Five suits owner and head brewer nick corona tasted a game-changing craft beer that was exceptionally transformative to his tastebuds nearly a decade ago. not long after that experience, he ordered a kit and got to work to see what was in the cards for him in the world of home brewing. could he create his own magical tasting experience that he could share with others? that was his true desire. after diving headfirst into the process, he began competing and winning scores of ribbons and medals in the home brew, craft beer world. He knew right away that he wanted to do more in this industry, so after years of dreaming and planning, he joined forces with members of his family to establish Five suits Brewing in June of 2020. wife Kandy, brother shane, mom Leslie and dad Joe, all bring their own unique and formidable skill set to the Five suits team and keep things humming on track.

Nick pushed himself to the very edge the first year of operation, holding down a full-time job in management at Valley View Casino while simultaneously putting his heart and soul into the brewery every day. The first two years were tenuous due to COVID restrictions and downturns, which clearly did not pair well with opening a brand-new business. Gratefully, loyal customers kept showing up and pulled them through. Even during difficult times, Five Suits has initiated many programs that give back to the community that has been so supportive of them. Opening this brewery has proven to be rewarding in so many ways, and building relationships is at the top of the list. What is the meaning and intention behind the brewery’s name? Using the family name Corona was certainly not in the cards for obvious reasons. Nick’s inspiration came from the industry he knows so well, gaming. The family surname Corona translates to the word crown, so a fifth suit was created, and the name was established. At Five Suits Brewing, they believe that good beer should not be a gamble (yes, they do love a good play on words). They

also believe in bringing community together and providing great times through means of gathering, creating relationship and memories, enjoying good food and drink, and perhaps even offering up a little gaming.
