Harlequinade
Artist in Residence
Alexei Ratmansky brings this lost classic to life with a bold new staging, inspired by the archival notes of Marius Petipa.
Revel in pure comedic joy as Harlequin fights for his true love, Columbine, against her father’s wishes. Full of madcap humor and delightful dancing, this tribute to the Italian commedia dell’arte tradition is a visual treat for the whole family.
Leadership support for Harlequinade, part of the Ratmansky Project, has been generously provided by the Blavatnik Family Foundation and The Marjorie S. Isaac/Irving H. Isaac Fund.

Leadership support for The Ratmansky Project has been provided by Avery and Andrew F. Barth, the Blavatnik Family Foundation, Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton E. James, and The Ted and Mary Jo Shen Charitable Gift Fund.

Tharp Trio
Few choreographers have had as profound an impact on American dance as Twyla Tharp.
In these three astounding one acts, classical ballet mixes with modern forms, demonstrating Tharp’s mastery of movement. This breadth of style is supported by the melodies of Brahms and Haydn, the chill vibes of 1960s beach rock, and the compelling modern aesthetic of Phillip Glass.
This production of Deuce Coupe is generously supported through an endowed gift from the Toni and Martin Sosnoff New Works Fund.

Jane Eyre
JUNE 4–10 2019
Choreography by Cathy Marston
Music by Philip Feeney with musical excerpts from Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn and Franz Schubert
Martson’s Jane Eyre challenges the idea of a classic ballet heroine.
After a difficult upbringing, Jane becomes the Governess for the mysterious Mr. Rochester, discovering the struggles of society’s expectations. A literary classic brought to life by Cathy Marston’s stirring choreography and an enthralling Victorian design, Jane Eyre shows that love can conquer any obstacle.
This production is generously supported through an endowed gift from the Toni and Martin Sosnoff New Works Fund.

Le Corsaire
A dashing pirate’s love for a beautiful harem girl sets the scene for suspenseful abductions and dramatic rescues—featuring one of the most famous pas de deux in all of the classical ballet repertoire.
Boasting over 120 performers, Le Corsaire showcases explosive bravura dancing from ABT’s unbeatable roster of virtuoso dancers.
American Ballet Theatre’s performances of Le Corsaire are generously underwritten through an endowed gift from Irene and Fred Shen.

JUNE 17–22 2019
Set to Massenet’s lush score and inspired by the classic novel Manon Lescaut, this engrossing ballet soars to theatrical heights as the beautiful maiden Manon must choose between the temptations of wealth and the promise of true love.
American Ballet Theatre’s performances of Manon are generously supported through an endowed gift from Anka K. Palitz, in memory of Clarence Y. Palitz, Jr.
