Grandparents’ Day Picnic

Bring your loved ones to a picnic at McFee Park to celebrate the grandparents in your family! Bring a picnic lunch, sunscreen and some gratitude for your grandparents There will be yard games and a craft station Register for the picnic.

McFee Park

Sleep under the stars with Farragut Parks & Recreation! Check-in begins at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sep. 19, and checkout is by 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sep. 20. Dinner and breakfast are included. Families must supply their own tent and sleeping bags Register for the campout.

Sourdough for Beginners

July 10, Aug 14, Sept 11; 6:30-7:30 pm

Learn a Fiber Art Series

Wednesdays, July 23-August 27, 5-6:30 p.m.

Ages 12 and up, $5 per class

Ages 12 and up, $15 per class. Sourdough basics for beginners: Review of tools, terminology, and techniques for baking your own bread at home! All materials will be provided. We will not be baking bread in class, but participants will receive their own sourdough starter to take home! Register for the class.

Beginner American Sign Language

Mondays, July 7 – Aug. 25, 5:30-7 p.m.

Ages 18 and up, $75

Learn a new language at the Farragut Community Center! Beginner ASL will be conducted completely in sign and will teach students the alphabet, fingerspelling, basic vocabulary and common phrases. Register for the class.

Mahjong and Gaming Club

Every other Tuesday, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Ages 9 and up, free

Join us to learn new games! There will be special classes to learn mahjong, tong-its, chess, checkers and other organized board games. View the full schedule.

Can't decide what crafting niche to get started in? Try out six different kinds of fiber arts at the community center. This will be a quick introduction and a chance to explore different facets of the fiber arts. All supplies will be provided. The weekly schedule can be found below. Preregistration is required for each class.

Paint a Friend Challenge

Wednesday, August 6, 7-8 p.m.

Ages 10 and up, $10 per couple

Join us for a night full of laughter with this fun challenge! Bring a friend, a sibling, a parent, or a partner to the community center to paint a portrait of each other. No need to be artistic to have fun at this event! Try your best, and then we’ll reveal the masterpieces at the end All supplies are provided Please register one person per couple. Creative Coloring

Wednesdays, July 30-Sept. 10, 4-5 p.m.

Ages 12 and up, free

Relax, color, and connect! Join our weekly Creative Coloring sessions for a calming, creative break and a fun hour of socializing.

Drop-in for a social hour of productivity! Use this time to learn some new stitches, finish any WIPs you have or chat with other fellow crocheters and crafters. A Keurig, mugs and creamer will be provided Bring your own yarn, hooks, Keurig pods or tea bags and any other materials you may need. No preregistration required.

Scrapbooking Class

Tuesdays, Aug. 5, 19, Sept. 2; 6:30–8 p.m.

Ages 10 and up, $4 per person

Capture memories, socialize and get creative! Join our biweekly scrapbooking class at the Farragut Community Center, where crafters of all levels come together to design beautiful, personalized pages. Whether you're new to scrapbooking or a seasoned pro, you'll find inspiration, tools, and friendly guidance. Bring your creativity and your favorite photos!

Limited supplies provided please bring your own materials if you have them!

National Be Nice to Bugs Day

Farragut Community Center Greenspace July14, 4-6 pm

All ages, free

Join us for a celebration of National Be Nice to Bugs day. There will be a variety of dropin activities geared towards youth, all about bugs! Registration is encouraged but not required.

Bingo

July 1, 15, 29; 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Ages 10 and up, $4 per person

Join us every other week for Bingo at the Farragut Community Center Enjoy a night of prizes, fun and friendly competition. Ages 10 and up are welcome! Bring your family and friends to try your luck!

Spring Adult Volleyball Leagues

Cost: $175 per team for recreation and intermediate leagues

Drop-in Dodgeball

Tuesdays, 7-9 p.m.

Ages 18 and up, $2 per player

$125 per team for competitive fours league

Late summer recreational league (six players)

Games will be played on Monday evenings beginning July 7 at Mayor Bob Leonard Park. Two women must be on the court at all times.

Drop-in Dodgeball provides adults the opportunity to make friends and get exercise by playing a weekly game of dodgeball. We will divide into two teams and play classic dodgeball We look forward to playing with you!

Farragut Community Center offers Program Punch Cards for $30 each. These cards contain $40 worth of program punches, can be shared among family members and do not expire. Ask our front desk staff about this deal the next time you visit!

OPEN GYM

Youth Basketball Open Gym

Tuesdays and Fridays, June 3-July 29, 4-6:30 p.m.

Cost: $2 per person

Ages 13 and under

Volleyball Open Gym

Mondays, 6:30-9 p.m.

Cost: $4 per person

Ages 14 and up

This basketball open gym is specifically for youth ages 13 and under. Parents/guardians must stay on-site with participants.

Family Basketball

Thursdays, 4-6 p.m.

Cost: $2 per person

No need to pre-register – just bring a ball and get ready to play! Please arrive a few minutes early to check in and get your free community center membership. This session is specifically for youth and families to shoot around and play without the intensity of pickup open gyms.

Limited equipment is available for checkout and nets are provided. Please arrive a few minutes early to check in and get your free community center membership. To maximize community use, users may experience wait times.

Pickleball Open Gym

Mondays and Fridays, noon-3 p.m.

Wednesdays, 4-9 p.m.

Cost: $4 per person

Grab a paddle and get ready to play! During this time, the gym is on the challenge court system To maximize community use, users may experience wait times.

Pickup Basketball

Thursdays, 6:30-9 pm

Cost: $4 per person

Ages 14 and up

No need to pre-register – just bring a ball and get ready to play! This session is specifically for individuals who want to play scrimmage-style, non-refereed games.

YOUTH

Math Bites: Session 1

Friday, July 11, 1-3 p.m.

Grades 2-4, $12 per child

Students explore single, double and multi-digit number operations in a fun, supportive environment. All materials are provided. Register for Session 1

Art Adventures

Tuesdays, June 17-July 29, Aug. 12-Dec. 16, 2-3:30 p.m.

Ages 6 to 12, $4 per child

Each week, school-aged artists create a new project with varying mediums. All skill levels are welcome! Preregistration is not required

Math Bites: Session 2

Friday, July 25, 1-3 pm

Grades 4-6, $12 per child

Students experience problems, math games and story time with decimals, fractions and percents. All materials are provided. Register for Session 2.

Creative Space

Mondays, 3:30-5:30 pm

Ages 6-12, free

A perfect opportunity for schoolaged kids to use the classroom for open-ended work time Limited supplies for various activities are provided.

Kids Free Play (Open Gym)

Mondays through July 28, 4-5 p.m.

Ages 4 to 12, $2 per child

Kids can play and stay active in this open gym! With plenty of space and fun activities, it's the perfect way to burn energy and have a blast!

Afterschool Art

Wednesdays, Aug. 13-Dec. 17, 3:30-5 p.m.

Ages 6 to 12, $4 per child

Beginner Ballet

Level 1: Thursdays, 3-4 p.m.

Cost: $30 per month

Beginner Ballet teaches the fundamentals of ballet and focuses on grace, flexibility, teamwork and creativity. Please come to class with hair pulled back, tights, leotard, ballet shoes and a smile! Register for Beginner Ballet.

It’s time for toddlers to get some group-led activity in and a lot of energy out! Parents are encouraged to participate!

Learn to Ride a Bike Workshop

Mayor Bob Leonard Park

Monday, Aug 11, 4:30-6 pm

Ages 5 to 8, $5 per child

This is a course for kids learning how to ride a bicycle! Bring your own bicycle and a helmet. Please remove training wheels before arrival. Register for the workshop.

This introductory program teaches tiny athletes the building blocks of tennis! We will focus on hand-eye coordination, basic strokes and related gross motor skills Preregistration is required, as space is limited! Parents are required to participate with their child. Register for Tiny Tots.

Storytime Crafts

Tuesdays, Aug. 5-Sept. 30, 9:15-10 a.m.

Age: 3 to 5, $2 per child

Join us for a fun storytelling session with picture books and a related craft. No preregistration required.

American Sign Language for Kids

Session 1: Tuesdays, July 8-29, 3:30-4:30 p.m.; register for session 1.

Session 2: Tuesdays, Aug 5-26, 4:30-5:30 p.m. ; register for session 2.

Ages 6 to 14, $20 per session

This beginner American Sign Language (ASL) class will include learning ASL vocabulary with visual aids, engaging conversation and fun games and activities.

Elementary Homeschool PE

Grades K-5 (ages 6-10)

Tuesdays, Aug. 12-Dec. 16, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Wednesdays, Aug. 13-Dec. 17, 1-2 p.m.

Learn a Sport Series

Ages 6-12, $10 per child

This homeschool PE class will feature sports and group games that emphasize teamwork, good sportsmanship, physical activity and fun! Participants must be at least 6 years old to participate. Preregistration is not required.

Middle School Homeschool PE

Grades 6-8 (ages 11-14)

Wednesdays, Aug. 13-Dec. 17, 2:303:30 pm

Cost: $2 per child

This homeschool PE class will emphasize organized sports, competition and physical activity, while still including plenty of group games, teamwork and fun!

Preregistration is not required.

Kids get hands-on experience with a different sport each week, from soccer and basketball to tennis and more. No prior experience needed just a willingness to learn and move. Register for the series

Youth Tennis Lessons

McFee Park

Mondays, Sept 8-29, 5-6 pm

Ages 7 to 9, $15 per child

Perfect for beginner youth who are interested in playing tennis! We will learn basic strokes, serves and other skills necessary for enjoying the game. Register for tennis lessons.

HABIT Dog Reading Hour

Tuesdays, July 1-29, 12-1:30 p.m.

Ages 5 to 12, $2 per child

Join a HABIT (Human-Animal Bond in Tennessee) dog for a reading hour! This is a great opportunity to improve read-aloud skills, socialization and enjoy quiet, creative activities. Register for each session individually.

FITNESS

Rise and Shine Yoga

Mondays and Fridays, 8:15-9:15 a.m.

Cost: $4 or two punches on a punch card per session.

Zumba

Tuesdays, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Cost: $4 per class

Ages 18 and up

Rise and shine! Start your day off right with a morning yoga class led by registered yoga teacher Mindy Wise or Jenny Trussell! Bring a yoga mat, water and a positive attitude!

Sunrise Stretch

Wednesdays, 8:15-9:15 a.m.

Cost: Free

Start your day off right with a sunrise yoga session! This 60-minute class is the perfect way to start the day for beginning to advanced yogis with registered yoga teacher Jenny Trussell. Bring a mat and a smile.

We take the "work" out of workout with Zumba! Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance class that makes getting fit, fun!

Total Fitness

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30-9:30 a.m.

Cost: $4 or two punches on a punch card, per session.

Join Rachel Piotrowski, certified group exercise instructor and personal trainer, for a total body fitness class! This class is tailored to individuals of all fitness levels and focuses on functional exercises to improve overall strength and balance. Don’t forget water, a mat and weights or resistance band
