This colourful 5 acre garden, adjacent to the historic market town of Helmsley is easily accessible on foot from the town centre car park. The National Centre for Birds of Prey is the largest collection of these wonderful birds in the North of England. A vast collection of owls, eagles, vultures, hawks, falcons and more are housed in spacious aviaries set within ancient oak woodland and rolling parkland. We are winners of White Rose awards for best small attractions and the sustainable tourism award. Our trained team of flying birds fly free for our visitors three times a day. Different birds are flown on each demo. Please allow 2 to 3 hours - we are a big place! Picnickers are welcome - or the Owl House Cafe serves a selection of hot and cold snacks and meals.
Access into the surrounding 300 acres of parkland is included and the parking is free. Located just 2 minutes drive (or 12 minutes walk) from the centre of Helmsley.

RSPB BEMPTON CLIFFS
30 minutes by car from Scarborough and 10 minutes from Bridlington. Just over a mile from Bempton Railway Station on the Hull to Scarborough line.
One of the UK’s top wildlife attractions, home to almost half a million seabirds from April to October including puffins (until mid-July) and gigantic gannets. Safe, cliff-edge viewing platforms offer unique stunning views of ‘Seabird City’. Enjoy a walk along the dramatic coastal path, part of the King Charles lll Coastal Footpath, pop into the Visitor Centre for a drink and a snack and have a wander around the shop where you can try and buy binoculars and telescopes for a wide range of budgets as well as gifts and souvenirs. Step into a world of arts, culture, sports and entertainment with The Scarborough Fair. From 30 May - 1 June, Scarborough Streets will bring street theatre, live music and dance performances to the town centre. Dive into the Scarborough Fringe between 13 - 22 June, where theatre, music, and comedy await to entertain all ages, and celebrate local creativity with exhibitions and workshops from Scarborough Art from 5 July - 3 August. For thrill-seekers, Scarborough Extreme from 12 - 14 July offers adrenaline-pumping spectacles, sports activities and taster sessions, while Scarborough Lights promises dazzling displays and winter illuminations between 14 November - 21 December.
