The A1(M) and A19 are the quickest routes to North Yorkshire, running through the middle of the county. Other main roads include the A171, which will take you along the coastal towns and villages; the scenic A64 travels between York and the coast; and the A170 skirts the southern end of the North York Moors National Park.
In the west, take the A61 between Harrogate and Thirsk; the A59 between Harrogate and Skipton; and the A65 runs along the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
