Fort George A picturesque sail down the majestic River Foyle gives smaller cruise vessels unique access to the heart of Derry~Londonderry.

Lisahally Terminal is located at the commercial port 7 miles from the city centre. The terminal can accommodate medium sized vessels up to 215m berthing alongside, offering plenty of space for coach parking and welcome entertainment.

This deep water tender port offers over 10m of water and can accommodate large ships carrying up to 3,000 passengers. The tender time is just 5 minutes to shore and two pontoons can safely accommodate up to 4 tenders at a time.

A quick 15-20 minute transfer by shuttle bus takes passengers to the Tourist Information Office where they will be welcomed by the Visit Derry Cruise Team who are onsite all day to help passengers plan their visit.

The quaint fishing village of Greencastle is idyllically located on the Wild Atlantic Way, ideal for panoramic excursions exploring Co. Donegal. A 40 minute coach transfer of peaceful emerald scenery and rows of traditional Irish farms takes you to the Walled City of Derry whilst the ferry can accommodate up to 2 coaches at a time for the 15 minute crossing to Magillian and the Giant’s Causeway.

This city centre berth is located a 15 minute stroll along the river’s promenade, taking passengers to the city centre where Derry’s historic 17th Century Walls, wide range of cultural attractions, shopping outlets, welcoming restaurants and friendly pubs are all within easy access, with plenty of ‘selfie’ photo opportunities along the way!

Wonder Wall… Take a guided tour of Derry~Londonderry’s 17th Century Walls and discover the city’s compelling, complex and often entertaining history, brought to life for passengers by animated characters and period re-enactments at various intervals. Built by the Honourable the Irish Society in 1613, and still owned by these London Livery Companies, the Walls are one of the finest examples of their kind in Europe. Tour will also include an exclusive visit to St Columb’s Cathedral Chapter House Museum which houses the original births, deaths and marriages records dating back to the 1600’s, various artefacts from the Siege of Derry, the original locks to the City’s four gates, furniture gifted to the Cathedral by the famous Thomas Chippendale and some of the oldest examples of Irish silver on record. Derry is home to a number of famous singers, song writers and playwrights – a literary tour adds a unique twist to a guided walk of the 17th Century Walls. Derry is a University city and our local Cambridge educated academics can deliver lectures from a wide range of topics including Irish History, Peace & Conflict Resolution and Genealogy, either onboard or in the city, ideal for special interest cruises. Civic Wine Reception Built in 1887, the neo-gothic Guildhall is one of the most striking buildings in the city, home to one of the largest collections of stained glass in Ireland. This spectacular venue is located adjacent to the iconic city Walls overlooking the Peace Bridge, where following their city tours, passengers will be officially welcomed to the city with a complimentary wine reception hosted by the Lord Mayor before returning to the ship. Walled City Brewery Craft Beer Tasting Experience A Taste of Ireland As the saying goes, eat, drink and be merry – here you can enjoy the finest locally sourced produce including ‘from pier to plate’ fresh seafood from neighbouring County Donegal as well as locally bred beef, lamb and venison. Keeping it local is important to us and we love to include locally produced beverages such as Walled City Brewery and Northbound craft beers or award winning The Quiet Man whiskey so your passengers can enjoy a true taste of the city!

Traditions Meet Discover the city’s political history and journey to peace with a visit to the Museum of Free Derry which narrates the 1960s civil rights era known as The Troubles, the Free Derry Irish nationalist movement in the early 1970s and details of Bloody Sunday. Located in the Bogside district amongst the iconic Murals known as ‘The People’s Gallery’ which were painted by The Bogside Artists, the museum’s exhibits include photographs, posters, film footage, letters and personal artefacts. Tour will also include a visit to the Siege Museum which details the Siege of Derry; the longest Siege in British military history nearly three and a half months, ending on 30 July 1689.

The Irish Coffee Connoisseur Following a busy morning exploring the Walled city, it’s time to relax and have some fun! Using the awardwinning and locally distilled ‘Quiet Man’ whiskey, ‘The Irish Coffee Connoisseur’ offers a fantastic 1 hour Irish coffee making masterclass within the quaint surrounds of the Thatched Cottage at the Craft Village. Passengers can not only enjoy sampling this sumptuous treat but learn the skilful art of pouring so they can master it at home! This lively activity also includes a ‘trad’ Irish music session where passengers can join in the ‘craic’, pick up a ‘bodhran’ (Irish drum) and play!

Located within the historic Ebrington Square which was an army base for the US Navy and US Marines during World War II, the Walled City Brewery is a fantastic venue for a relaxed culinary activity where you can enjoy a sampling of fabulously flavoursome artisan craft beers accompanied by a selection of delicious locally sourced, rustic yet elegant cuisine led by Master Brewer James Huey. The experience will be narrated by a slideshow of imagery showcasing Ebrington’s fascinating history. Sample beers include: Stitch- inspired by the city’s extraordinary shirt factory history. Kicks- inspired by the greatest band ever to come out of Derry, The Undertones! Passionista- a deliciously fruity beer ideal to convert those non beer drinkers! The Celtic Ceol Company Duration: 1 hour Derry is known as ‘The City of Song’ and you will find lively ‘trad’ music sessions on every street and corner. The most popular instruments to get any ‘Seisun’ started include the Irish ‘bodhran’ or drum, and of course the tin whistle. Musically minded passengers will love these hour long sessions with The Celtic Ceol Company where they will learn the basic rhythms of traditional music, leaving with an Irish tune and your very own bodhran or tin whistle to take home. For larger passenger groups, why not join a cast of world-renowned musicians, singers and dancers for a traditional Irish music and dance experience. They invite you to an intimate gathering where you can step back in time to enjoy the craic and company in an Irish ceilidh setting. Oakfield Park Located in Co. Donegal, Oakfield is wonderful landscape of parkland, woodlands, lakes and formal gardens set around a restored 18th century deanery. The grounds include walled gardens, ponds, lakes, a lakeside Nymphaeum, a hedge maze, heritage trees, sculptures and a Diesel & Steam Train operating passenger trips each day.

Built between 1779 and 1781 and the home of the Duke of Abercorn, Baronscourt Estate is a neo-classical mansion surrounded by ornate Italian-style gardens and woodland. This exclusive venue is located just 40 minutes’ drive from Derry~Londonderry where passengers can enjoy tours of the magnificent mansion house and gardens followed by tea and scones. Glenveagh National Park & Castle Explore the stunning natural beauty, castle and gardens within the magnificent Glenveagh National Park by electric bike and make sure to have your camera handy - in addition to the red deer, peregrine falcons and an occasional golden eagle call this park their home so be on the lookout. The castle’s gardens are exquisite and worth discovering. The layout of the original 19th century Victorian Garden remains intact while modern gardens such as the Gothic Orangery and Italian Tuscan are also picture-worthy. Duration: Half day

Seamus Heaney HomePlace Poetry Slam Celebrating the life, literature and legacy of one of Ireland’s greatest writers, Seamus Heaney HomePlace stands at the heart of the area where the poet, scholar and Nobel Laureate spent his formative years and to which he returned time and time again as a rich source of inspiration for his poetry. Take to the stage yourself in the venue’s Helicon Theatre and create a Heaney inspired poetry slam for your guests!

Causeway Coastal Route Myths & Legends

The city of Derry~Londonderry can, with authenticity, tell the story of emigration from Ireland. Derry remained a major Irish emigration port throughout all significant phases of emigration and millions of people across the globe can claim Irish ancestry, particularly traced back to the North West of Ireland. The Ulster American Folk Park is a living history museum which uses costumed characters to narrate this fascinating story where passengers can discover the history of the millions who emigrated from these shores throughout the 18th and 19th Centuries, hop aboard a coffin ship to make the transatlantic voyage to New York, or enjoy craft demonstrations such as candle making and bread baking.

Take advantage of the city’s fantastic location and explore the rest of the region; less than a 1 hour drive takes you along the magnificent Causeway Coastal taking in major visitor attractions such as the UNESCO World Heritage Site the Giant’s Causeway, one of the natural wonders of the world. The guides here will enthral you with local folklore including the famous myth of the giant, Finn McCool. From there take an Indiana Jones trek across Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. Swaying 80 feet above the sea this is definitely not for the faint hearted!

Whilst you are in the area, check out Gray’s Printing Press - it was at this 18th century printing business that President Wilson’s grandfather James and John Dunlap, printer of the Declaration of Independence, learned their trade. Duration: Half day

World War II Heritage The most westerly allied port in Europe, Derry was a key communications base during the Battle of the Atlantic and was the location of the official surrender of the German U-boat fleet in 1945.

Game of Thrones Whether you are from House Stark, Lannister, Greyjoy, Targaryen or Tyrell, the Game of Thrones locations are right on our doorstep and will get anyone excited! The award winning television series has extensively used the stunning scenery of the Causeway Coastal Route to represent everything from Winterfell to the King’s Road, the Iron Islands to Stormlands. Derry~Londonderry is within close proximity to key filming sites such as Downhill Beach, Carrick-A-Rede and the North Antrim Coast. Get into character and try out the Stark and Iron Born cloaks, swords, shields and helms which make for some amazing selfies! Duration: Full day

Birdwatching The city is located just 20 minutes transfer to Ireland’s premier wetland site, Inch Wildfowl Reserve - an internationally significant destination and staging ground for migrating birds from three continents. It is a Special Protected Area (SPA) under the EU birds’ directive. The lakes and the surrounding land support a large population of water birds including swans, waders such as Curlew, Bar-tailed Godwit and Redshank and smaller birds such Sedge Warbler, Grasshopper Warbler and Reed Bunting.

The city with the shortest ‘drive’ to The Opens!

An hour’s transfer will take you to the North Antrim Coast where you can find fulmar, black guillemot, eider, turnstone, chough, buzzard, raven and wheatear. From here, the offshore Rathlin Island and Royal Society for the Protection of Birds Seabird Centre is home to one of the largest breeding seabird colonies in Europe including puffin, guillemot, razorbill and kittiwake.

The North West region of Ireland was named by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators as ‘European Golf Destination of the Year’ and thanks to the ongoing successes of our three Champions Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell and Darren Clarke, Northern Ireland is now one of the most sought after golf destinations in the world! The region has played host to top tournaments including the 2017 ‘Irish Open’ at Portstewart Golf Club, the 2019 ‘Irish Open’ at Ballyliffin Golf Club and the prestigious 2019 ‘The Open’ at Royal Portrush. Derry~Londonderry is the perfect location for golfers to play a range of Championship Courses along the North West Coast of Ireland so consider ‘The City with the Shortest Drive to The Opens!’ for your golfing passengers - less than a 1 hour drive from Royal Portrush and also Ballyliffin Golf Club (designed by Nick Faldo, located in Co. Donegal). The city of Derry~Londonderry is home to two fantastic parkland courses, and the tender port at Greencastle is located next to the beautiful Greencastle links golf course. For those seeking a relaxing experience, enjoy a panoramic morning tour of Donegal’s beautiful scenery, followed by afternoon tea fit for a King and Queen at this fabulous castle. Additional activities include ‘Learn the Traditional Irish Culinary Art of Smoking Your Own Salmon’ and ‘Experience the Art of Weaving with Donegal Tweed’. Duration: Full day

The Quiet Man Distillery & Visitor Experience Coming Soon! (2019) The Quiet Man is the first whiskey to be produced in Derry in almost 100 years and construction has commenced on a new visitor experience and distillery, due to open in 2019. This exciting attraction will take visitors on a journey through the complex distilling process, finishing up in the distillery’s landscaped whiskey garden where you can kick back, relax and put the world to rights as you enjoy a tasting session of this globally award winning single malt.

A Taste of the Wild Atlantic Way The ‘Spud Specialists’ over at the local Muff Liquor Company have crafted a new potato based premium quality handcrafted gin steeped in tradition and legacy. This Award Winning gin (Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America) takes that well-established heritage and includes a fine selection of other base botanicals - along with potato, it features mandarin, lemon, rosemary and elderflower that blend together to create an aromatic taste fusion.

Walled City Crafters

Passengers will enjoy a sampling session featuring the process behind this unusual concept plus 3 drinks to enjoy; Muff Gin and Fever Tree Tonic with orange and rosemary garnish, The Muff Man and Gin & Roses.

The Cottage Craft Gallery and Coffee Shop is housed in a 17th century Irish thatched cottage.
