Welcome to the North Tyneside Winter Festival.

From early November through to January, there will be firework displays, Christmas Markets, pantomimes, opportunities to meet Santa and so much more.

There really is so much to see and do. Whatever you choose I hope you have a wonderful time with friends and family.

I would like to wish you all well this festive season and offer my best wishes for 2023.

NORTH TYNESIDE FIREWORKS

DISPLAY 6 November from 6pm Links, Whitley Bay Enjoy a free spectacular fireworks display along the coast. Fairground rides and refreshments from 6pm, with the main display starting at around 7pm. In the event of poor weather conditions the display will take place on the next available evening, weather permitting. 3

NORTH SHIELDS MARKET 2022 10 - 11 DECEMBER 10AM – 5PM SATURDAY 10AM – 4PM SUNDAY NORTHUMBERLAND SQUARE AND HOWARD STREET, NORTH SHIELDS TOWN CENTRE 10 The popular market returns with a brand new layout following the exciting redevelopment of Northumberland Square and surrounding areas. 10

This year will see over 70 traders along Howard Street offering a wide variety of goods including gifts, homeware, crafts and artisan produce. There will also be entertainment, live music and fairground rides for children. A pop-up food and drink village can be found in the newly landscaped Northumberland Square –there will be lots of seating as well as mulled wine and a wide selection of tasty street food.

Explore life as the Romans would have seen it at twilight, by the light of candles and lamps. This modern interpretation of the importance of light and colour in the Roman world is an opportunity to see the Roman Gallery and finds in a new and very different light.
