Welcome to the West Florence High School 2021 football season. We are excited about the possibilities of our athletic season at West and are looking forward to your continued support of our student athletes in their comprehensive high school experience while in attendance at our school. Our administration, staff and coaches are committed to providing a challenging, supportive and caring environment where our student-athletes can reach their academic, athletic and personal potential.

We expect our coaches, athletes and spectators to conduct themselves in a manner that shows respect and sportsmanship when we interact with opposing teams, coaches, fans and contest officials.

I am excited to be a part of the rich tradition of athletics and look forward to supporting our community here at WFHS.

WELCOME, KNIGHT FANS! Thank you for coming to an athletic event at West Florence High School! We hope you enjoy our hospitality tonight, and we hope you have a great game day experience. We welcome you to another exciting evening enjoying fellowship, and of course, pride in our athletic programs.

The hard work of our football players, cheerleaders, band members, volleyball players, tennis athletes, golfers, runners, coaches and support staff will be on display before your very eyes. What you might not see is the hard work our student-athletes have been putting in the classroom. Last year, our 500+ athletes averaged an astonishing 4.2 GPA. While our community service was down because of the global pandemic, we are proud of the work we have done. We are more proud of our classroom accomplishments that we are of our ninth consecutive All-Sports City championship, or our sixtyfour All-Region VI Athletes.

As you might have noticed, we have made a few upgrades on Beltline Drive. A renovated gym, resurfaced tennis courts, refreshed cross country trail, and what we think is the coolest football stadium in the state are symbolic of the growth we are experiencing. Everything we have done is for the benefit of the students in our school and our community.

The Meanings of the 3 Shields

The three shields you see on the football helmets and other uniforms are awarded to student athletes for their achievements. The Commitment Badge is awarded to student athletes who make 100% of their off-season workouts. The Academic Badge is awarded to student athletes who carry a 3.0 GPA for the previous year. The Community Badge is awarded to student athletes who complete 25 hours of community service.

2021 - 2022 FOOTBALL COACHES

Coach Jody Jenerette Coach Jenerette is entering his fourth season as the head football coach at West Florence. Before he came to West Florence, he served as the head coach at Aynor High School. Coach Jenerette has also been an assistant coach at Conway and Manning. He has been named the SCACA Lower State Coach of the Year on two separate occasions (2012 and 2017). Coach Jenerette was tabbed as a Shrine Bowl assistant in 2013 and a North South assistant in 2011.

Coach Jenerette teaches Physical Education at West Florence High School. He and his spouse, Jill, have one child, Ruby Anna, and a niece, Jenna Richardson. They also have two nephews, Zack and Caleb Jenerette.

Coach David Alexander

Coach Alexander is a graduate of Clemson University, he holds a Master’s Degree in Education-History and has coached and taught in public schools in South Carolina for 40 years. Coach Alexander has taught a variety of social studies courses in grades 9 through 12.

He currently teaches U.S. History and serves as a Varsity Assistant Football Coach.

Coach Alexander is married (39 years) with two daughters (“grown and gone”) and one two-year-old grandson.

Coach Jarren Devlin

Coach Devlin serves as the Defensive Coordinator this season. Before Coach Devlin’s move to West Florence, he was an assistant at Wilson High School. He has coached every defensive position. In his coaching career, Coach Devlin has coached several players who earned

Coach Bowman Hiller

Coach Hiller is in his second year of coaching at West Florence. Before coaching the linebackers here, he was a quarterback and team captain for the Knights.

He is a graduate of Clemson University.

Coach Jalin Dixon

Coach Dixon is a native of Florence, SC. He graduated from West Florence High School in 2013 where he played varsity football as a running back for four years. Coach Dixon won the 2011-2012 All Region Conference and the 2011 offensive Varsity Player of the Year. In 2013, Coach Dixon attended Benedict College in Columbia, SC. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice in 2017. After college, Coach Dixon worked as a police officer for the City of Florence. He is currently working in Florence One as Campus Safety.

Coach Dixon is entering his fourth year as a Varsity Assistant Coach and JV Assistant Coach. He’s also entering his third year helping coach the track team.

Coach Dixon has a three year old son, Taylen, that is his pride and joy.

Coach Dixon loves impacting the lives of teens and making a difference.

Coach Alex Holbrooks

Coach Holbrooks is entering his sixth year at West Florence and eighth year as an athletic trainer. Originally from Seneca, SC, he graduated from Winthrop University with a BS in Athletic Training. Before joining the staff at McLeod, he worked as the athletic trainer at a 6A school in Gulfport, MS. He is passionate about the work he does keeping the athletes healthy and playing their sport. Coach Holbrooks also holds certifications from the NCSA and USA weightlifting committee. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Kendall and visiting South Carolina State Parks.

Coach Daryl Page

Coach Page is entering his sixth season as the offensive coordinator/ QB coach at West Florence. Before Coach Page came to West Florence, he served as the head football coach and athletic director at Lower Richland High School in Hopkins, SC, and the head football coach at Wilson High School here in Florence. At Lower Richland, Coach Page led the Diamond Hornets to their first football playoff appearance victory in ten years. While at Wilson, he won three region championships, ten Florence City Championships, made 14 appearances in the State Playoffs, and won the SC AAA State Championship in 2007.

Coach Page teaches African-American literature and English 3. He and his spouse, Angel, have two children - Jalen (23) and Kerian (20).

Coach Page also has a daughter, Brittany (33).

Coach Braxton Ivery

Coach Ivery is from Florence, SC, and attended Wilson High School. After graduating from Wilson, he furthered his football career at Newberry College. Coach Ivery ended his college career with helping the football team win the 2016 SAC Conference, before graduating with a degree in Sport Management. Coach Ivery is our Wide Receivers Coach.

Coach Aundres Perkins

Coach Perk is a 2002 West Florence High School graduate. After graduation, he attended Coastal Carolina University on a full athletic scholarship where he played for the Chanticleers on the inaugural football team. Immediately after college, Perkins began his coaching career at North Myrtle Beach High School where he coached running backs. From 2010-2015, he returned to West Florence as an assistant football coach and finished as the defensive coordinator. In 2015, Perkins became the head football coach and athletic director at Hannah-Pamplico High School. Perkins served as an assistant coach for Darlington High School in 2016. Perkins returned to West Florence in 2017 and is the head softball coach and defensive line/assistant coach for the KNIGHTS. Perkins and his wife Jade live in Florence with their three children JayAun (13), Jhani (11), and Jax (5).

Coach Beth Prosser I am eternally grateful to my cheerleading coach, Nikki Moose, for bringing me on board at my alma mater. I have been involved with cheerleading since age nine and have cheered at all levels before entering the coaching world. I am entering my 22nd year as a South Carolina High School League coach, all of which have been at West Florence High School. I wouldn’t trade any of it for one minute!

I am currently serving as the Parliamentarian on the SC Cheer Coaches Association Board of Directors. I have been blessed to be the director of the Highland Park Weekday Children’s Ministry for 15 years. My husband, Michael, and I have two fun and fabulous children, Dalton and Kirven.

Coach Keiffer Coach Keiffer has had a long career in cheering, from elementary school through her senior year in high school. Along with cheering for her schools, she was also a competitive cheerleader for over six years.

Coach Keiffer has coached tumbling and worked with competitive teams throughout her years of cheering. She is beyond grateful for this opportunity to be the West Florence Junior Varsity cheerleading coach.

The West Florence High School Marching Knights are under

the direction of Mr. Johnny Powers. He is assisted by Ricky Hyman, Matthew Carl, Jonathan Greene, and Minya Benjamin. The West Florence Marching Knights currently march just over 70 members. The Marching Knights competitive 2021-2022 show theme is, “War Dance”. War Dance was inspired by the Haka, a war chant of the Maori people of New Zealand involving vigorous movements and rhythmic shouting.

Coach Warren Coker

Coach Coker is in his fourth year at West Florence High School where he teaches Physical Education/Health.

He is beginning his 22nd year as an educator and his 28th year as a coach. This season will mark his 22nd year of coaching women’s volleyball and his sixth year of coaching men’s tennis. In the past, he has also coached softball, basketball, and football. Before Coach Coker came to West Florence, he coached varsity volleyball for 17 years at Sumter High School and Darlington Middle School for one year. He currently serves on the South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports Executive Board and has for 18 years. Over the last 16 years, Coach Coker has served as the Volleyball Chairperson for South Carolina where he oversees the North/South Volleyball All-Star Matches. Coach Coker received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from the University of South Carolina and his Masters of Science in College Athletic Administration from Coker College.

Coach Saphire Campbell

Coach Campbell is entering her second season as the assistant volleyball coach at West Florence. Before Coach Campbell came to West Florence, she was a coach with Sumter Juniors Volleyball Club.

She is currently in school for communications. Coach Campbell would like to broadcast with the NFL after she graduates.

Coach Hubbard is entering her third season as the JV volleyball coach at West Florence High School. She has also helped with West Florence softball in previous years. She graduated from Francis Marion University and is now working at S/W Printing as a Graphic Designer.

Coach Hubbard and her husband, Tyson, have two precious fur babies, Harley and Hugo.

Coach Sullivan is the West Florence girl’s tennis coach. This is her ninth year coaching and tenth year teaching at West Florence High School. During her time of being a KNIGHT, she has been a member of both the softball and girl’s tennis coaching staff. She is extremely excited for this upcoming season and is looking forward to watching this team grow and be successful.

Coach Richard Wideman Coach Wideman has coached XC for 14 years and track for 17 years. He has also coached soccer and wrestling during his career and is currently a Social Studies teacher at West Florence High School.

Coach Wideman has been married to Lori for 24 years and they have two children, Nate and Oliva.

Coach Janmarie Chatlosh

Coach Chatlosh is entering her ninth year coaching the West Florence swim team after nine years of assisting the swim coach. She enjoys working with experienced and novice swimmers helping them develop and grow in the sport. Chatlosh is beginning her 38th year at Lester Elementary. She has taught in the autistic program, primary grades, and has been the media specialist for the past 20 years. Coach Chatlosh is looking forward to a fast season of swimming at West Florence.

Coach Chatlosh is married to Jeff, a West Florence teacher. She has raised two sons and currently has three awesome grandsons - Cooper, Hart, and Cameron.

Coach Chris Wegmann

Coach Wegmann is entering his seventh season as the girl’s golf coach at West Florence. Before Coach Wegmann coached the golf team, he also coached football and track at West Florence. At his previous school, Coach Wegmann taught and mentored at a behavior school named Choices Charter School.

Coach Wegmann teaches AP Human Geography at West Florence High School. He and his spouse, Jessica, just celebrated their ten-year anniversary.

Coach Christopher Dale

Coach Dale is entering his fourth season as the assistant girl’s golf coach at West Florence. Before Coach Dale started assisting the girl’s golf program at West Florence, he served as an assistant football coach at West Florence for one year and as an assistant football coach at Sneed Middle for six years. He has also been a Jr. Beta Club sponsor at Sneed Middle school. Mr. Dale is currently teaching Algebra 1 Honors and eighth grade Pre-Algebra at Sneed.

Coach Dale is married to Kelli, a class of 1996 graduate of West Florence. They have one son, Davis, who is 13.
