The Royal Academy’s annual Summer Exhibition, the world’s largest opensubmissioncontemporaryartshow,willbein its 255th year It provides a unique platform for emerging and established artists to showcasetheirworkstoan international audience, comprising a range of media from painting, printmaking and photographytosculpture,architectureandfilm Ithasbeenheldeachyearwithoutinterruption since 1769. Around 1200 works will go on display, the majority of which will be for sale, offering visitorsanopportunitytopurchaseoriginalwork.Fundsraisedsupporttheexhibitingartists,the postgraduatestudentsstudyingintheRASchoolsandtheworkoftheRoyalAcademy.

Capturing the Moment will be a celebration of modern and contemporary painting, drawing on the rich holdings of the Yageo Foundation Collection. The exhibition will showcase how painters have captured moments in time on the canvas, and how painting and photography have influenced eachother.Itwillfeatureartistsspanningthe last80years,fromAndyWarhol,JeffWalland Lucian Freud to Michael Armitage, Louise LawlerandNijdekaAkunyiliCrosby.
