THE HIDEAWAY OFFICIALLY REOPENS

Following Major Renovation at The Beach Club Resort & Spa

Spectrum Resorts is excited to announce the reopening of The Hideaway at The Beach Club Resort & Spa following an extensive renovation that completely reimagined the beloved dining destination at the heart of The Village. The newly transformed Hideaway introduces a fresh coastal-inspired atmosphere along with new breakfast and coffee offerings, creating an all-day dining destination for both resort guests and the public. The redesigned space features bright, airy interiors with navy ceilings, coastal blue accents, warm rattan textures, beautiful tile details, and relaxed beach-inspired finishes throughout. The renovation blends a modern coastal aesthetic with the casual, welcoming feel guests have always loved.

“The Hideaway has always been a gathering place for families and beachgoers, and we’re thrilled to welcome guests back to experience this exciting new chapter,” said Spectrum Resorts. “From morning coffee to casual dinners and everything in between, The Hideaway was redesigned to create an all-day destination for both resort guests and the local community.” One of the biggest additions to the new Hideaway is the restaurant’s new in-house coffee experience featuring small-batch coffee roasted fresh daily and brewed onsite. Guests can enjoy handcrafted coffee drinks served hot, iced, blended, or Nitro-style alongside a full breakfast menu now available daily. The Hideaway is located inside The Village at the main entrance to The Beach Club Resort & Spa on Fort Morgan Road. The entire Village — including The Mercantile, The Creamery, and Village Lawn — is open to the public, allowing both locals and visitors to experience everything The Beach Club has to offer even if they are not staying on property. Guests may dine indoors or outdoors and can also order ahead by phone for convenient counter pickup. All meals are packaged for easy takeout to enjoy at the beach, pool, or condo.

PAT SIMPSON

JEFF SILVERS

For more than two decades, Orange Beach has evolved from a small coastal community into one of the Gulf Coast's most desirable places to live, work, and visit. That growth has been guided by leaders willing to invest their time, talents, and energy into the community. Few exemplify that commitment more than former City Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem Jerry Johnson, who recently stepped down after more than a decade of service to focus on his family during his grandson's serious health battle. Two leaders helping carry that legacy forward are Jeff Silvers and Pat Simpson. Following Johnson's resignation, Silvers was appointed Mayor Pro Tem, while Simpson was selected to fill the vacant Place 3 seat. Silvers has spent more than 20 years on the City Council, following service on the Planning Commission, Volunteer Fire Board, Sports Association Board, and numerous community committees. Simpson’s commitment to the community has included 9 years of service on the Orange Beach Planning Commission and support of organizations such as Youth Reach, Art for Heart, and Toys 4 Kids. As Orange Beach continues to grow, both leaders remain focused on preserving the qualities that make the city special while helping guide its future. 14

JEF F SI LVERS - M AYO R PRO TEM

Leading Orange Beach FORWARD What excites you most about Orange Beach’s future? We have exciting opportunities ahead, including a planned civic center, the long-awaited Canal Road to Highway 161 bypass, and continued investments in our schools. Our long-range comprehensive study will also help guide future decisions related to drainage, traffic flow, and growth.

What is the greatest responsibility city leaders have to future generations? Transparency, listening, and planning. Success comes from working closely with city staff, planners, and our state and federal partners. The progress Orange Beach has made is a reflection of our outstanding city employees. I will continue to listen, serve, and do my part to help move our city forward.

COMMUNITY LEADERS

Orange Beach has been a wonderful home for my family for more than 21 years. After prayer and thoughtful consideration, I saw this as an opportunity to serve residents, listen to different perspectives, and help make decisions that benefit our community.

What perspective do you hope to bring to the council? As a business owner and longtime advocate for responsible growth, I value economic vitality while protecting Orange Beach’s unique character. Growth should respect our natural environment, support local businesses and residents, and preserve the welcoming, small-town atmosphere that makes our community special. Balancing progress with the protection of our beaches and family-friendly quality of life is essential to Orange Beach's future.

Ginger proudly serves on the Orange Beach City Council and recently helped lead the successful effort to pass the Alabama Tourism Protection Act, strengthening consumer protections and supporting responsible vacation rental management across the state.

WHY WE LOVE BEACHBALL PROPERTIES • Locally owned and nationally recognized for excellence in vacation rental management. BEACHBALL PROPERTIES has become one of Alabama’s Gulf Coast’s most respected names in vacation rental management by doing things a little differently. What began with just 14 vacation homes has grown into a portfolio of more than 350 premier vacation rentals throughout Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Fort Morgan. Along the way, BEACHBALL has earned a reputation for delivering exceptional hospitality while remaining deeply rooted in the community that made its success possible.

SOCIAL LIVING

While the penthouse enjoys breathtaking views of Orange Beach's waterways, it is the interior design that immediately captures attention. Rather than following a traditional beach-house aesthetic, the home embraces dramatic contrasts, rich textures, and statement-making details that reflect the homeowners' unique style. From the beginning, Marbella and Scott envisioned a home that moved beyond expected coastal clichés, creating a sophisticated space designed for entertaining while fully embracing the beauty of beachfront living.

Working closely with Marbella and Scott, the talented team at Hollis Interiors transformed the penthouse into a highly personalized sanctuary. Throughout the home, dark architectural elements are balanced by warm brass accents, luxurious finishes, and carefully curated furnishings. The result is a sophisticated design that feels elevated yet approachable.

SOCIAL LIVING

For the Spatas, the project represented a rare opportunity to create a home that was entirely their own. After years of relocating across the country and purchasing homes designed for broad appeal, they embraced a more expressive vision, incorporating bold color, sculptural furnishings, distinctive artwork, and custom details that complement the home's extraordinary natural light and panoramic views. The heart of the home is the expansive living and entertaining space, where custom details and thoughtful design choices create an atmosphere equally suited for intimate family gatherings and larger celebrations. The chef's kitchen serves as a stunning focal point, positioned between the dining room, bar lounge, and living areas. Framed by sweeping views of Old River, Ono Island, and Bayou Saint John, the oversized island was designed as a gathering place where family and friends naturally come together. Each bedroom offers its own distinctive personality while maintaining a cohesive overall design. One of the home's most memorable features is Scott's custom office, where a full wall of glass captures spectacular Gulf views while creating a private retreat tailored to his interests and lifestyle.

For Hollis Interiors, the project presented an opportunity to showcase how coastal design can move beyond convention while still honoring its surroundings. The home's rich materials, layered textures, and thoughtful details complement the spectacular waterfront setting without competing with it. The result is a residence that feels deeply personal to its owners—a place where family can gather, memories can be made, and every room tells a story. Set against the backdrop of Orange Beach's beautiful waterways, this Legacy Key penthouse is a perfect example of how exceptional design can transform a home into a true reflection of the people who live there.

SUPERMOM

Lindsay McClure PROUD TO BE DOLPHIN

F

or Lindsay McClure, investing in children extends far beyond her own family. A lifelong Gulf Shores resident, devoted wife and mother, and Executive Director of the Dolphin Foundation for Education & Arts, she is passionate about creating opportunities that help students thrive. After her parents chose Gulf Shores as the place to raise a family, Lindsay grew up surrounded by the strong sense of community and hometown pride that continue to define the city today. She and her husband, Hunter, are now raising their three children—Avery Lee, who will attend the new Gulf Shores High School this fall; Hayden, who is starting Gulf Shores Middle School this year; and Cole, who rounds out the crew at Gulf Shores Elementary School—in the very community that shaped her own childhood.

What do you enjoy most about raising your children in Gulf Shores? The incredible sense of community. It’s a place where people genuinely care about one another. My kids are growing up surrounded by opportunities, encouragement, and people who truly invest in them. It’s a wonderful place to raise a family, and it blesses me to know they get to call it home.

How do you balance family life with leading the Dolphin Foundation, and why is that work so meaningful to you? Balance... anyone who knows me probably laughs if that word is associated with me. I’m all over the place all the time, and if that ever changes, I’d probably be bored.

SHE LEADS. SHE BUILDS. SHE INSPIRES.

A curated celebration of women making an impact—WE Social features powerful profiles of businesswomen and local leaders. Secure your opportunity to tell your story and showcase your business.

My children will always be my first priority. Knowing that the work my team and I do with the Dolphin Foundation benefits not only them, but every student in Gulf Shores City Schools, what more motivation do I need? Seeing our community come together to support students and educators is the most rewarding part of my job. What values from your upbringing are you working to pass on to your children? My parents and grandparents poured their hearts into this community and taught us the importance of kindness, integrity, respect, and hard work. I want my children to know that character matters, serving others is important, and treating people with compassion can make a difference. I also hope they keep Jesus first, treasure Sunday boat days with family, and never take for granted what a privilege it is to say they were born and raised in Gulf Shores. What has been one of your proudest moments as a mother? My proudest moments haven’t been tied to awards or accomplishments. They’ve been the moments when I see my children choose to be better humans. When I watch them love like Jesus, encourage others, work hard, or do the right thing when no one is watching, I’m reminded that maybe we’re doing something right as parents.
