NATURE AND ARCHEOLOGY IN THE CAÑETE VALLEY NOR YAUYOS- COCHAS NATURE RESERVE AND SCENIC PARK 03 Days / 02 Nights TRUE PERU Calle Martínez de Pinillos Nro. 30 Dpto. 401 Barranco – Lima Teléfono (+51) (1) 2477046 – 959-370-534 lvereau@true-peru.com www.true-peru.com In the alarming scenery of accelerated climate change and global warming we are facing, surely the preservation of the world’s non-polluted water sources will be one of the most important challenges humankind should face. This fact becomes especially relevant in Peru, identified as one of the most threatened countries of the planet. From immemorial times to now, the melting glaciers of the Nor Yauyos range and its snow covered peaks –with heights surpassing the 5000 meters over sea level- continue to feed a crystal clear system of lakes which constitute the birth place of the Cañete River. From this extreme Andean altitude, the river cuts a valley on the heart itself of the mountains, descending for more than 200 kilometers before it reaches the Pacific Ocean. The ancient Peruvian cultures knew how to rationally benefit from the diverse ecosystems and different altitudinal floors, successfully adapting crops and laboriously building agricultural terraces and irrigation systems. Join us and experience the great natural scenery of the Cañete River basin and its valuable resources, explore the old cities of the Yawyo civilization and helps us proposing responsible tourism as a possibility for sustainable development among its actual inhabitants.
