Rathsthapaya - Transportational Hub ‘Rathsthapaya is an 'urban insert' developed to cater to the issues in the Neighborhood . It is a transportational hub which have a hierarchy of functions at different levels. It redeveloped the urban fabric to resolve bus parking issues, traffic bottle-neck, Parking spaces, Adding Space for People to rejuvenate.

PROCESS The aim was to resolve issues in a selected area of our own city by studying neighborhood and site area in detail with help of Mapping of Built v/s Open, Green Cover, Land use, Etc.

Looking at the current site condition there are so many issues like lack of greenery, traffic and Parking issue, etc. Coming to the important part of site the bus station which have so many issues like poor hygiene, Lack of food stall and function related to bus station, No bus bays. So there is an opportunity to create a Multi-Functional Space and Controlling nearby shops Site Encroachment

by Redeveloping Nearby Area.

By constructing a proper bus bays system and adding definite parking for different types of vehicle we can reduce traffic. By aligning shops, we get a large and wide road which helps to divide the road for into different directions, we can add a pedestrian path for people, and this all leads to reduced traffic.

A Place - Public Plaza ‘A Place’ is about creating a space for people to come and relax and take a break from their routine life. Unlike other places, it doesn’t have a fixed function, but many functions and uses can be interpreted from it.

It is meant for recreation, relaxation, reunion, refreshment and much more. The form and space of this design are inspired by carrying out trials and errors and explore quality of spaces via a MAZE. The characteristics of the maze were given getting inspired from a very known architect, ‘Richard Rogers’, also known for his work in STRUCTURAL EXPRESSIONISM. Studying and applying his language while also keeping an individual touch to it was the goal of this Design.

PROCESS The challenge was to learn the method and design language of iven Architect [Ar. Richard Rogers] by studying there designed structures and adapting the design language it to make a design process. In which his earlier project ‘Creak Vean House‘ was studied in detail.

Observing the design language of Ar. Richard Rogers we came to know that he mostly plays in levels,light weight and transparency. adapting one of language pattern (Playing in Levels) from three of them to make a maze for Kids and Adults.

Cara - Tourism Interpretation center ‘Cara’ is a Nepali Translation of Bird. As Nepali is the most widely Spoken language in Sikkim as well as Gangtok. To design a Tourism Interpretation Center. Bird is taken as inspiration by learning and studying the behavior and techniques of a Bird : how a bird protects themselves from wind which was main target of designing, To design something that Protects the interior from powerful winds as because the climate of Gangtok is Cold and Cloudy. The form of building protects it’s tourist and guide them through the mountains of Gangtok.

PROCESS Task was to Build a Tourism Interpretation Center in Gangtok to increase tourism and guide Tourist. By Analyzing Climate and Following suitable steps in design and By understanding neighborhood Building Typology.

CONCEPT

Inspiring from tourist attraction Bird watching. Bird was taken as an inspiration specifically "Himalayan monal" because of its characteristics big size, strong legs and big wings. As it is Cold Climate and to protect there eggs from wind & coldness they use to take from which provides heat inside & divert wind.

Kochi - Muziris Biennale We have attended Kochi-Muziris Biennale the international exhibition of contemporary art held in Kochi, Kerala, India. It is the largest art exhibition in the country and the biggest contemporary art festival in Asia. We Documented all art work done by some Great artist to compiled it in a book and here are some glimpse of our book.

- Climatic Design Strategies To understand Hot and dry climate a detailed Ahmedabad pol house model was made and in a Dark Room importance of Light is understood.

-Art of Crepuscular - Importance of Light in Church To Understand lux level of light in Chruch a detailed model of “Chruch of light” with material indication was made and lux level was calculated from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

- Bamboo Workshop (NASA) A Bamboo Structure was made from small model which was standing on two columns during Zonal NASA 61st .

It was trip to Bhuj Hunnarshala where we Learned several types of organic construction techniques made from Local Material by constructing Rammed Earth Wall, CSEB Wall, Wattle and Daub, Adobe Brick byt ourself.
