Inside this issue you will find the power of the mindset, to manifesting your vision along with another set of power words and many more stories. Each story will empower you to create a Vision Board.

WHY Let me ask you a question. Have you ever find yourself sitting someplace, looking around and saying to yourself; is this it? In that moment, you realize that you have so much to offer. And, there is so much out in the world for you.

Well, this happened to me. Over 10 years, I’ve empowered women by hosting Vision Made Vision Board parties, while also coaching them. I realized my purpose in life is to empower and inspire women. During the course, we explored challenges of What If and I Can’t. Then I knew I needed to create a tool that women could enfold and apply in their day to day lives.

As a magazine enthusiast; who is obsessed with flipping through pages, looking at pictures and reading invigorating stories. I have always felt motivated and inspired, which is the catalyst that kindled my love for Vision Boards. So I combined my two loves and created Vision Made Magazine.

The first step towards manifesting your dream is to get clarity on your goals and desires out of life. This step will take you towards designing a vision board that is anchored by your vision, and your vision is anchored by your desire out of life.

Having designed a vision board the second step is to regularly focus and visualize your vision. It’s like the old fable, if you see it will come true. A vision board brings your dreams loud and clear in front of you. By helping you work towards them consciously and subconsciously.

Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put 12 cupcake holders in the pan.

Take a teaspoon of the dried culinary lavender flowers, place them on a cutting board, and carefully dice into tiny pieces, continually running the knife over them until you have a fine powder. You can also use a mortar and pestle, but that is definitely a lot of arm work. Then, set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk together the half and half (or coconut milk), eggs, lemon juice, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and lemon zest until smooth. Set aside. In another large bowl, whisk your dry ingredients together: almond flour, Swerve Confectioner, crushed lavender, baking powder and baking soda, and gelatin.

Then, sift the dry ingredients over the wet ingredients. You can use a whisk to push the flour back and forth over the sieve, if you prefer to use that instead of a sifter. Blend the dry ingredients and wet ingredients together with your whisk quickly until you have a smooth batter. Use this batter immediately or it will seize up.

Spoon batter into cupcake liners ½ of the way full. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes and then bake an additional 12 minutes with a sheet of foil lightly resting over the top of the cupcakes like a tent or dome. Keep an eye on your cupcakes. Not all ovens are made the same.

Remove from the oven and let them cool COMPLETELY before removing from the pan. Keto cupcakes are VERY fragile. If you’re in a hurry, place them in the freezer for 25 minutes or so.

With a hand mixer (not a stand because keto frosting is not a lot), blend together your softened cream cheese and butter. Add lemon juice and half and half (or coconut milk) and then blend again. It will smooth out once the Swerve is added, so do not panic if it doesn’t look right at first. Finally, sift in Swerve, and then blend on high speed. If you want a thicker texture like I do, add a little more Swerve. If you want it thinner, then add more half and half (or coconut milk) to thin it out. Here is where you can add the purple gel to your icing to give it a nice lavender color.

Careful, though. One or two drops of the gel should give it that light purple color.

Now, you can pipe (my preference) or spread the frosting onto the cupcakes. You can sprinkle additional lavender flowers on top or use purple sugar dots/sprinkles to add a little flare to the cupcakes. Place leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate. Be mindful that keto cupcakes have a shelf life of about two days when refrigerated.

3 Tips and More How to DeClutter your Mind to the What’s Next

by Pamela Stone Indeed, life is in stages. After we are born, we grow old enough to set the course for our lives, which often leaves us desiring different achievements at different life stages. In certain times, we relish the sweet feeling that comes from successfully achieving a goal, while in other times, we wonder what’s next?

The mind is so dynamic that it can rise and fall; your mind will triumph or be defeated depending on how you use it – what you feed it and how you manage it. If you order your mind well, it will triumph over the innumerable stress and worries that result from moving from constantly navigating reallife projects, chores, and noise. But the clutter and chaos we experience in our minds keeping us from facing what’s next are direct consequences of poor mind-management.

Perhaps you desire to achieve that next goal but can’t seem to define what it is nor how to get there; you should understand that nothing needs decluttering than your mind, and here are tips to help you declutter your mind so you can achieve what’s next.

1. Stop and breathe. Coincidentally, the first thing you should focus on doing is equally the easiest thing you can do, or maybe not that easy for you. Nonetheless, you need to stop for a moment and breathe. If you’ve been going on and on at several different things for a while, it is expected that your mind would reach a climax, totally entrapped in a web of clutter.

At this moment, you need not add any more weight on yourself; instead, you need to stop and breathe, allowing your mind to process where you’ve been at to determine where you should head towards. In moments like this, when you release yourself from the noise and responsibilities of keeping up with the modern world, your mind will find its rhythm again; it will float-away the most unimportant thoughts and holding on to the most important ones.

2. Identify with yourself. Regardless of external influences, every action you carry out in life derives from your mind, and that is why you got yourself to this point in the first place too. But if you plan to move beyond this point, you need to identify with yourself - accept you for you, make peace with your past actions and inactions, and identify with your mistakes. You need to let go of your fears and embrace the act of esteeming yourself only to the point necessary for moving forward. Identifying with yourself will help you plant the right frame of mind for progress.

3. Do some self-reflection. It should not surprise you that self-reflection is featured here again because I believe that one of the reasons our minds get cluttered sometimes is that we tend to lose touch with our sense of vision and purpose. When we forget our essential goal for living, it becomes easier to pick up many unnecessary reasons for living. We become focused on so many things at the same time when we should fiercely head in the direction of our overall purpose for life. But making time for self-reflection will help you reconnect with your dream and help identify practical ways to walk in it; this is some form of midcourse correction where you sit down to reassess the bigger picture of your life and whether the steps you’ve been taking would lead to your desired destination.

Self-reflection aims to journal about answers to certain specific questions that you must ask yourself periodically. They include asking: I. What are the things that have occupied my mind lately? Here, you want to begin to identify the different thoughts that have cluttered your mind over time, those thoughts that have prevented you from focusing on a specific thing next.

Write out in a journal as many thoughts that come to mind.

II. The ideas in my mind, do they line up with my principles and values?

The essence of this is rooted in the fact that the principles we live by in life are usually defined by the kind of future and purpose we live for, and it is easy to decide whether or not we will successfully attain that purpose if the manner of thoughts that fill the mind is not aligned to the principles and values that make for the fulfillment of purpose. So, you will be quick to declutter your mind from unnecessary thoughts when you realize that they won’t get you where you desire.

Self-reflection aims to help us rediscover our passion so that we can both identify and invest our energy only in the things that matter.

4. Define your priorities. When you have successfully rediscovered the bigger picture for your extraordinary life and identified the things that matter, it becomes extremely crucial for you to set priorities. Prioritizing is how you consciously guard against wastefulness and take charge of your time and energy. This is you making a practical goal to spend your time and energy only in ways that align with what’s next for your life. When you stick to your priorities long enough, they will get on auto-pilot such that your actions and inactions will automatically align with your goals - always leaving you with a decluttered mind ready to face the next big step towards success.

5. Unload some weights off your mind. As a last tip, I will encourage you to always find time to unwind and let-off some loads from your mind. The truth is that the brain also requires some rest, just as the rest of the body. If you walk long enough, it’s only a matter of time before your legs start to ache. Similarly, if you fix your eyes on those computer screens for too long, it’s only a matter of time before those eyes begin to tear-up. You need to accord the same level of care to your mind by taking some time off from bearing challenging thoughts that clutter the mind – we all need to. So, periodically, relax your mind, give it a treat with fun instead of work, and exchange the intensity of meeting deadlines with the feeling of happiness from doing those things you enjoy. Your mind will be recharged and enabled to work perfectly well when you pay attention to these things.

Are you feeling confused about what and what not to focus on in your business, and you find it really hard to wrap your mind around the core values that your company exists for? You may even have it all figured out, with clear goals and aspirations, but are you clueless about how to achieve these goals? Or, have you been operating with your vision and have failed on many attempts?

For every business to thrive, it must have a vision. Every business that have stood the test of time and are still as relevant as they used to be have one thing in common – a vision. In the words of Jack Canfield, “Your brain will work tirelessly to achieve the statements you give your subconscious mind. And when those statements are the affirmations and images of your goals, you are destined to achieve them.”

What exactly is a Vision Board?

In plain language, a vision board is a board that contains your vision. It is also sometimes referred to as a dream board because it articulates your company goals and the big picture you have for your business. The vision board is a compilation of quotes and images that capture how you see your company and the future you desire for it. It is a goal-setting tool that helps you visualize the exact things you want to achieve.

Rather than merely writing out your vision, you need a vision board to help paint a picture which has a stronger effect on the mind. The vision board is placed in a position where you can easily see it every day and be reminded of your goals. It is designed in such a way that it contains quotes, images, and other things that spur you and draw you closer to the achievement of your goals. You and every member of your team should be able to interpret this board and run with its message.

Your vision board reveals what your organization stands for, where you’re headed and how you intend to serve people. The board is in visual format to encapsulate the essence of your business. A Season of Rest Why Black women need to take naps.

My face is swollen and my head hurts. I do not even remember falling asleep the night before.

My entire body feels heavy, and my mind is foggy. It’s April 21st , 2021, the morning after the death of 16-year-old Mykhia Bryant. I know that the way I am feeling is the collective, intergenerational trauma of witnessing violence and death on Black and Brown people over and over again. This time the violence and death were extremely difficult to process, Mykhia was just a child.

Women of Color are asked to carry the burdens and weight of our families, our employer and our community while dealing with attacks of systematic racism. Coupled with expectation for us to be “Strong Black Women”, this often leaves us empty, tired and disconnected from our bodies and our feelings.

During the first of three meetings that morning. I leave my camera off. Even though I work for a large child service agency there is no mention at all her death. My heart silently breaks more. Black women are given no grace in the workspace to process this type of trauma. I cancel the rest of my meetings. I close my bedroom door, climb in bed pull the covers up and I cry, I grieve and finally, I sleep. After traumatic events like MyKhia’s death and all the others before her, Black women are expected to put on our makeup and

heels and show up to jobs where we are often devalued and our needs are dismissed or completely unrecognized. I learned to give myself and body space and time to process trauma in anyway it chooses.

Black women and Women of Color need to rest because it gives us time to heal and set boundaries.

Taking intentional rest for ourselves sets a boundary and space that says, I am important to me. I matter, my mental health matters.

Last spring, when the video of Ahamad Aubrey surfaced, my entire life changed. My son, almost the same age at Ahmaud was an avid jogger. Back then, he was running every day. The thought of loosing my own son to racism was unbearable and I could not shake it. Anxiety gripped my life and I was unable to function . It left me hiding under the covers, grasping for air and trying to calm my pounding heart.

As I was trying to find my way back to myself, I found Tricia Hersey and the Atlanta based Nap Ministry.

I was completely dysregulated; I could not comprehend the entirety of her message, but what I did hear her saying was GO TAKE A NAP! I was 50+ years old and I thought in my mind, I needed permission to rest. Unfortunately for Black women, rest is seen as something we aren’t supposed to need. Black women are praised for their ability to do so much and get so much done with very little rest. With the permission of the Nap Minister, I started taking naps, whenever I felt the need to rest. I would clock out of work and rest. In the mornings, if I could not get up, I would bring my laptop into bed with me or call off the day entirely. I centered my rest and started to honor my body. I started saying no and thinking before I committed myself and my time to projects.

Over time, I begin to feel better. I begin to center rest in my self-care. I scheduled time in my day to connect with my body or take naps. My creativity soared, and Sacred Healing Spaces was born from the journey of desperation to vibrant intentional rest.

Once we are able to move beyond just surviving, we need to rest because it’s pleasurable and it connects us to source energy, creativity, spirituality, vitality and well-being. Intention rest is a gateway to a thriving life.

A famous Henry Ford quote, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right,” emphasizes how much attitude determines success or failure.

One of my favorite examples of this is in the famous children’s story “The Little Engine That Could”.

A description of the book calls “The Little Engine That Could” one of the greatest tales of motivation and the power of positive thinking ever told.

Here is this small engine that is faced with a great task. With its determination and grit, the little engine is able to get over the tall mountain. We can learn a lot from this little train engine, that we need to have a positive attitude and believe in ourselves and we can accomplish amazing things.

It’s motto is “I Think I Can, I Think I Can!” Getting clear on your mindset needs a clear mindset!

Silly as that sounds, mindset is not a stand-alone.

Everything that you do in your life needs to be in alignment. You cannot have a certain mindset in one area of your life, yet it does not coincide with everything else that you do.

Having healthy mental habits, as well as a positive focus are essential to determining the success of your life.

Begin by knowing your “WHY”.

Why do you do what you do?

What is the driving force that keeps you intentional about what you want in life?

Akin to having a vision, you can’t reach your destination if you don’t know what that is for you.

What is important to you?

What are your values and priorities?

Just like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, there will always be shiny objects and crazy characters that will take you off course and distract you from your goals. Knowing what is truly important, will help keep you on your Yellow Brick Road towards your Oz. Be clear on your value.

Studies have shown that much of a negative mindset is due to lack of confidence and self-esteem. Knowing and honoring your own talents and capabilities, and accepting your shortcomings sets your value meter – what you bring to the table, so you are appreciated and respected. Do not measure yourself against someone else’s idea of success.

Step out of the box.

The only limits are those that you put on yourself. Resist the urge to make excuses for why you can’t do something, and stretch yourself. Go beyond what you would comfortably do. You will never know what you are capable of if you don’t try.

SHE IS VISION’S MADE My name is Aleasia “Lisa” Hurt, BSW LP, the Owner and CEO of HURTNPOET LLC. I am a Poet and a Marketing-Promo Writer, Flex Your Voice Content Marketing™️. I am also a Certified Mental Health Specialist, and have been for the past 30 plus years. More recently, I launched the Elevation Mental Health and Emotional Wellness Coaching™️ program. As a founding female, I surely felt empowered to branch out on my own.

Back in 2005, I launched an enterprise and quickly began to craft copy for any and everybody! I was so certain that I had the perfect solution to a problem, which clearly signified the absolute opportunity to walk into my purpose. This was sure to be my ticket straight outta Corporate!

The concept had all the bells and whistles but unfortunately, I just couldn’t push through the crowded marketplace. I had the passion, the grit and the skillset, to Write, that is. After several setbacks and failures, however, I regrettably realized that I could not say ‘yes’ to everyone!

Many years flew by and I continued to grind in the Corporate world. I never gave up on my purpose, though. I refused to believe that my skill to craft beautiful content wasn’t a sought-out commodity. Nevertheless, I did acknowledge the urgency for change. There was no doubt in my mind that I delivered brilliance in the boardroom but my goal was to become a CEO! I was consistently contemplating ways to fill the gaps in my skillset and experiences. My mission was to get further, quickly.

Admittedly so, I was so focused to rely on my own knowledge, that I could no longer see my vision from all the noise. And, the most frustrating part of it all, I got so busy working in the business, I didn’t have the opportunity to work on the business.

Just like any aspiring entrepreneur, I had to step out of my comfort zone. I even attended a Business course at the local Small Business Center; receiving Certification in the Entrepreneurial CEO Initiative .

That sparked the fuel once again and from there, I knew I needed to take a stand! I started joining and participating in local organizations for entrepreneurs and business owners, along with requesting approval to

join online business groups, webinars, summits.

The mere thought of sitting at the table with powerhouse women was phenomenal! One of the groups, in particular, was the absolute catalyst for pioneerdom. And, that pioneering platform rendered me the opportunity to connect with some seasoned entrepreneurs, as well as ladies who were also embracing that highway to freedom.

Ironically enough, I was introduced to this amazing Business Coach, named Pamela Stone.

She actually reached out to inquire about my Content Marketing services. Even as my business was holding its own, the moment I put pen to paper; P Stone Enterprises LLC -Conversate With Pamela to DeClutter the 360 Degree You, it all made sense. Her Stone Methodology was just incredible. Her business mindset and deftness were simply unparalleled. Her Coaching enterprise was all about leveraging the steppingstones she uses to empower desires for growth, to seamlessly live a more independent, lucrative life. It was about women empowering one another to dream big, fulfill their vision and purpose. Turns out, she was just as enthralled with my wordsmith aptitude as I was in her trade.

She actually hired me as her Content Manager.

Yes, of course I will! I mean, what an honor.

would absolutely benefit me and my vision. I could no longer dismiss her highly effective Vision Board system that later inspired her “She Is” Vision Made Magazine. That said, I could not resist temptation or fate, whichever you prefer to call it! I truly did think I could do this thing on my own, but I was so misguided. Over the years, I would hear how every business owner needed a Coach; a Coach should have a Coach. With my to-do list stretching, I was compelled to hire Coach Stone. I desperately needed her to show me how it’s done! Without saying, her first tall task was to change my mindset.

Specifically, I was so enslaved by the boardroom mentality. It sounds cliche, but how many of you can relate? I just kept internalizing the notion that I was fooling myself; I was not going anywhere, anyway... this will always be a hustle. I had surrendered to simply pushing through constant devalue and exasperation. Ideally, I absolutely needed guidance on this one. Coach Pamela, she understood me. She guided me through the process keenly designated to retrain my brain! By that, I mean that we immediately began to focus on growth and the fact that I needed to take command of my own fate. This powerhouse showed me how to transform my setbacks and failures, stay focused on my What’s Next.

So, here we are a couple years later and she has helped me take command of my niche; releasing low or (non) paying clients to clinching a lucrative market. Not only was I able to amplify my message, we worked intentionally to flesh out what I stand for in the marketplace. I emerged as the sought-out seller-poet. I began to offer stellar empathetic, take-action content for Coaches, Speakers, Pod-casters, Consultants, Mental Health Advocates, and other Empowerment Industry Thought-leaders. I crafted Copy that empowered them to Flex Voice in their market. It has been an absolute vision made!

But, my Coach’s brilliance did not stop there! “Have you considered stepping into my world as a Coach?” she asked. My immediate response was an emphatic NO! Yet after a tossy-turny night, I realized that she was absolutely in the know, lol! Coach Pamela empowered me to launch my Elevation Mental Health and Emotional Wellness Program. And, when I did; what a rush! I am truly disrupting the status-quo. Aligned with my empowerment Columnist prose, I chose to also provide holistic, premier solutions that influence and impact the mental and emotional health of all entrepreneurs and business owners. With my extensive experience and bumpy journey, it is my destined purpose to Coach; Mental Health, Emotional Wellness, Inclusion, Diversity and Sensitivity Initiatives.

No longer do I operate under the old model thinking (status-quo).
