Editor’s Note One of the most exciting parts of developing an artwork is sourcing inspiration. While analyzing a contemporary painting, it’s easier to understand its meaning with the artist’s statement and an explanation of its process.

The beauty of the piece is directly related to where the source of inspiration comes from; which can be a place, a feeling, an energy, a culture or even just a thought. In the past, the muse of artists would be their lover, a beautiful utopic woman. The artists would paint her figures from many angles, in different places, from natural to surrealist.

Nowadays, a muse is anything. This issue of the magazine aims to build a personal relationship between the artist, the audience, and the final artwork. This book will be your muse and inspire you.
