On 8 December 2021, the Special Rapporteur published a joint declaration on protecting and supporting civil society at risk, together with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and its Special Rapporteur on freedom of expression; the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders and Focal Point for Reprisals in Africa, of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights; and the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).8
