ABOUT THE PAVILION

The Gozo Indoor Sports & Aquatic Pavilion (GISAP) is a 5,000m² state-of-the-art complex in Victoria. It was created to:

Inspire healthy lifestyles

MISSION

Deliver world-class facilities and customer service while championing sustainability, accessibility, and lifelong well-being.

COMMUNITY ROLE

Hosting everything from school PE lessons and family classes to international tournaments, GISAP drives both well-being and sport tourism.

FACILITIES

FACILITIES

MAIN HALL

The Pavilion’s multi-sport arena revolves around a full-size FIBA basketball court that flips seamlessly to volleyball, badminton, netball or handball. Retractable bleachers seat roughly 700 fans, while a sprung hardwood floor, LED game lighting and electronic scoreboards give the space a true arena feel. With climate control, accessible changing rooms and generous run-off zones, the hall serves everything from school fixtures and community leagues to international training camps and tournaments.

GYMNASTICS HALL

The Pavilion’s Dedicated Gymnastics Training Hall is a bright, double-height space built to FIG standards. It offers a sprung 14 × 14m competition floor, full sets of bars, beam, rings and vault, plus a 25m rod-floor tumble track that finishes in a foam pit for safe skill progressions. Retractable seating, climate control, and glare-free LED lighting make it competition-ready, while adjoining dance studios, a strength-and-conditioning corner and physio rooms give athletes everything they need from warm-up to recovery.

A MULTI-FUNCTIONAL OLYMPIC-SIZED POOL

Gozo’s brand-new Indoor Sport and Aquatic Pavilion features a full-spec 50m × 25m Olympic pool laid out across ten competition-width lanes.

Engineered to FINA standards, the tank is built with Fluidra’s Skypool steel-panel system and integrates a state-of-the-art movable floor, so the depth can be dialled anywhere from shallow learn-to-swim settings up to a 3m deep-water configuration ideal for water-polo and elite meets.

Spectator galleries overlook the deck, while starting blocks, integrated timing pads and LED scoreboards are already in place to host sanctioned events. Behind the

scenes, an energy-efficient

filtration and UV disinfection train keeps water crystal-clear, and the hall’s climate-control system maintains pool-side comfort year-round. Fully accessible changing suites, pool lifts and wide deck space ensure inclusivity for para-athletes, rehab sessions and community programmes. In short, the Pavilion’s Olympic pool delivers international-level performance and versatility at the heart of Gozo’s new 5,000m² multi-sport hub.

OUTDOOR MULTIPURPOSE COURT

This versatile outdoor multi-purpose court is designed to accommodate a variety of sports and recreational activities within a single, durable playing surface. Located within the sports pavilion complex, the court is marked and equipped to support popular games.

OUTDOOR PADEL COURT

The outdoor padel court is a dedicated facility designed for the fast-growing sport of padel, combining elements of tennis and squash. Built to official dimensions and standards the court is situated within the sports pavilion grounds.

SQUASH COURT

The Pavilion’s squash suite features three championship-dimension, glass-back courts. Each court rests on a shock-absorbing maple floor and is illuminated by even, glare-free LED panels that meet broadcast lux levels. Behind the glass backs, ample space for up-close spectators, while acoustic baffles keep noise from spilling into neighbouring halls. Integrated digital scoreboards, fully accessible changing rooms and a dedicated warm-up zone just outside the court doors round out a professional, competition-ready environment.

MULTI-PURPOSE STUDIOS

These flexible indoor studio spaces are designed for activities such as yoga, dance, and group fitness classes. Featuring high-quality sport flooring, mirrored walls, and climate control, the studios offer a comfortable and safe environment for movement-based sessions. Ideal for both recreational and structured programs, they support a wide range of wellness and fitness activities.

CLIMBING WALL

Reach new heights on our 7-metre climbing wall. Whether you’re a first-time climber or already love the sport, you’ll enjoy testing your skills on different routes. The wall includes a dedicated speed lane for those who like a friendly race to the top, and all features are built to international IFSC standards for a safe and exciting experience.

WELLNESS AREA

The wellness area offers a serene space for recovery and relaxation, featuring a sauna, steam room, and ice room to promote circulation and muscle recovery. A dedicated physio room is also available, providing professional support for rehabilitation and physical therapy. This area is designed to enhance overall wellbeing, making it an ideal complement to any fitness or sports program.

SUPPORT AREAS

The support areas are thoughtfully designed to enhance visitor comfort and convenience. Facilities include family and accessible showers for inclusive use, a first aid bay for immediate medical assistance, and a welcoming café offering refreshments and light meals. These amenities ensure a safe, accessible, and enjoyable experience for all users of the sports pavilion.
