, our own teams regularly test organisations’ susceptibility to sophisticated phishing emails, recording an alarming average success rate of 90 percent on first attempts. And it only takes one error of judgement for an enterprise-wide breach to occur.”

BORN IN NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, NORTH EAST ENGLAND IN 1967 MATT IS THE ETERNAL OPTIMIST. From birth he had sever hearing problems (conductive deafness) which was undiagnosed until he was an adult. He actually sees himself fortunate to have this dis ‘ability’, as it has heightened his other senses to such a degree that he has developed a unique and uncanny gift. STEVE PROGRESSED QUICKLY TO A BODYSHOP MANAGER. This grounding provided Steve with a very holistic view of the repair sector which he uses to great effect within his job role.

He has worked in the manufacturer arena for the past fifteen years, for the past three years with Volvo Cars UK after having previously worked in the Insurance and accident management sector.

KEVERN THOMPSON UK BODY & PAINT PROGRAM JAGUAR/LANDROVER HAVING SPENT ALL OF MY CAREER IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY, I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO OF WORKED THROUGH AND WITHIN MOST ASPECTS OF THE BUSINESS. Starting as an apprentice Motor Technician and working my way up through the business into Bodyshop Management, my onward career development took me onto Insurance Assessor, Consultant and later on to work with several major motor manufacturers. Having been lucky enough to of worked with Toyota throughout Europe it gave me an insight into Bodyshop practises outside of the UK, where I quickly realised that we (the UK) were in a diminishing market regards skill set. That was 7 years ago and the situation has not changed much since then!

My 6 years spent at Jaguar Land Rover has enabled me to not only assist the Company developing the Body & Paint Network that we have today, but to also improve the standard and align ourselves

closer to the Customers expectation. I am very fortunate to support JLR across many departments, whilst also being considered experienced enough to be elected chair of the SMMT Vehicle Manufacturers Body Repair Working Group. Where like minded individuals working in other vehicle manufacturers share and discuss how we can best support the body repair industry.

The revision to the Code of Practise being one of the many subjects myself and the members have actively worked on. This industry continues to be a great source of challenge, which motivates and inspires both myself and my team. It is welcoming to see that an organisation such as Vizion are also very passionate in their pursuit to ensure their networks and ours remain at the forefront of the industry, and why we support their activities.

IAIN SINCLAIR SENIOR SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER AVIVA INSURANCE LTD HAILING FROM LIVERPOOL, IAIN HAS GLEANED A HUGE AMOUNT OF PROCUREMENT EXPERIENCE OVER 25 YEARS SPENT IN THE NUCLEAR, RETAIL AND INSURANCE INDUSTRIES. Having started his career post University working on large Nuclear Engineering and Construction Projects including the commissioning of Sizewell B Power Station he changed direction in the mid-1990’s joining Asda’s Procurement team in Leeds to manage a wide variety of different commodities ranging from packaging, carrier bags, shopping trolleys, in store maintenance contracts, fork lift trucks and finally new store build. In 2000 he joined what was then Norwich Union at their Norwich Head Office where he took responsibility for the management of the Property Repair Supply Chain covering builders, loss adjusters, glazing and drainage.

After 12 years of Property claims Iain was given the opportunity, in late 2012, to move into the world of Aviva’s Motor Supply Chain and has been responsible for the

sourcing of Motor Repairers since.

He is also responsible for managing a major relationship with the RAC. He remains a strong advocate of sustainable and collaborative relationships with Suppliers who he sees as an important extension of the Aviva brand and is excited by some of the recent developments in the Motor Repairer market place that place the customer at the heart of the claims process.

Outside of work Iain is married to Caroline and has two teenage daughters who will be doing their ‘A’ levels and GSCE’s this coming summer so expects the household stress levels to be high! He is also a fanatical village cricketer having been Club Captain of his local team for years. Iain is also a massive Liverpool FC supporter but enjoys most sports including Rugby and Cycling.

Ford expects to sell 200,000 SUVs in Europe in 2016 – a 200 per cent increase compared to 2013.

By only delivering torque where and when it is needed, Intelligent AWD has minimal impact on fuel-efficiency and CO2 emissions compared with permanent four-wheel drive systems.

All-new Edge will offer new Ford technologies, including Adaptive Steering, which automatically optimises the steering response according to vehicle speed, making it easy to manoeuvre at low speeds, while remaining precise and intuitive at higher speeds; and Front Split View Camera, which makes restricted visibility junctions or parking spaces easier to negotiate.
