VIZION STAFF COMPLETE REPAIR OVER REPLACE COURSE

DURING NOVEMBER 2022 AND JANUARY 2023, 15 MEMBERS OF VIZION STAFF ATTENDED TRAINING AT CENTRAL BEDS COLLEGE WITH CORNERSTONE TO GET SOME OVERSIGHT INTO THE TRAINING AVAILABLE AND SOME VALUABLE HANDS ON EXPERIENCE OF REPAIR TECHNIQUES.
The two groups including all staff from the Network, Regional and National Account Management teams were given a crash course in the complexities of plastic, steel and aluminium theory. They were introduced to methods of identifying materials correctly, understanding what is safe and viable to repair and selecting the best tool to suit the damage.
The teams got to experience hands on how to carry out tasks including plastic welding, push to paint, glue pulling and even got to play with a DoDa Bar (Yes, that is a thing!)
Juliet Scott, Network Manager, said: “We spent two fantastic days with the Cornerstone team in Bedfordshire, learning from the best. The knowledge and skills of their trainers is second to none.
We gained a fantastic insight into the incredible skill and attention to detail required by technicians to facilitate these safe, sustainable, and cost-effective repairs. It was clear that there is money to be made by repairing these parts that would traditionally be thrown in the skip.

Our training centre, pictured right, in Coventry offers IMI Accreditations in Senior Paint, Paint, Cosmetic and ReAccreditations, as well as IMI Professional Achievement Certificate courses in scuff and scratch, alloy wheel, glass repair, PDR and also detailing with our sister company Slim’s Detailing. We have continuously supported the IMI Skills Competition, Worldskills since 2011 and continue to look for ways to encourage new staff to join our fantastic industry.
