WELCOME TO DECEMBER December is the most magical month to visit London, with lots of festive things to do as Londoners celebrate Christmas and New Year.

Book ahead to enjoy Christmas pantomimes and shows or join a Christmas tour of London and beyond. London's shopping streets sparkle with Christmas lights in December, and shops are full of gift hunters finishing off their Christmas shopping. A focal point of the holiday season in London is Trafalgar Square, which resounds with carol singing around the capital’s biggest Christmas tree and lights up with a giant menorah for Chanukah.

CHRISTMAS IN LONDON Christmas Day and Boxing Day (25 and 26 December) are both bank holidays (public holidays) in London, with reduced opening times and transport service. GAIA Green in Mayfair 1 Berkeley St, London W1J 8NE Another restaurant coming to 1 Berkeley is this high-end restaurant that refers to itself as a "refined taverna concept" with Greek Mediterranean cuisine as the basis for the menu. They already have restaurants in Monaco and Dubai.

Sarah Lucas is internationally celebrated for her bold and provocative use of materials and imagery.

This exhibition presents her practice in all its diversity across sculpture, installation and photography, narrated in her voice, and looking well beyond the 1990s Young British Art world.

Breaking boundaries with humour and daring, Lucas shows us the whole spectrum of what it means to be human.

ART OF BANKSY ON NOW UNTIL 21 JANUARY, 84-86 REGENT STREET

The Art of Banksy, the exhibition that has brought the artist's era-defining works to over 1.5 million visitors across the globe is now open in London's iconic Regent Street.This major exhibition showcases the world's largest collection of original and authenticated Banksy artworks, including prints, canvases, exclusive hand drawn sketches and artworks created for the artist's closest circle, as well as global exclusives such as the first ever Flower Thrower and Mona Lisa, both on public display for the first time.An added bonus for the London exhibition is the iconic street piece, Valentine's Day Mascara, only discovered in Margate this year, that will be displayed fully in its original form.

See the iconic pieces that brought Banksy to international acclaim, including Girl with Balloon and Rude Copper and work from the now infamous Dismaland, the Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem and recent works that comment on the ongoing war in Ukraine.

A journey through painting and photography. The arrival of photography changed the course of painting forever. Degas, Cézanne, Morisot, Van Gogh. You might recognise their paintings, but it’s their radical works on paper we put the spotlight on in this groundbreaking exhibition.

In the whirl of modernity that was late 19th-century France, Impressionist and PostImpressionist artists radically transformed the future direction of art. But it wasn’t just through their paintings. In a subtle but seismic shift, they lifted the status of works on paper – drawings, pastels, watercolours, temperas, gouaches – from something preparatory that you left in a studio, to artworks in their own right.

In this rich exhibition, we bring together 77 works on paper by leading Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artists whose innovation would challenge traditional attitudes and ultimately pave the way for later movements like Abstract Expressionism.
