World class World Heritage Site

King Charles XI founded Karlskrona in 1680 to establish a base for the country’s warships. A civilian community grew around the base to provide the naval base with all the services and supplies needed – this laid the foundation for Karlskrona to become a World Heritage Site. Visitors can explore all the places and things that make Karlskrona a World Heritage Site. You can either explore on your own or join one of the many guided tours to destinations at this World Heritage Site. The tours are often available in different languages.
