Macmillan 2023 - our fundraising efforts so far...
Macmillan fundraising is off to a strong start with our Brewing & Brands total being up by 54% compared to this time last year!
Emma Meins kicked off the fundraising this year with a brilliant darts tournament in February. After such positive feedback it looks like another tournament could be held in October so watch this space for more info.
Macmillan May was jampacked with fundraising events and activities!
Successful cake sales were held in Abbot House, Bury DC, Abingdon depot and Eastwood depot. Sara Mills, Matt Steward and Alice Farnsworth from the HR team trekked 26.2 miles as part of the Norfolk Mighty Hike and we had the incredible Macmillan May auction!
Lynne Nicholson organised the Macmillan May auction that was open to all employees across Greene King and raised an incredible £4,885. The Premium Beers Land Rover received the most bids closely followed by the Ice Breaker Land Rover and the Ice Breaker Beer Bundle! Our very own Sarah Esterhuizen won the Prize Draw to have lunch with Nick Mackenzie and her Exec team member and will be dining in style with them at the end of July.

DONATE TO MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE
New QR codes have been arranged for all sites so that fundraising can be attributed to each site – you can just scan the code and donate no need for any cash! These should be displayed in all reception areas, alongside collection tins and on all drink fridge doors. Currently, we raise almost £250 a month via the drink fridges! Donations for drinks are not mandatory but we do kindly ask that you occasionally offer a donation in return for your free drink. Think what we can achieve if we all donate occasionally!
A message from Lynne Nicholson...
“Many thanks to all for making the first half of the year a success! It’s been amazing to see more people putting effort in to support this amazing cause. We do still have a long way to go to hit our £70k target as a B&B business so please do share ideas with your line managers or Macmillan representative and please do keep donating and supporting those people who continue to put their personal time into helping this great cause. As one of our retailer partners states –every little helps!”
