From Forest to Fiddle

Newcastle Community Cinema Friday 5 September, 8pm

From a Forest to a Fiddle follows master luthier Jim McKillop as he lovingly constructs his final violin from raw timber to resonant tone.

This special event, hosted by Newcastle Community Cinema, combines the screening of Patrick Conway’s stunning documentary with a live performance of the original score by acclaimed Irish musicians Zoë Conway and John McIntyre.

Discover a peaceful retreat within the vibrant energy of the festival at our sensory sessions. Designed for those who seek a calm and nurturing environment, the sensory sessions offer a sanctuary from the bustling festival grounds.

Create your own Dream Catcher

Join us for a fun and creative 1-hour workshop where children can design and make their very own dream catchers!

Using colourful yarn, beads and feathers, each child will craft a unique piece to take home. No experience needed just bring your imagination and get ready for a bright, hands-on activity full of colour, creativity and fun!

Create your own Mandala Turtle

Join us for a colourful creative session where children bring turtles to life with beautiful mandala designs!

In this relaxing 1-hour workshop, children will explore patterns, colours and mindfulness through art. Each child will complete their own mandala turtle masterpiece to take home.
