WELCOME TO THE HALF YEAR PINT SIZED!

It’s been a busy year so far! I hope you enjoyed the first Pint Sized back in May – I certainly enjoyed reading all the stories and updates from our team across B&B and it was fantastic to see so many contributions. Upon reaching our half year point it’s great to look back and reflect on some of your achievements including our efforts in Macmillan fundraising, mid-summer brand performances and collective efforts in driving OBV. We have also seen a huge team effort across all departments to launch cask pins – you can read more on this on page 10.

Last month saw us celebrate Pride where activities were held across the business to celebrate, advocate, and educate on all things LGBTQ+ - thanks to The Village Greene for leading our efforts. With Pride in mind, it was brilliant to see the launch of our new Gender Identity Policy which you can read more about in this edition. Following the latest Pulse survey, I was also pleased to see a significant increase in our overall response rate to 73% compared to 59% this time last year and an increase in both Sustainable Engagement and Business Pride on our B&B Dartboard. A huge thank you for taking part. July ‘23 also marks the one-year anniversary of the full-scale launch of our new premium craft beers Level Head and Flint Eye; and what a year it’s been! We’ve gained listings in over 1200 supermarket stores, have over 1000 distribution points in the On Trade, have run two multi-million-pound media campaigns and as a result have poured over 2.5 million pints. But this is just the beginning of the journey, and we must maintain our team’s advocacy for our premium beers and delivering excellent quality beer must be a key focus. I am also pleased to announce that our IPA initiative Proud to Pitch In has recently passed half a million pounds in grants for grassroot clubs across the UK – an incredible achievement which you can read more about inside.

I would like to thank you all for your hard work so far this year. We have so much to be proud of in B&B and I can’t wait to see what the second half of the year brings.

Matt
