Wittman Regional Airport is Oshkosh’s only airport and hosts the annual EAA AirVenture Fly-In. The Appleton International Airport is only 20 miles north of Oshkosh and serves four airlines (American, Delta, United and Allegiant).

Spring awakens in the Paine gardens with thousands of tulips blooming throughout four acres of gardens. At least 10,000 tulips are displayed in the Formal Garden, while many more tulips color the mansion façade and various outdoor “galleries” with budding trees and the sounds of spring’s renewal all around.

Festival of Spring is a free outdoor event featuring the Paine’s annual spring plant sale and numerous vendors of original art, fine crafts, plants, and garden supplies. As a great source for a wide selection of perennials, the Paine’s plant sale offers thousands of “tried-and-true” plants as well as new and hard-to-find varieties. Throughout the day, enjoy free admission to the Paine mansion and gardens, an art activity for kids, tasty food, and live entertainment.
Faire on the Green

The largest art and craft fair of the summer in Oshkosh is the Paine’s Faire on the Green! From photography and jewelry to watercolors and pottery, more than 100 artists and craftspeople showcase their creations. Lake Winnebago
At nearly 132,000 acres, Lake Winnebago is the largest lake within the state. Visitors have access to the lake from numerous public boat landings and a public beach. The lake is well-known for Walleye fishing and Sturgeon spearing.
Menominee Park Zoo + Amusement Area
Located on the western shores of Lake Winnebago, this 100-acre park features an eight-acre zoo with 30-50 animals during the season, paved trails, playgrounds, athletic fields and restrooms.
Riverwalk + Wiouwash Trail
The Riverwalk is a beautiful paved trail stretching for nearly two miles along both sides of the Fox River connecting Downtown Oshkosh to the Wiouwash Trail. Enjoy great views of the river and a variety of waterfront restaurants. Benches and parks along the Riverwalk offer relaxing picnic areas.

If you didn’t know about Hughes’ Home Maid Chocolates store, you might actually miss it. The popular candy store is in a basement, hidden among the homes on 1823 Doty Street. Since 1940, this little house has been pumping out some of the best handcrafted chocolates you will ever try! You won’t find a big candy display, but, you will find generations of candy makers at work. Hughes is open seasonally from September through May and is definitely worth a visit!
If you are in need of a caffeine fix, there are a number of excellent coffee shops and cafés in Oshkosh to choose from.
Located at 100 City Center, Planet Perk sits in the heart of downtown Oshkosh. The shop specializes in great coffee, serving direct- and fair-trade coffee and tea. But, you’ll also find exceptional food, including fantastic soups and hearty sandwiches. Planet Perk also is home to the Planet Purrk Cat Cafe.
The nearby Caramel Crisp & Café, 200 City Center, is also a great place to get coffee. The café is best known for its coffee accompaniments, including cookies, pastries, ice cream, pies, as well as soups, sandwiches, and salads.
Pilora’s Café, 910 North Main St., offers excellent coffee as well as delicious food. From house-made Kombucha to fresh-brewed Colectivo Coffee, there is something for everyone here.
Thunderbird Bakery and Cafe offers fresh coffee drinks along with sourdough bread, hand-crafted pastries and more, at their newly renovated storefront and cafe. Conveniently located at 959 W 6th Ave.
Elsewhere Market & Coffee House located at 531 North Main brews up coffee and tasty treats in a beautiful spot in the heart of downtown Oshkosh. It is the perfect spot to meet a friend or to do some work. Located at 2271 Westowne Ave., Tamara’s the Cake Guru features some of the sweetest treats that will ever accompany a cup of coffee. Tamara’s serves up Colectivo Coffee and also has a full espresso menu, lattes, frappes and of course out-of-this-world cupcakes and other delicious goodies.
