If you feel brave, follow the map to discover the story and characters hidden in the forest Answer all the questions and complete the tasks You must be very brave and watchful as the White Witch may be about and she can make it snow or even turn you into stone!

If you are ready to begin your journey, start outside the wardrobe

Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy were sent to live in the country with Professor Kirke during World War II

During a game of hide and seek, Lucy, the youngest, discovered a magical wardrobe She stepped inside and found herself in a strange, snowy wood

Walk to the lamp-post

Lucy met a faun called Mr Tumnus and he invited her to his house for tea

Turn left at the lamp-post and follow the path through the forest. Take the first left to Mr Tumnus’ house

Lucy and Mr Tumnus had a tea of sardines and cake He told her about the White Witch and how she turned her enemies to stone and made it always snow

Stop at the end of Mr Tumnus’ path

When Edmund visited Narnia, he met the White Witch and told her about Lucy meeting Mr Tumnus

“Edmund had never tasted anything more delicious ” CS Lewis

Turn right to find Mr Beaver’s house

Give him a big ‘thank-you’ for helping keep the children safe from the White Witch!

When all four children visited Narnia, Mr Beaver brought them safely to his home where he told them about Aslan They all decided to meet Aslan at the Stone Table but Edmund went to see the White Witch Along their journey the enchanted winter snow started to melt

At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more, when he bares his teeth, winter meets its death, when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again ” CS Lewis

Keep walking along the path, but look to the right!

On the journey to the Stone Table Lucy and Susan were scared by the wolf Maugrim

Watch out for cars when you cross the road and walk to your left Find the magical wood where the Whispering Tree Nymphs live.

Follow the path down the hill and turn right towards the maze.

After meeting the children at the Stone Table, Aslan rescued Edmund from the White Witch He then met with the White Witch that night

Walk up the hill and carefully across the road Follow the path through the forest to find Aslan

The next morning the Witch was gone Aslan had tricked her and then freed all Narnians she had turned to stone Aslan thanked the children for their help

Follow the path and head right up the hill to the Four Thrones of Narnia Here Aslan crowned the four children kings and queens of Narnia They reigned for 15 years making good laws keeping the peace and looking after nature This time was called The Golden Age

Turn left and walk up towards the lamp-post

Many years later, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy returned to the lamp-post They accidentally tumbled back out of the wardrobe back into our world No time had passed, and they were children again

In May 1949, C.S.Lewis sent his God Daughter Lucy the manuscript of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, with a letter:

My Dear Lucy, I wrote this story for you, but when I began it I had not realised that girls grow quicker than books. As a result you are already too old for fairy tales, and by the time it is printed and bound you will be older still. But some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again. You can then take it down from some upper shelf, dust it, and tell me what you think of it. I shall probably be too deaf to hear, and too old to understand a word you say, but I shall still be your affectionate Godfather, C. S. Lewis
