This is a collection of my photographs taken over the last 3 years. All feature landscapes in County Down. I make my own ultra large format cameras, and these images are either printed directly from the negatives, or are the actual negatives, chemically reversed into positive images. They range from 11”x 12” to 20”x24”.

These are long exposure images of up to 4 minutes; hopefully they reflect the calm, contemplative nature of both this photographic process and the quiet places found all over County Down.

My cameras and equipment are heavy to manoeuvre and there is a very physical experience in making these works, involving some lengthy walks; the collected photographs in the exhibition form a visual diary of the last 3 years for me, hence the title, “footnotes”.”
